I never played the original SW4 game, so this was a surprise for me. I hope that the next Dynasty Warriors game is like 8 in terms of gameplay. We really don't need another Empires version.
And 2, yeah, it probably would've been a better idea to hire a team of devs to make some sort of collection or get some cool merch out instead of rereleasing the same game again, at least with anniversary collections and merchandise, it's making sure newer fans can play the older games, or it's something new, made just for the anniversary, heck if they hire a compony outside Koei for the collection, like how Capcom hired I think it was Digital Eclipse for the Street Fighter anniversary collection, and some other rereleases, that way they can focus on the new games, and still rake in some extra cash at the same time.

Personally Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is the best Musou game in my humble imo. I'm am glad these games are getting ported its just weird that most of the Musou games are Japanese exclusive on the Switch.
i am happy that the game got released, but yeah, the problem is the price, Mosou games are practically the same game repackaged and this is a decade old game, watching this reminded me of playing Samurai Warriors on the 3ds, those are the same assets... why would i spend money on this game if i can grab any modern game or Orochi 3 if i have to pick?. if the games are cheaply made, they should be cheap to buy

A sideline irony is that: Nobunaga's Ambition, intended to only build worlds around Nobunaga actually include the whole realm of Sengoku Period. SW5 is vice versa. I'm just going to wait for a price drop before purchasing it, in order to fill in what SW4II can't provide.
Re-releasing a decade-old game at that price is a bit naughty naughty, hihihi! It's a decent deal for newcomers, but for longtime fans, it feels a tad disappointing. Hopefully, we'll see something fresh and exciting from them soon, hihihi!

But for me this port couldnt come at a better time for someone who only have a Switch and Steam deck. Not gonna argue thats its wrong to be disappointed with this port but for me I'm really glad that it happened

I find it kind of a weird move to re-release the vanilla game as a "new gen port" rather than the latest game "4-II". I know that imma buy it anyways, especially that the 4-II version is not very playable on PC for the controller issues that it has.
We need a new generation of samurai warriors and know what I mean new characters in samurai warriors even bring back conquest mode heck bring all the modes back to samurai warriors 10 and we definitely need a new generation of dynasty warriors with new characters a new shi a new wu and a new wei and definitely a new jin
If this game looks like what we're seeing in this video on PC, it isn't worth more than 20$ given the repetitive gameplay. No effort has been made to deserve more than that. (60 fps cap, really ? in 2024 ?)
I wonder what DX means? Deluxe Xtreme? Anyways, if one searches for "Samurai Warriors 4" on the PlayStation store, most of the DLC included in DX can be seen. A confusing mess of individual and bundled sets of scenarios, weapons, and costumes. I've always disliked Koei's "death by a thousand cuts" DLC practices so it is nice to see ultimate editions that clears away the confusion of "what am I missing out of?" Still gonna wait for a sale, though!
Just tried it, horrible, lazy port. I absolutely loved Samurai Warriors 4 on the PS4 but I can't even change to fullscreen mode. Plus no ultrawide support let alone max resolution of 1080p in 2024, are you joking? AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card (latest driver) and Intel Core i9-12900K running in latest Windows 11. Even on max settings game still looks horrible as if something is not working. Put in a refund request. 😢

Nice, SW4-II has been on PC for a long time but I like the storylines in the original better!
I whole heartedly agree about the release of a recent good warriors game. Like Dynasty warriors 10, but make it good.

Got it on sale for $35. Steam Deck verified. So far, so good.

I played 4 before on PS4 several years ago.
I never played the original Samurai Warriors 4 back in PS4 10 years ago, so this is a definite Steam collection for me
they messed up the forces color, for example, Tokugawa in red instead of blue, Oda in crimson instead of purple etc
i will wait until they release dynasty warriors 5 vanilla, Xtreme legends or empire
