New Brockumentary about one of Brockhampton's best! I've been getting requests to keep doing these videos on each member of the group, so I wanted to do Merlyn next. Love him so much and I hope you like this video! - Видеоклипы
its about time someone put some respect on Meryln's name
Cameron _ MERLYN
TIME TRAVELIN HONDA SWERVIN BOOK LEARNIN
DAMN
boy better treat him with respect
Cameron _ *Continues to Spell his name wrong*
I'm only on 1:52 of the video but I had to pause because he got in to UT Austin, I live in Texas and that's a really hard school to get in to only the top 10% of your class get in and have to have a almost perfect ACT OR SAT scorer. Dang my boy Merlyn is a straight genius.
grades dont mean genius, but he is
That African intelligence/work ethic bwoy
I just graduated UT and you need a relatively high SAT score not perfect one (I got a 2050) and only the top 7% of your high school get automatically accepted. Merlyn definitely is a very bright and creative individual since he got into the architecture school, its one of the best in the nation. My roomate was in UTSOA and constantly talked about how difficult and prestigious the program was.
It’s not that hard.... not to discount his intelligence and UT Austin is a good school but like you don’t need a near perfect score at all (average is like 1280) and you definitely don’t need to be top 10% (that’s only for automatic admission).
irlpeace you don’t even have a chance unless you make a 28 on the act and when I found that out like last year I shit my pants. He was studying architecture too! That’s crazy!
Merlyn is a hidden genius. He's a calm and collected person while having that crazy rapping style we love. I don't love Merlyn because he has the craziest verses, I love him because he is a hidden genius. He knows you will hype up to his verses.
I also like in Sweet how he transitions from loud merlyn to normal merlyn like there are two people. Actually that’s probably my favorite verse out of all the Saturation albums
Joba's verse on Sweet is better. Sweet has some of my favorite verses from everyone though.
"Don't call me stupid, that's not the way my name pronounce"
He knows
Merlyn is probably so woke, but the goofyness is part of his character, so he keeps it going
In one of the like. Brockhampton funny moments vids you see he's reading a book, and then the camerman tries to get him to say something but instead he says some dumb incomprehensible shit
He's doing this on purpose, he isnt actually dumb, and that line from sweet really shows that
...it's kind of funny though, when theyre doing interviews and all he says is merlyn but curtly
Really glad this video showcased how intelligent of a dude he is. Will/Merlyn and I were pretty decent friends in high school so Im glad to see that the side of him that would talk about Paul Thomas Anderson films and read Bukowski during lunch is getting through to his fans. He really is a tremendous talent with a rare intellect and I wish that was more obvious to people.
Connor Morgan guys got taste
Do you two still talk?
Connor! whats good man?
Ur also the guy that used to skate wit Matt right?
i liked their nardwuar interview but kinda sad they all got meaningful gifts and Merlyn only got a Hannah Montana vinyl
it wasn’t even a vinyl, it was a 2011 calendar 😂😩
YEAH I THOUGHT THAT WAS WHACK TOO LIKE COMMON.
It's because Nardwuar typically uses an artist's parents for information on them, but, as you can tell from the video, Merlyn doesn't get on with his parents, so he was limited for information on his interests.
Damn UT architecture is one of the hardest majors to get into at this school. Merelyn must be smart as hell
When I heard his MILK verse I literally had to pause the music and think about what he said for a bit. I stood there and realized that he really is just another human and we can relate to him and all of the Brockhampton members. MILK is probably one their rawest tracks ever & will always be a favorite
Jose Gurrola same with dearly departed
the only brockhampton song ive vibed with before was boogie but then one day i listened to saturation I for fun and i was fucking blown away by milk. like i suffer from c-ptsd so even the chorus of that song cuts me deep. just the feeling of wanting to be wanted by anybody. even though i cant relate to the racism side of the song, it's still raw as hell and is definitely one of my go to songs now when i feel alone and unwanted
at the Chicago show of the Love Your Parents Tour Kevin said that Merlyn was the smartest one in the group
an underrated queen
King
Saturation three is SATURATED with good merlyn verses, i mean liquid, stupid, bleach but the best has to be zipper......HEAD WAS CLEEEAAANN TONY FANTANO
STAMINA STAMINA
HOTTIE aswell
i love boogie as well
RAJIV they see me in the street and say “Willie, “Willie!”
This video summed up why I absolutely love Merlyn; every time he's on a track YOU KNOW it's Merlyn, but he actually spits some real shit.
