- AAAAAANND IT'S FINALLY OUT!!! Such a bittersweet feeling actually,, because I've been waiting since like, late October I think to actually release this? I wanted to wait until the finale has all aired and I wouldn't potentially spoil the anime onlies, so the fact that it is finally here also marks the ending of Mob and :') gosh,,, I'm gonna miss this show, these characters, so much... Shigeo means a lot to me. So consider this a sort of love letter to him and the series. I've had an absolutely lovely time 💚
This took like, all summer of working on it on and off, and then some, but it was also such an incredibly fun process. I don't think I've had such a fun time with an art project before,, it makes me excited to do more, so, we'll see how that works out :)
Uhhh and this is where I need to put a bunch of keywords in for visibility right?? Um. I'm just gonna describe this animatic then, might also be useful for those who've somehow stumbled across this not knowing anything ^^
So, mp100 is an anime that started off of a webcomic by author ONE. It follow the titular character 'Mob', as he is nicknamed, or Shigeo Kageyama, a gentle, seemingly average boy with actually immense psychic powers, as he works for a fraud named Arataka Reigen in a psychic consultation office. However, that's just the background stuff, and this animatic in particular follows Mob's life besides that, walking through most of the events of the series, and especially focusing on his relationship with his little brother Ritsu, and his childhood friend and crush Tsubomi - who both had some of the largest impact on his upbringing, his complexes, and who he is as a person overall - and how he deals with... all of it.
This series is dear to me for it's exploration of Mob's psyche and it's themes of kindness and acceptance, towards others and yourself most of all, so I hope that carried well into this little thing as well 💚

the fact that you made this and put it online FOR FREE makes me feel like a criminal. i shouldnt be allowed to refeel the emotions i had watching mp100 with such INTENSITY!!!!!! your art style is so simple yet really, REALLY carries through in the roughest moments and this, god, this is just so incredibly done.

This is a masterpiece and you should feel so proud. You've done such an incredible job conveying everything that Mob has struggled with throughout the series. From small, humble things, like wanting to talk to his crush, getting fit and understanding social cues... to massive things, like having to worry about his powers hurting (and potentially killing) the people he loves. So impactful, and I really like the subtle style changes and the shifts in detail in certain key moments.
I also love how you create transitions, such as having him look at has hands and having it transition between blood and milk from two traumatic moments; and the transition in the moments where Mob nearly loses himself completely when confronting Minori or seeing the bodies of his family burning.
The flowers throughout are so lovely, too.

I will not pretend to know what in gods name is happening because I have not seen more that 5 episodes of this show but GODD is this animatic stunning. the pacing, the composition, the color choices, THE LINEWORK!!!! GOSHHHH this is one of my favorite mp100 animatics now,,,,, I love your palettes and compositions so so much particularly towards the end and you captured mob's overarching struggle throughout the series really really well! this boy deserves so many hugs

i wish i could like this more than once. like a minimum of 10000 times. i had to go rant about how much i loved ur artstyle and use of color in my discord's special interests channel. it brings back all the emotions i had about the series in the way i felt them. literally crying and screaming and throwing up

This is so wonderfully created. I cannot express how much I adore this. I cried. A lot. While watching it. I love how you represented mobs struggles and growth. I want to reach through the screen and give him a hug. Your art is breathtaking and I can tell you put a lot of effort into each frame. This is my favorite thing to ever come out of this fandom.

ohh my goddddd i'm speechless. i can't properly articulate how gorgeous this animatic is but your level of detail is so so good! the color palette changes and the subtle details in the faces you draw convey so much emotion and i'm in awe!! your artstyle is so so good too, i love the way you shade and i feel like the hatching makes some of the shots more intense, like when mob's house was burnt down. there are so many little details i'd love to point out but i'd just be typing an essay haha^^; anyway i really really love this animatic and i can't even begin to imagine the effort put into this

this is so wonderfully made,, I love the song choice and the way you decided to connect each key event throughout the series and the color choices for each scene as well. I can't believe I just found this to be honest, but I'm glad I did!! this made me cry legitimately, I love Mob so much, I feel so much for the kid and really, REALLY relate to him, and the way you made this animatic really showed just how much he went through and how much must have been really going on inside his head throughout each experience. everything about this is just so so good I love this so much and this really feels like a love letter to the series, especially with how long this must have taken ;w;

ohhh my god this is stunning?? typically i have the worst attention span known to man but i was glued to the screen for all 4 and a half beautiful minutes!! the way you portrayed the growth of mob and those around him through this video is just so emotionally captivating, not to mention how gorgeous the art is!!!! your usage of colors, textures, and backgrounds is incredibly impressive i seriously adore this video

YOOO this is SO phenomenal and so underrated what the hell!! Your use of colors are absolutely impeccable, I especially love the way you drew Shigeo rising up at 4:12. I love the way you portray all of Mob's emotions too, really reminds me that he is 15 aka one of the worst years emotionally for normal people much less for someone who was forced to bottle it all up for so long. Just fantastic work, 10/10
Oof,,, yeah, being 14/15 was.... rough. Definitely :') and i'm glad you liked that shot of ???%!!! I still really like the choice of making their aura pink - a kind of softer version of red, that speaks of their affection towards Tsubomi and Ritsu, and protection towards Mob - while relegating the actual red to the edges of the frame - symbolic of how they view the world around them to be the dangerous part in all this. I like getting into the characters heads in all this, and I love ???%... a whole whole lot,,,
