Dwarfs are the best allies you could ask for in warhammer. They protect you from greenskin hordes, teach you how to forge iron, give you the secret of gunpowder, and aid you in battles against your enemies.
But gods help you if you wrong any of them

There were many Longbeards that disagreed with the idea of giving Dwarf secrets to Manlings. But the more forward thinking king of the time, thought it wise to cultivate an ally in case of times of dire need. Turns out he was right. When it was the Dwarfs' turn to need the Humans, Sigmar answered the call and came to help.

Hey, I read that whilst writing this video. The book had so many great quotes in it, and the banter between Sigmar and Wolfgart was generally amazing

@@vlaanderenvrij no, like it or not, total war warhammer brought a lot of attention to warhammer fantasy that it usually doesn't get, often getting passed over for 40k.its definitely not a flawless game series but ignoring the impact just cause you don't personally like it is just childish.
Moneygrab implies that no effort was made to make Total Warhammer, which is blatantly untrue as it's one of the highest quality products CA has created.

Good is an understatement. More like durable. Freya had............unusual tastes. By the time they were done, sigmar looked like (and I quote): "By the Gods! You look like you have been mauled by a bear. What the hell did she do to you?"

The sundering, The war of the beard, Nekhehara rise and fall, Gilles le breton, fuck so many interesting stuff to cover.
"betrayal" is a bit of a stretch. Especially when you look at the end times and the change Malekith goes through, and when you look at how useless the (high) elves are, much like the jedi in star wars they fall into a slump of being comfortable and start politicking and bickering and not really helping anyone that they should, they don't do a whole lot to combat the threats that face the world, they don't even really care. Its hard to not say Malekith might have had a point, especially since the guy he was trying to overthrow wasn't exactly the greatest ruler, not to mention Malekith is the son of the greatest warrior to ever live in the whole setting, like many things in warhammer, its a rather complex and morally grey area.

@@baconcommando2454 This is exactly why I disregard End Times lore. The absurd power scaling is also another thing that I heavily disliked in the End Times. The only part of it I liked was the inclusion of Valten

I like these ones. Star Wars etc are a bit too mainstream, but here i learn things for franchises I don't know much abvout.
Despite just being environment for a Tabletop game, Warhammer Fantasy lore is rather interesting. If you want to read a bit, I recommend starting with the Tyrion and Teclis trilogy. Great writing and characters nearly as ignorant of the wider world as a new reader

@@adelkheir 40k has never had stories and characters as compelling as Warhammer does. The Old World has a sense of geography and history which is entirely missing in the scifi version.

I only recently discovered Howard and his stories are so damn good, some of it is a little bit cringe today but they were written in the 20s so it's to be expected.

If you're looking for other things to include, may I suggest the novels of David Gemmel, particularly the Drenai Ventrian war and the battles of Dros Delnoch? Some good alternative world pseudo historical battles detailed very well from a variety of first person perspectives in his later books as well

I bought Total war Warhammer 2 without any knowledge of the world hoping to learn some about them. But I couldn’t learn any amount so I deleted it. Watching this videos helps me understand more and has me interested in trying these games out once more thank you!
I would recommend "The book of Choyer". IMO the best warhammer fantasy lore channel on youtube.
If you want to do a sci fi battle my suggestion would be the battle of Arrakeen from Dune. Where Maud Dib's legions crushed the armies of the padashah emperor and he took the golden lion throne to become emperor of the known universe.

Here's a conspiracy theory:
What if Sigmar is just the disguised God-Emperor of Mankind (reduced in power, a mortal vessel, or even one of the Lost Primarchs) in the future after the universe is consumed by Chaos trying to "start over" with human, eldar, and ork survivors on a lonely, relatively-unblemished world? I know they retconned any connection to Fantasy and 40k, but it could explain why Slaanesh is already a Chaos God and why the other Greater Daemons show up in both settings...

Sigmar never married, as he ever grieved the death of his love. Freya was a mighty and loyal vassal in later wars, but she never told Sigmar, what she gave birth to his only children. Thereby was the bloodline of the Future God-Emperor saved and his offspring lived on right to the End Times.

The children was never acknowledged by Sigmar (as he didn't know they existed) and after his disappearance, those children became prominent nobles in the Empire on the strength of their mother's rank and position as well as their own strengths. There was a family resembles to Sigmar, and their heritage was known to some. But the family didn't gain dominance in the Empire because of it.
