Another amazing video ty ! Btw I am guessing you are using the device in High performance for these ? Hos is the fan noise ? Also how much battery can you get with this demanding emulation ? Is it at least 3h or is it less ? Thank you ! Maybe try some 3DS games they look and run pretty good as well on this device and 3DS library is amazing :)
Lovely work brother. I'm trying to push my RG556 to the max. It's my first Retro Handheld, I mostly played PC and NDS growing up. Loving range I get; mostly discovering PSP, Vita and Switch rn. Not perfect, but part of the charm. I'm coming to appreciate that I may have to get comfortable using multiple emulators for Switch.
Thanks bro!! Love hearing that, my first retro handheld was the Dingoo A320 LOL. I’m also all about pushing handhelds to the max. How’s Vita performance on RG556? Vita is my fav handheld but I haven’t dived into emulating it yet
Vita performance is absolutely wonderful compared to other chipsets in this price range minus getting the config for the backpad set up! (I didn't make it that far) In particular, I played about 3 hours of borderlands 2, but a lot of the Vita catalog works well
Big fan of my RG556 so far, but i think i might need to work on mine a bit as i had an instance where it corrupted all my data on the device. In addition, it appears to randomly turn off and on again. Looking forward to more content! I appreciate your sense of humor and quality presentation.
Thanks for the support!! Such a bummer that yours got corrupted. Do you think it was a bad SD card? The random power on/off sounds brutal too. Hopefully you can figure that out or get a refund asap! Good luck homie.
Rg556 is my main device backed up by the trimu Smart pro. I don't jump on every device and I rather play gamepass on an Amoled screen so power is not an issue plus I have tons of retro games that play at normal speeds.
Game streaming is perfect for these devices! I've been playing No Mans Sky using Moonlight on my Odin 2 Mini lately. Being able to play games via streaming, retro games on device, and some modern switch games makes them awesome to have around.
I would much appreciate more of these tests on the RG556. I always want to test more Switch games but I just can't find the time! Is there a compatibility list for Skyline were I can check which games will run fine?
Thanks homie!! I feel that when it comes to finding time. There’s no Skyline-specific compatibility list, but there’s an RG556 emulation compatibility sheet linked in the description. In the Switch tab, you’ll find all the games that the community + I have tested!
If they watching me sleep then I’ll leave the door open u feel me?!! Modded lites are pretty hard to find reliably for $200. But if you only plan on playing switch games, then I absolutely recommend original hardware!
That’s an awesome deal, $180 for a modded lite is sweet! For both microsd cards, playing games should be the same experience. But for transferring a lot of games or adding more games, I’d recommend the Sandisk Extreme since it’ll have 4x faster write speed and 2.5x faster read speed. That’s the only real difference between them
@keepitshort4208 Yea that’s really hard to watch out for. I once got a fake microsd card from ebay and it was extremely slow & buggy. I think if you’re able to get a new Sandisk card from a good store or Amazon, then most likely it’ll be legit. I’d recommend testing the card out the day you buy it in case it’s buggy/fake, so you can return if it is.
Hi :) I don't think this is the right video to ask you this question but I'll try anyway. The retroid pocket 5 will be released soon, which as they say will have a snapdragon 665 CPU and 8gb of LPDDR4x ram. Compared to a Razer Edge, which actually has a Snapdragon 888+ CPU and 6gb of LPDDR5x ram, do you think it will perform better or less? I would like to understand which of the two, in case you wanted to emulate the switch, would be more suitable. Thanks in advance!
Heyo sorry for the late reply! I think you mean Retroid Pocket 5 will have a Snapdragon 865? Emulation will probably be noticeably better on the Razer Edge too, given it's 16% higher CPU and 40% higher GPU performance. But interestingly, the stats don't directly translate to native android gaming FPS. I'm checking out some comparison results between similar devices and it's really close: nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-875-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-865 I think switch Emulation performance will probably be better on the Razer Edge. I'm guessing around 10-20% better, but I'm also concerned that the 6GB of RAM might be a bottleneck. Also one more thing to keep in mind -- FORM FACTOR. The Razer Edge looks like it has an awesome screen and refresh rate, but it has a Razer Kishi V2 for a controller, so ergonomically it might not stand up to the Retroid Pocket 5. I've found that comfort and controls are a big factor for me personally, so it's a MUST to consider your personal values when looking into these handhelds.
Bruh just copy past this content for the RPMini/RP5 and guarantee they'll pop off. The retro handheld community is niche but stupidly loyal lol. If you can stay committed to the YT grind with this level of production and personality you'll go far.
Really appreciate the support dude!! I’m hyped af that people are enjoying this content. Ordered the RPMini last week so definitely gonna check that out + share performance showcases. Thanks for the support again bro!!
I’ve been considering and RP4 pro, but I haven’t looked at this one at all. Does this device output video through USB C, like is it dockable? That price point is really good for what it can do. How is the initial setup?
It can dock BUT it doesn’t charge when you’re playing docked. So you have to either charge it playing handheld or play docked without it charging. Kind of annoying :/ The initial setup was pretty easy. Lots of emulators built in by default. I spent some time customizing it, like installing switch emulators and a frontend. The frontend I use is called ES-DE, which Retro Game Corps has a helpful tutorial on setting up! Both RG556 & RP4 Pro are awesome devices so can’t go wrong with either
I think Bayonetta 2 on chapter III gonna crash most emulator does but i fix it but turning off driver and just play it black screen since it autosave i just have to login it back to game and next the scene i cant play i already skip
@MontoTechs yah some game do seem playable at the start but later the issue come for story like game you can have to prepare for that for like game that have slow pacing and without sudden shift of enemy it will rarely break the game played monster hunter generations ultimate seem in good game but haven't played for long period of time
I can’t discuss where to download switch games but searching Google or Reddit might help!! This handheld runs on Android, so that might be helpful when searching.
My previous RGG556 Switch Games video has some more games tested ruclips.net/video/icuVgDuHVvI/видео.html But we’re emulating these games, so bigger games might be incompatible or run poorly. You can find a list of compatible games in the description!
I just heard about that!! Seems like the android port is early beta so performance isn’t great. But I’m gonna check it out and see if it’s compatible with the RG556. Would be pretty nice to have it as another emulator option
Oh sick! That’s great. I’m filming some switch emulation testing soon to compare RG556 & RP4 Pro performance so I’ll give that a shot on them. Thanks for the rec
It’s a bit harder to reliably find a modded switch lite for $200. And unfortunately the switch lite is notorious for being the hardest switch to jailbreak (requiring advanced soldering skills + a modchip) so I wouldn’t recommend buying a switch lite expecting to easily jailbreak it! If you can find a modded switch lite for $200 and only plan on playing switch games, then I absolutely recommend playing on the original hardware!

