Jenny, I always make beautiful hydrangea wreaths when I cut back the blooms...simply stick the blooms into a grapevine wreath form, really make it full. They dry beautifully.
Jenny, you’re the best! Today you mentioned fertilizing this way because you “can’t get it together” to do water-soluble fertilizer. I love that you know yourself as a gardener as much as being a student of your garden itself. If you know that one method will not work for your lifestyle, find another method to make your plants happy. That’s much more peaceful than continually struggling/stressing to do that one method. Thank you for the reminder!
I was a summer pruning skeptic before I found you, but I channeled my "inner Jenny" and gave my Creekside Saffron Finches a major haircut. Just wow! You were right (of course) and they have bounced back better than ever. Thank you for giving me the courage to whack those babies back!
Hello, Jenny❤. First, thank you for your continuous informative content! Secondly, I can confidently say, I’ve graduated to “Prune for Success” University! I went “a whacking” in my garden about a month ago in preparation for our Family Gathering at the end of this month and oh my, thank the Good Lord, they are ready to shine and say hello to our guests! I look forward to what you have to educate us with each time you come on🥰. Love and appreciate you❤! P.S. I love the close up looks showing us what you’re doing👍🏻.
Hello from London UK dear Jenny 😃 I have discovered your beautiful nursery through the videos of Kim from Backyard Blooms with Kim that I am a huge fan of and only now realised that you had a YT channel. I can just imagine how happy you would be right now in London UK as we are still waiting for summer to arrive with temperatures reaching a "staggering" 66o Fahrenheit at the warmest part of the day 😅. Cutting off the magnificent blooms of your hydrangeas is indeed a brave move but I will be interested to see this Fall second flush to happen. I agree that sometimes gardening is about making bold moves for the sake of the plant and its blossoming. I am trying to keep up with my water soluble fertiliser schedule but it is indeed quite a commitment. I am loving your detailed explanations and will happily be following your new videos. Happy Sunday 😊💚
Jenny you are tough, give yourself credit, this HEAT is unbelievable with the humidity. Your garden still looks amazing, enjoy your break traveling even if it’s for work….❤😎
You have an enchanting ability to reveal the secrets of nature's beauty, guiding us to nurture and cherish garden treasures. Your videos share wisdom and passion, illuminating the art of cultivating lasting beauty with grace and expertise. And I am Floating Village Life
Great video. I'm anxious to see how the hydrangeas do after pruning. I need to get out and prune my Angelface. Thanks for sharing that. As always I learn from your knowledge. Thanks. 😊❤
Cut my cleome back before we left on vacation for two weeks, and when we returned, it was like it never missed a beat! Yes, this has already been a long season-seems we have been planting since the end of February here in 8a in Louisiana! Everything needs a rest! And also, got to love a break in the heat!
Hi Jenny: It was fun watching your video and to see your beautiful annabelle, lavendar, and now will be reminded to occasionally top-dress some plants that are looking like they need some food. Many people comment on seeing good results from Land & Sea. Spent four hours in the garden today starting at 7:00am and humidity wasn't as high as it sometimes is. Watered, mulched, & sprayed weeds that are coming up through the gravel in the driveway and we do need to put more down so will ask landscapers to do the job! I am going to wind up mulching & Noah & crew can put down landscape fabric on the area that winds around the left hand side of the house. All in all a very good day and hope yours was too and you'll have an even better evening! Your gardens always look so beautiful and well maintained.
I’m in zone 5 and usually prune my hydrangeas back around late July due to Japanese beetle damage, and they always rebloom. My growing season is shorter than yours, so I don’t get to see the second flush at it’s peak, but they still show out for me! I’m sure your smooth hydrangea will do the same.
Hey y’all! Target also has the pop up bags in their outdoor area. I got one 4 or 5 years ago and I still have it. Not the same brand but the same product.
Thx for the tips. Don’t throw out those beautiful hydrangea blooms!! They dry so beautifully. I have the same problem with my lavender plants. I hope you can follow up to see if they grow back. Thx again!!
Hi Jenny…what do you think about using Espoma TPS Triple Phosphate Fertilizer? I’m just looking for a Big Bang for my buck I recently saw this but I’m not sure if it’s safe to use on my annuals
