Wow!!! Awsome video i cant belive how much prawns you caught!!! Ive been prawning up the coast and usually only bring home only 10 to 15 prawns MAX! What prawn net is that? The ones they sell these days that i bought most of the prawns i scoop end up falling threw the holes of the net 😕 im acually keen to make a night trip down to lake illawarra to see if i can bring home some of those tasty buggers! Thumbs up to you!!
The nets we use are old ones that we only have a few of, they don't sell nets like these anymore you have to find them around if people are selling them, the ones they sell the holes are way to big!! I know some people use landing nets with the mesh that only has small holes but you can only scoop a few at a time and have to empty out into a bucket because the net isn't long. The lake prawns aren't the biggest but they are the tastiest!! Good luck prawning hope you catch a feed!! 😃
@@jyep1999 haha its awsome that you no exactly what im talking about! Ive visited almost all the fishing shops in sydney. They all keep trying to say its a 1 size net! I still have my old one but it has way to many tears in it from age!! You think any shops down your way would have the fine mesh prawn nets? Haha i acually bought a butterfly net but can only catch one prawn at a time 😂😂
@@jaygee3326 All the fishing shops down here are the same, my net gets holes in it too from age just have to keep repairing it. I've seen on ebay you can buy a replacement net but I'm not sure how big the holes are.
@@jyep1999 i did purchase a replacement ebay one, holes way too big and did not fit the net as listed that it would 😆 im still on the hunt for one of the older prawn nets, i will eventually find one haha
After all the net serching i did i found a shop down your way cslled aussiedisposals, on therr website it looks like they have the exact net with small holes but have not had time off to head down wollongong way yet

The bottom of the Lake looks barren. I dont think we should be taking the filter feeders yet, until the Lake picks up a bit more.
