I've owned this radio for the past couple of years based on one of your earlier reviews and it is one of the most sensitive and selective AM sets, and beats many of my other newer and older high quality receivers. In the 60's and 70's Panasonic made many models of AM only and AM-FM transistor radios and all of them were solid performers. If you are looking for more vintage Panasonic radios to review try the RF-915 and the RF-951 models. Both are quality built AM-FM sets with super sensitivity and both are AC plug-in or battery operated. They both can pull in distant stations on their own day and night and can be great DXers with the Terk Advantage loop antenna. They also feature good FM reception and good quality audio. You can find these models on Ebay for usually between 20 to 35 dollars, depending on their condition.
Hej Todderbert thanks for the bandscan nice radio yes just posted a video on the Aiwa RS-33 pocket radio I bought I'm very happy with it I must say I didn't have high hopes for it but I was pleasantly surprised. I took a chance when I bought the Aiwa RS-33 you know sometimes it can be a junk radio but I like this pocket radio. Now I'm going to test more Prunus J-125, which also arrived, but I also like it a lot take care a d have nice evening and weekend.
I used to have one of these back in the early 90s I picked up for like $4 at a thrift store. Ahhh... the days before ebay. I could kill myself now for getting rid of it years ago, but living in a 1BR apt, I just had way too many radios in my collection! Might even be the one that made it to you!
I have that radio I think mine is an older version.Made in Japan ,and the Panasonic lettering is of the older style. Also have 2 other versions R-1597 and R-1599
(paid link below) As an eBay Partner, I may be compensated if you make a purchase.