I followed your recommendations for the angelonia in the planting beds along my hot driveway. The plant survived the recent hot hot dry weather like a trooper. This is my 2025 filler annual along the driveway and a companion between candy corn Spirea.
This information is so much more pragmatic and interesting than Laura garden answer . I’m going to try the hydrangeas prune. A tree came down near mine and it suffered from the arborist work. Connecticut 6a
A couple of weeks ago, I pruned my mini mauvette that I got from Creekside 3 years ago. I'm already stsrting to get a tiny bit of new blooms. Mauvette definitely lives up to the the sleep, creep, leap. This year, I was close to changing it out for something else but then a few weeks later it was like wow, how gorgeous. BTW, do you still have annuals? I have a few pots that I need to get finished.
Great video on pruning the hydrangeas. Now can you please address whether to do the same to limelight hydrangea standards and Pinky Winky standards that have been battered by our crazy southern rains in Zone 8A? If the standards are pruned now will they have time to reflush and be beautiful for the Fall season and maybe maybe have a tinge of the pink that our northern friends see on their panicles? Only the standards are flopping in our garden while the bushes have held up well. Thanks for the info and maybe a video to come. Stay cool during these 97 degree days that seem to be the norm this summer.
I just purchased a Puffer Fish ( had to get on line, so only quart size ) and two @ 2-gallon size Little Lime Punch this week (local nursery had 40% sale) ! Now I have to stop buying as I have to enlarge my gardens ! 🥰🌸🇨🇦
Good morning Jenny! What type of hooks did Jerry use to put up the trellises? Did you fertalize the lavender as well? I love the lavender that i bought from your nursery. They are small but beautiful! Any information that you share is always well needed. Thank you!
I just love looking at your gardens. Yall do such good hard work. Question-what is the bottom of your deck box made of? Drain holes? I want my hubby to make one.
I just pruned back my angelonia a few days ago! Do you re-fertilize any other perennials in mid summer besides those particular hydrangeas? I thought you had mentioned in another video mid summer is about the time to apply a 2nd round of the PW Continuous Release. Is this just for annuals or for flowering perennials as well? Really enjoying your videos! I've had a few flower casualties this week which really makes me sad. Spider Mites caused the premature death of 2 of my annual verbena. I have 4 Homestead Purple Verbenas in a different bed and 3 look amazing but one looks like it's dying. Can't find any evidence of bugs. Thinking our irrigation wasn't providing enough water for it and I didn't catch it. I pruned it slightly, watered it and prayed over it (lol) hoping it will recover.
Do those glass art pieces have any danger of knocking over in the strong hurricane winds? I get hurricanes each year and am worried about putting something I love out there just to be blown away.
My panicle hydrangea has flopped this year after a rain storm. Can i prune them back like you are doing on the smooth hydrangea and expect more blooms by fall
Wondering if I can fertilize my hydrangeas with hollytone instead ? I also fertilized my whole garden with plantone, wasn’t sure if that’s a routine schedule for garden beds
Jenny I just don't understand how you keep your incrediball's happy in the sun like that. I have mine on east side of my house they get morning sun, I'm zone 3B northern Canada and man do they pout and are super dramitic by about noon. What's your secret ?
After our last heavy rain my 3 limelight standard trees completely fell apart. They are four years old now with long stems and huge blooms. Some of the stems broke off due to the weight. Should I just go in and cut out several branches to lighten it up, and if so do I prune back drastically? I have tried to stake some of the branches but they are all crossing and very heavy, even though I pruned out crossing limbs and spindly branches in late winter. Not sure how I should prune next Spring to prevent flopping to this extent. Any advice will be so appreciated!
I know it's good for them but I just don't have the heart to cut all the blooms off my incrediball when it's looking so good lol. The most I can do is cut off the browning blooms. I may have missed it (kids were fighting lol) but how to you prune your hardy hibiscus to keep it blooming? Each evening I go out and cut off the old wilted blooms so that in the morning it has fresh new blooms. I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not. I mainly do it because I don't like the look of the wilted blooms and fallen wilted blooms on the ground.
I looked on gardener supply company for that 55 gallon canvas bag And they keep coming back and they don't know what I'm talking about So could you send me a link or something So I can find it Please and thank you