His verse on NATION is absolutely amazing too
You know it's merlyn because he shouts his name
**plays STUPID** .........MERLYNNNNN
on NATION he literally says African Power 3 times and that's it
EXACTLY (lol mb I thought he did some of Dom's verse for some reason, still an amazing song tho)
Another beautiful video my man
my favorite merlyn verse is on milk. and it's probably his most underrated verse.
the mmfd word.
Can you do a video on romil and jabari and how brockhamptons best members are arguably the producers? Because none of us would have paid attention to the raps and thus gotten into BH if the beats on star, heat,or gold werent soooo good
Agreed!!
Definitely especially on AAT, I think Joba helped with a lot of the production as well
and kiko yo
KING GEEDRA Well said
NoirMusic93 Joba does all the mixing and mastering as well. Which is also really important.
Blew my mind when I started listening to BH and realised Merlyn’s verses on SWIM and HEAT were both him
i’m used to being the loud crazy friend that no one can take seriously and that no one really expects to be smart or bothered by anything, and it gets old real fast, i feel for merlyn
i don't see many people talking about fake, but merlyn's verse specifically used to make me cringe at how vulgar it was at first. then i actually listened to it, and heard the ad-libs in it, and those made me realize that the entire song is about how a lot of people in the entertainment industry choose to be fake and put on personas.
Jarryd Saly nice
Jarryd Saly Yea I love that verse and song
Jarryd Saly wow I never thought of it that way, that's amazing!!! man I just have much more appreciation for Merlyn now
MERLYN! MERLYN!
im blaming you for my current obssesion with brockhampton
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
fr everybody thinks im gay when i tell em there's this lit rap boyband they need to check out lmao
Merlyn is by far the most quotable member for me. My personal favorite is “I GOT ADDICTED TO SOFT SHELL TACOS”
I'm pretty sure the line "Don't call me stupid, that ain't the way my name pronounced" is pretty fucking genius, it expresses so much.
Merlyn is my favorite Brockhampton member, most versatile member behind Joba and Kevin, most energetic, all my favorite verses and seems like the coolest guy. Plus, his solo stuff is sick
Without a doubt my favorite member. He kills every track, is inventive, creative, and the most unique rush of energy that contemporary music needs. No one else is Merlyn.
I was especially impacted by Merlyn on his verse in TONYA with the iridescence album. that hit me and the background of merlyn really told me more throughout the verse. "Daddy said 'study or get that cash.' Mommy said 'Your career ain't gon last.'"
the way he comes off is really ironic and I love it. a persona is goofy and child-like, yet his lyrics are deep and mature. it shows how some people put on a mask to hide past traumas, especially children. a lot of people in society today hide their true selves when they really need help. it's fucking genius. well done merlyn.
Merlyn is easily my favorite of the group.
if you haven’t heard his verse on INFATUATION then you’ve never heard a real hook.
the entire song is just amazing
WE ALL GONNA DIE ONE DAY
now his hook on where the cash out
HIS BEST SONG
I NEED A HONEY BUTTA!!!
OOOOOOH WEEEEE
*MERLYN*
One of my friends said that whenever he hears Merlyn on a track, it sounds like someone bursted in the studio and stole the mic.
Love ur vids bro, keep killing it. Would love to see something about Frank Ocean or Kendrick
thanks man! I appreciate the consistent support. Yeah I have the video on Moon River but that's not reaaallly a Frank video. Those are probably my two favorite artists over the past 5 years or so, so there'll be something on them soon
Merlyn has always been my favorite member. When I first started listening you can always tell when he comes in, and I noticed that all of my favorite songs on the trilogy were songs that he was featured heavily in. He's so recognizable and charismatic in a group that doesn't need poetic geniuses. SWEET is my favorite bh song obviously, but that's because it's not deep, take it at face value, and it's genius. The way everything flows so perfectly together with the best merlyn verse and one of doms best verses makes this one of my favorite songs of all time as well.
Merlyn is my husband thank you
sabine rose no mine
Demetra L. ;)
merlyns probably my favourite member of the group, he just seems like such an interesting guy and someone i would genuinely love to meet
i love how in sweet when he completely changes themes he also changes his voice, really good video
YEESSSSSSSSS. THIS IS MERLYN WOOD MAN. EVERYWHERE I GO IS THE WOODLANDS.
merlyn’s voice tho..damn the flavor
So happy to see these videos on the individual members, and honestly they could all deserve one, because of how much each member brings to the table. Much love
Merlyn’s verse on swim was when I realized that he’s more than who he portrays himself to the public. The man can get really deep sometimes “had a dream last night that she loved me back” 😭😭😭💔💔💔
he’s like a pokémon saying his own name.
