This is how the game looked on DS, I spent like 300 hours on it as a kid and of course the nostalgia makes me think it was crystal clear 4k 144hz in my head hahaha

Not including controls, I don't get why everyone hated this game so much. I personally prefer it over the N64 version any day.

Relax I love this game it even introduced Mario's new brotherhood group which marks his family, it's my favourite
Personally, I prefer the N64 game because having to switch between characters is annoying, especially since you can only do it in one part of the castle.

Did you know that you can unlock wario with yoshi and the dialogue is very rare as Cheif chilly says yoshi has no mustache and stuff and you can unlock Mario with wario.

Wario is in a Frozen Mountain Range
As a kid, I was unable to unlock Luigi or wario because i never knew about the 3rd floor of the ghost house and obviously without luigi, you can't unlock wario.
Without the internet, I wouldn't know that you have to look up in the light to gain access for the red switch stage

This was honestly the most exciting part for me as a kid. I played game on 64 then on DS again for the added stuff. Probably wouldn’t do that today since it’s mostly the same game

Oh my god the fat mario flying music is such a cute remix, ive never really bothered with the DS edition it just seems so rough and messy compared to the real 1 and Ive played that 100s of times anyways plus rom hacks lol. cool to see some of the extras they added on top of the characters themselves

It's so weird that Wario was actually playable in a mainline Super Mario game instead of only being playable in sports and racing games because if the game were made now Toad would be playable like in the New Super Mario Bros series
Fun Fact: Super Mario 64 DS is the 3rd mainline Mario game that Wario appears in.
Wow. I thought Prosafia would but it into a compilation like they usually do, but they decided to unlock the 8 star door, Big Boo's haunt, and the third floor of the castle, all ready to make a video of them unlocking every character in the game.
That's what I call dedication.

@@declangaming24 It’s not that I don’t believe you. I initially meant that Wario being the last unlockable character, didn’t really have a boss in particular that he himself needed to beat.
Since I don’t really look for glitches to exploit, I certainly wouldn’t have known about hidden dialogue. So, thank you. ^^

sorry but how was literally anyone meant to figure out luigi, i couldnt even figure out how to get the power ups activated

If you go for 100 percent, then eventually you'll see the Luigi painting in big boo's haunt and you should be using the DS speakers to listen for King Boo's Laugh. Once inside the boss room, go towards the middle and wait.
To turn on the power ups, press the X button to look into the light after around collecting 15 stars.
I remember playing this with the share game with like three other people in preschool or kindergarten or somewhere near there and we would always fight over who would be Mario also we were always run around and try to get to Mario before everyone else who was really fun and I’ve been searching around for this game for a long time it was so fun to play as a different characters there’s a bunch of Yoshi‘s running around trying to grab a different hats it was fun

Umm, thats actually a wario head from a beta build presentation of sm64, where he was seen with the entrance background of dire dire docks
@@tjclews maybe it was a bug or a unused boss or ghost phase, maybe it was just a coincidence with the e3 things and the background with the wario teaches typing head that is from an unreleased game.

Its weird how I always thought that you had to u lock all of the characters in the castle but Luigi is the only character that you unlock through a Course and I thought that you had to unlock Luigi using the painting that reflects Wario in the mirror 😭😭