MORE OF THIS, CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE TWO VIDEOS
Thank you so much homie!!
Just discovered your channel this is a great video and the 556 is my sleeper device of the year. Good stuff man I subscribed
Thanks man!! 556 is my sleeper fav too. Such a great device for the price, really can’t go wrong

Another banger. More than just checking cool games to emulate, I also leave with cool games to buy and play on my switch.
Thanks Bruno!! Really appreciate it!!
Love ur recommendations dont stop making vids❤❤
Thanks so much!!! 💜

I cannot believe some of these games work....like Luigi's Mansion 2 I played on 3ds I'll definitely replay.
Same!! Plays great on RG556 and the remaster looks awesome on OLED. Great way to replay!

If they watching me sleep then I’ll leave the door open u feel me?!!

That’s an awesome deal, $180 for a modded lite is sweet!

Il love this type of content : playing not retro games on "retro handhelds"
Thanks!! Totally agree. Love pushing handhelds to play “impossible” games
Goooood stuff ❤
Thanks homie!! 💜

I was waiting for zelda botw but saw none
Sorry didn’t even realize that UI theme had the BotW background. It’s an Emulation Station ES-DE theme called Art Book Next

It doesn’t come bundled with Switch games! It’s only capable of emulating some games. There’s a compatibility list link in the description

@@MontoTechs it has great performance compare to yuzu mate and their are a lots of games that can play smoother at 60fps

@@MontoTechs okay mate i cant wait to see your next video..
Can it Run Zelda BOTW ?
Unfortunately not, BoTW crashes on startup. Definitely needs a powerful device like Odin 2 Pro to run it and get a playable framerate
You can buy a switch lite for 200 dollar and also jailbreak it play free games. That'll be mich better than this
It’s a bit harder to reliably find a modded switch lite for $200. And unfortunately the switch lite is notorious for being the hardest switch to jailbreak (requiring advanced soldering skills + a modchip) so I wouldn’t recommend buying a switch lite expecting to easily jailbreak it!