What a fabulous tip!!!
Thank you for that tip!!! Gonna do that today.

Thank you for giving me courage to wack my annuals. I've been doing that this year with great results. I love your gardens!!

It's not even my space and I feel so much better with all the tidy plants now. lol I am excited to see how this experiment turns out.
Jenny " I'm gonna do it, yes I am"! 😂😂
Thank you for the up close pruning instructions !!! They definitely decrease my fear of messing up my plants!!!
Thanks for your advice on pruning my Vermillionaire. I’m now getting new growth.
Missed that. What did she say? Mine have never really grown much. Thanks.

Learnt a lot from this video as I have some of the same plants in my Australian garden.
This is my first year to try rose tone on my hydrangeas. I’m hoping they like it! Thank you for all the tips.
Perfect video! We are having a heat wave here in CA and I did prune back some plants. Happy to hear it’s okay because I was not sure.
Hey y’all! Target also has the pop up bags in their outdoor area. I got one 4 or 5 years ago and I still have it. Not the same brand but the same product.

I’m loving all your informative videos. Thank you!
Morning Jenny! Stay cool & hydrated! 💕💕🌸🌻
Good morning Jenny, Wow your hydrangeas look so beautiful!💕 My limelight’s are just now blooming. I’m in zone 6b, Utah.
I also do the "one more" thing! I call it cookie-ing inspired by the "If you give a mouse a cookie" books. The lights are gorgeous!!!
YES!!!!! 🙌🏻 m definitely the mouse with a cookie 😂
Another great informative vedio, thank you Jenny. Have a blessed day.
Great video. I noticed you have an Owala tumbler. I love mine.So happy to the pruning of your hydrangeas.
That water bottle is keeping me cool & hydrated this summer!!!

Good morning Jenny! What type of hooks did Jerry use to put up the trellises? Did you fertalize the lavender as well? I love the lavender that i bought from your nursery. They are small but beautiful! Any information that you share is always well needed. Thank you!
The 3 trellises on the wall? They came with hooks on the back so we just had to screw them into the wall. They came from Gardeners Supply Company.
Thank you!
Your garden is gorgeous. ! What type of gardenia do you have?
Adoro assistir os seus vídeos apesar de falar inglês... mas entendo algumas coisas e já estou aprendendo com você. ❤

Jenny!!! I need to know if the hydrangeas will give new growth! I want to use my limelight’s next year for my wedding in September.
Do those glass art pieces have any danger of knocking over in the strong hurricane winds? I get hurricanes each year and am worried about putting something I love out there just to be blown away.
Oh Jenny, I still can't be the Grim Reaper, but I love watching you hack away😅
Would you cut back your limelight primes in the summer like you did with the incrediball hydrangeas?
My panicle hydrangea has flopped this year after a rain storm. Can i prune them back like you are doing on the smooth hydrangea and expect more blooms by fall
Jenny I’m in WV zone 6b I will experiment with pruning my hydrange invincible limetta 🤞
Wondering if I can fertilize my hydrangeas with hollytone instead ? I also fertilized my whole garden with plantone, wasn’t sure if that’s a routine schedule for garden beds
.This was very helpful! You told us why & how. Do you spray your petunias for bud worms? If so, how often? Thank you so much!
Praise the Lord we don’t typically have bud worms here. I may have 1 case every 3-4 years.
Thank you!
Jenny I just don't understand how you keep your incrediball's happy in the sun like that.
I have mine on east side of my house they get morning sun, I'm zone 3B northern Canada and man do they pout and are super dramitic by about noon.

Limelights love to flop. They get so heavy in rain. I wish I knew this when I planted mine.
Are y'all going to Mackinac? Or Proven Winners. My dream. 😊
Proven Winners no longer has the big "festival" in Mackinac
Could you dig up the lavender and divide it.? When my daisy clumps begin to die in the center I know it’s time to ‘divide and conquer’.
I know it's good for them but I just don't have the heart to cut all the blooms off my incrediball when it's looking so good lol. The most I can do is cut off the browning blooms. I may have missed it (kids were fighting lol) but how to you prune your hardy hibiscus to keep it blooming? Prune the whole lavender plant in the spring.
Cut it back to six inches, like Laura.
I have the same problem: my lavender died also. This is it's 2nd year. Not on irrigation.
Ok. Pruning is a good thing in the garden. I will keep telling myself that…. Here goes! …
Where did you get your tool belt and what does it hold?
We have them on our website gardeningwithCreekside.com
It hold clippers, hori hori, gloves, small clippers, any other items that you need
Can I plant my Gardenia outside.I am in 7ab area. Maryland
It will depend on what variety it is, but generally speaking you should be able to.
@@GardeningwithCreekside Thanks
I bet your lavender is getting too much water from the annuals beside them.
Good👍🎉❤🎉job
