I have to admit, the RG503 is a pretty interesting handheld. At least it's more appealing than the RG552. For me, my setup is currently perfect: Miyoo Mini for travel and turn-based stuff, RP2+ for everything else.
4 months later we can say that JelOS has matured well and everything runs fine. Ok, Dreamcast-Performance is still at about 40-50fps, but it's playable. The OLED screen has a little flaw: You really need to crank up the Brightness to at least 80% to get it to the same level of the IPS-Display from rhe RG353p. And the Sound is not as good as on the RP353p, eiter. But the OLED screen stands out and that's the only reason i bought it. The Screen-Protector goes off easy with the latest batches, so no worries, here.
I want to like this!!! I really do. It's so close to budget-perfection but choppy dreamcast performance on a title like Crazy Taxi is unfortunately a deal breaker for me. I don't necessarily need Gamecube and PS2 in a handheld so if it could just get a little boost for DC and PSP, I'd be all over the Ambernic. For an extra $50 however, one could forgo the OLED screen and get a significantly better performing device with the Ayn Odin Lite... If only we could get both
Every iteration of retro handhelds does one great thing (most times) and then gets like everything else wrong. One day we’ll get that perfect handheld! Thanks for watching! 😊
I have a Retroid Pocket Plus 2 as my Nintendo handheld, So I am thinking of getting an extra Vita for just PlayStation. This device is cool, but the Vita is STILL so much more premium and just feels amazing. Good video!
Thanks for the great video, I liked it so much that I bought the console! My RG503 arrived today, however I can't get a single game to work and I have run out of ideas!! I have tried Neo Geo, Mame, Megadrive, GBA, Capcom and Super Nintendo and none of them will load a single game. I press the A button and it goes black then takes me back to the game list. I've never had this happen before, any idea what's going on?
@@ScatteredBrain Thanks for the quick response 👍 I'm actually trying it with the OS that came with it in the box, that's why I can't understand why nothing works. It says it's Anbernic Linux ES V31. It won't load a single game that came loaded in the console, I've never seen anything like this before!!
@@vincemartinelli9689 it’s really interesting that the PRE LOADED games won’t run. Maybe plug the microSD card into your computer and check the size of the ROM files. Take a GBA game as an example since it’ll be a game that’s more than 1mb - see if the file sizes are all identical or if they vary a little bit. It’s possible they didn’t transfer the game files to the card properly?
I’ve tried Anbernic rg351p, Powkiddy rgb10 max 2 and Rgb20s but ended up with an oled ps vita… so much possibility for me including ps3 and ps4 remote play and pc streaming with moonlight, for cheaper than the whole other options I’ve tried
I bought the game for my grandson for Christmas 3 days later he put the game in his backpack for 2 hours and the game got so hot it wiped out all the games and memorie please do not buy this game just a waste of my money

Before your channel I never knew how big the retro gaming market is.

Why not get something like Ayn Odin or loki or any other handheld. Moding a vita is good but it's very underpowered.
Vita is nice because it’s the only thing that can play.. well.. Vita games! It’s a fun one to have in the collection!
Thanks for watching! 😊

Wow. Thanks for watching! 😊 are you using the JELOS custom firmware? Are you loading the ROMs on yourself?

Great review and comparision. I feel out and fascinated by the handheld gaming market
The number of handhelds and their uniqueness is so fun. That’s how I got started collecting and why I started this channel!
Thanks for watching!
definitely made me wanna get this lol

Vita is a great device with a ton going for it! The OLED on it still is fantastic! Enjoy!
Does this come with games already own it
I do believe mine came with a microSD card preloaded with games. The quality of the games was probably pretty hit or miss though
What basket ball is that?
Can it play ps2 & gamecube
No, it cannot
