I bought the cheapest Audi RS6 i could find then rebuilt it in 24hours but now the time is ticking to get the RS6 ready for SEMA in Vegas. I have about 1 week to fit a full DTM widebody kit to it and make the car 1 of a kind. But theres still so many problems we need to overcome when building the Audi!

Hi Matt love your videos so much they have helpede the last year I lost my leg a few years ago. If ever you've got an automatic car udont want I'd gladly have it ! Lol . My heart sank seeing the coolant rain under the carriage at the end😢 . Mat you never disappoint us my friend, I have complete faith in you and the crew to make it to Sema with this lane hog.
Beat me to it. That waterfall of coolant at the end...hoping it was a loose hose and not a cracked rad (not that he can't replace the rad but a bad clamped hose is cheaper/easier).
@@Oz1976 its probably a hose since the car was sitting for so long they are probably all dried out... same story with a friend of mine and his impreza...

Just finally saw an RS6 in person down in Austin about a week ago, I was like a 10 year old seeing a super car for the first time. I couldn't walk away from it, just amazing looking. Your car took it to a whole new level, so jealous. Amazing work, truly amazing. Those wheels were beyond perfect for it, disgusting, perfect fitment, perfect color, perfect design. Nice work!!

Hey mate, invest in a roll of 3m spark deflective paper. Chuck it over the car when grinding to protect it. Especially the glass as the sparks easily burn into the windows.
The wheels have well and truly made that car, the look is immense. Can’t wait to see the footage at Sema under all the spotlights

Personally I think they are the best Audi related wheels I have ever seen. The outer radius calls back to rally and the inner spoke is a more modern design. This is the first wheel for me that I have seen that features an inner ring and into a spoke design on the hub.

Still not sold on the dinner plate holder but those wheels are stunning! I think future builds whether you keep them or raffle them on should have an MA touch to them
Yeah, those wheels are great. That kit is definitely not for me lol
For painting the brake calipers, what I usually do, is sandblast it and then paint the color I want, OR paint it a neutral color like black or white and then the color I want. It gets me the best results.

quick question, wont you need some kind of archliner extension upder those front arches? Otherwise you'll get all sorts of mud / road water etc flying back up off the tyres in to the cavity (where the old body work was)
Fitting those wheels was satisfying to watch. Pure clean fitment right there. That car looks so clean.

One of the reasons for welding the rear arches is to maintain structural rigidity Mat, it's why cars have an inner arch fixed to the outer when manufactured. Hope you do it once Sema is over.

Love the car, and love the kit can't help but feel the car's performance will be affected if any of the aero isn't perfectly lined up or if you have misalignments between left and right.

well they filtered and enhanced the real "red" colors, that explains the difference
Cover up any parts when using cut off wheel on grinder - ie for glass, those thiny sparks are burning metal and can melt into top layer of glass and after rain there will be nice rust spots. I've done it and regretted afterwards. This build all together is amazing!
Mat, the build looks so good. Its starting to make my dream for an RS6 come back. I always loved the Betsafe RS6 but yours puts another layer on top. Absolutely gorgeous car brother

This guy did so much work to the car in just one video! Others would make this a 200 video series doing nothing but talk, while he just keeps smashing! No wonder you grew up that much!
If you take a little dishwash liquid delutted in water spray that where you want to apply the smaller vinal strips put your vinal strip where you want to stick it the soap will allow it to slide around until where you want it then all you have to do is rub the soap out from underneath and bam perfect stick every time

American here, love the kit. I wasn't crazy about it at first but it grew on me and it's insane.
Some of the early thoughts behind this build where questionable. But OMG the finish product is freaking sick. MA wheels...sick.. love the thought and passion you put into all you're builds and video's. Peace and love Mat keep it up!

with those tight tolerances you gotta make sure it also doesnt rub when drifting/hard cornering where the tire deforms a little bit.

hey mat i have seen that you do suffer with alot of oil leaks after you have finished the project, what you should do is cool down the car after a ride by keeping it on for 5 mins after the ride

Having made this mistake before, primer doesn't prevent corrosion. It's porous, and lets the moisture through. Needs some topcoat.

You need to spray a colour over the primer, primer is porous and moisture will eventually get through.

I have always wondered, there is barely any clearance. What happens when you hit a bump or a pothole, won't the tire hit the top? Or is the suspension so hard that it don't go up or down?
I still remember seeing the whole TT rebuild, and dreaming of ever owning one, I got myself a mazda 6 now, did a bit of work on it and I'm so glad. But the TT is still on my mind tho, one day!

The rear outer arches are usually reattached (welded) back to the inners to preserve the structural integrity of the monocoque. Please weld it. The wheels are nice, but still too big.
