Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector 2R. as usual after a long cold spell i have a track problem , all recified now , but found I was sold the wrong flexi track …
You were lucky that the defect was in an easily accessible place. For the same money you can have something like that in a tunnel. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Hi Jef ...yes that can be a more annoying place to have a track problem , i do have lift up tops on my tunnel so its eeasier to rectify , thanks for commenting from Holland ...cheers Dave
Hi Dave, enjoyed watching your layout. Most impressed with the background painting. The panel with the church is especially good, gives a real feeling of depth and distance. Most importantly, for me, is that the foreground and backscean blend in perfectly with each other. Really nice. 🙂🚂
Hi Alastair ..yes track repairs never ending ...I thought i had cured all but now have a further problem on same track nfurther on , o well helps to keep me busy ...Cheers Dave
Ha ha ..yes typical though fix one bit then another appear s ..so had to order some Peco flexi on line ....that glue is good ..i have done both plastic , glass , metal , and it does stick very quickly ...cheers Dave
Hi Paul ..yes you can say that again , I have now taken that Hornby track up as i got a problem just further down , i bit the bullet and bought some genuine Peco Flexi ..cost me £8 carriage though for 4 pieces , but least got the good track i should have had in the first place , anyway got that laid down now and a lot better ...video coming soon ..cheers Dave
Always enjoy the layout Dave glad you solved the track problem bit strange though Peco Label but Hornby track ? Take care hope you keeping well, Stewart
Hi Stuart , not surte if you get the same but after iether very hot weatehr ofr very cold i find i get these track problems , got that part done now got a problem just further on ...the shop were i bought that track is more or less just a toy shop dont think they knew anything about railways , but bad practice putting Peco label on the hornby track ...alwys said Hornby flexi was very poor standard , i should have inspected it more ...but needs must so used it ..cheers Dave
Nice to see things running around. My first thought was the track has got a bit of a twist and bend has I Spotted both the deltic and coaches roll/rock. The last time I had DP1, the back to back and size of the front axles we’re very different from the other two at each end. This cause me no end of problems until I got a set from Bachmann spare’s department, not sure if they still give out free stuff anymore has it was a good 15 years ago. Cheers Ian.
Hi ian , well when i replaced the track it seemed to run smoothish , still need gluing down so probably be better then , i know what you mean though with the back to back , had smae problem on a 37 ....a new set of bogies and wheels cured it ..cheers Dave
Hi David ..well i thought i had , but now more problems further down the line ...think i shall look forward to summer and doing more in the garden ,,,,Cheers Dave
Nice job with he knew track David. David I am thinking of purchasing some accessories from CB Models. Did you ever purchase items from CB Models? There located in United Kingdom.
Hi Dave, Debs, hope you are both well? Has Debs had her hip sorted yet? Bloomin track. Glad you sorted it Dave. Love your Deltic such a good model. Soon be spring and back in the garden with the boys and girls feeding them their favourite treat of muscles. Its felt like spring here today 16 degrees which was nice for a change. Take care both of you, all the best Pete 👍
Hi Peter , still waiting for the new hip and she is really struggling now. , but life goes on , as for the track work .. it never ends .. got more problem further down the line now .. roll on summer and back out in the garden Cheers Dave
Interesting video Dave. I am just about to weather and ballast my track, even though I tested my track with different trains I am sure I will have issues when I finish the ballasting. When you have those issues has it ever been the “back-to-back” on the locomotives that causes those issues with running over parts of the track?...Simon
Just occasionally had back to back problems , but most are track movement , only needs a fraction on a joint , which we get after very cold spells and hot ones , mainly my fault not leaving a gap on the joints … cheers Dave
Least you managed to sort the issue. I’ve had issues myself tho with hornby track maybe worth keeping an eye on? Can’t believe the shop was selling it under Peco though!
Yes though the chap had not a clue he did not know what flexi track ment. , but once bitten twice shy as they say , won’t be going there again … trouble is now got another problem further on … cheers Dave
Hi, David I'm happy to see one of your videos and hear what's new. If you've found a shop near your home that sells accessories for model railways, keep it close because postage costs have increased incredibly. A big like and a good weekend to you and Deb. Alberto 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋
That is odd, you bought and paid for PECO, but actually got Hornby. I prefer PECO. The rails slip through the Hornby too easily. Before you know it, you've cut one rail too short. cheers, Rob
Aa I said Rob ..this was just a toy shop ..they had not got a clue , probably bought these in a job lot , but my local railway shop has closed and I wanted to save on postage , should have taken them back , but i used them , now found got a problem further down the track , so lifted the lot , ordered some Peco on line , so hopefully will replace the lot next week ...£8 though carriage charges on 4 pieces of track ...,,Cheers Dave
@@howarth004 I hear ya. Everything I buy anymore is shipped to me. There is one model shop in the area to serve 4 million people. It is 30 minutes away, so an hour plus shopping time. I would rather just stay home and pay the postage.
Yes they are a good few closing down now , that was a big surprise with Hattons closing ....shows its a hobby that is too expensive now for a lot starting out , and i refuse to buy new anymore , a sound loco now you are talking £300 + for a decent one ...I do have enough though to keep me going ...
So Dave, any idea what the problem was. I can only think that the back to back of the track at that point had splayed. But why or how? Hornby track with Peco label, got to be a shopkeeper scam shurley? Barry.Devon
Hi Barry , think the problem was a fraction of track movement , did not leave a gap between the rail joints , or they had tightened up during the summer , after fitting the Hornby flexi (poor quality) i then got a problem on the next lot of joints , so now pulled up the whole of the curve (3pieces of track _ and have ordered on line some Peco track ..shall fit new cork underlay and hopefully will cure it all once and for all ....thats shop i bought the rail from was more or less just a toy shop think they buy odds and sods of all sorts , he did not have a clue what i meant when i asked if he had any Flexi track , I should have inspected more closely , but i saw the peco label on the track so thought it was genuine ....we live and learn ...costing me £8 for postage but least shall not be buying rubbish ...cheers Dave
I found the set track is OK but the flexi is very poor standard , the rails slide out of the sleepers too easily ..have you used flexi track and then compared the 2 ?..cheers dave