Really enjoying these analyzation videos, man. Hope you end up doing one for Dom McLennon in the future, he's so underrated that it should be criminal.
His NEW ORLEANS verse is still stuck in my head, he's so dope
Wtf i always thought that was kevin doing that part on sweet and then merlyn hops back in
agh good channel my man!! love these channels of music essays. lately ive been unmotivated to make music but watching these videos always gets me in the mood. thanks man
I’d love to hear you talk about Cuco, Boy Pablo, or Mac Demarco. Great points being explored in all your videos
i urge people to listen to his solo work
Jude Coffey culdesac bro. Culdesac. Amazing song
lazy wood, forget me not
Ameer has amazing solo work as well. I’m sorry and sincerity yours are beautiful works and inspired me to start writing poetry.
Jude Coffey I love him but it’s not good
Da Bossman what songs in particular are u alluding to?
Found you the other day and now you're one of my favorite channels
Great video! I love how merlyn switches between deep stuff and goofy shit
Merlyn is so dope ! Legend in the making
Dude sick vid. I just been gettin into these guys and I always like merlyn for him just bein himself but you shed some more light with this vid about some stuff I didn't know we could get into
merlyn is an icon. he is so much a part of what brockhampton is and what they stand for and I really just have mad respect for him.
"Til you walking 'round the campus and you the only African"
I've got so much more respect for that verse knowing Merlyn's actually born in Africa. At first, I though he just meant African-American, which is not the same thing as actually being African. But I'm not here to give a fuckin history lesson.
Merlyn came clutch with some of his best verses on ginger
Can I just say, I love your editing style a lot and your videos are really nice to watch!!!!
dude your videos are incredible i love your smooth talking and opinions

xL3MN nice
dude i love all of your brockhampton vids, especially bearface's, I have a total different view on him now. thank you for the uploads!
Merlyn offers so much! I love him, great video ❤️
Merlynthony Woodtano here.
I love him so much! They always find him reading a book and chillin. He is crazy on stage and in interviews but he is such a down to earth dude.
Wow you summarized my first impression of him perfectly in the last minute and not because i have skills to spot that gem or anything but there's always that type of person in a group and since i admire them so much it's easy for me spot them
Bless your channel and feeding my love of BROCKHAMPTON
please keep doing these, i love these videos
The Danny Brown of the group
This is great. I always loved Merlyn's distinct voice and sound and its great to have some background on him as a person.
I love him so much thanks for making this
THANK YOU, ever since I cried while listening to his verse in milk he's been my favorite
yes! my favorite member! love ur vids man
Subbed. Love how analytical you are towards the members. Have a great weekend
Love your vids , literally just found out about them (I know I’m late af) but they’re my new favorite group an this helps a lot !
Alfo Media
Thank you making this
Milk is my absolute favorite Brockhampton song. It exemplifies why Dom is the best lyrical artist in the group. A touching verse that I always go back to when I need a helping hand. But that’s not all. Merlyn’s verse is also why it’s my favorite. It’s different to how he usually raps, and speaks volumes to the pressures that parents give their kids in school. I hope Merlyn does more verses like this with that kind of tone.
I love this man with all my life
this is a phenomenal video, dude
I feel like he talks about his hardships and many other hardships with a bit of a smile and a laugh but still makes it deep enough to make you feel a bit.
I love these videos, thank you 👌🏽
thanks! I appreciate it
hes the BIGGEST intellectual i have ever seen like in the documentaries everyone is loud and RUCKUS but merlyn reads a book ya
Keep it up! Loving these vids
this is a great video. i hope merlyn has seen/sees this. hope he realizes we recognize his effort and talent
Merlyn is pure energy
This was dope thank you
Every time his verses came on I cried
in all of the live videos/behind the scenes they do it seems like merlyn is the calmest one, he’s always reading a book or something
Always love your videos
Another great vid man
Amazing video man. Would love to see you do something on King Krule one day!
I would die for this man
You don’t know how much I got recommended this video
Yes! He deserves all the respect in the world
4:53 I had always listened to that like it was nothing, like you had mentioned because of how Merlyn raps it but now that you had pointed out the "broke-ass rich suburbs, a civillian shot in 3rd Ward, we just by the fountain" line, it had really hit me understanding what it meant
I love this man 😭😭
You are so goood man, creative and interesting af
thanks! I appreciate it
