This game was my first memorable encounter with the English language. I was perhaps 4-5 years old and already i had an understanding of what words like "Affirmative", "Building" and "Unit ready" meant.
That's how I learnt English... you pick up phrases you know what they mean, how they sound, but you have no idea how to translate them. Beauty of learning languages..
I was even younger. Watching my older brother play. Only now at the age of 22 when red alert popped up in my mind I realize what these familiar voices actually say XD
Exactly, this game probably was one of the main things that helped me learn English, it was the first time I read it and tried to understand meanings behind words. It gives me so much nostalgic vibes
Haha, I think it was some kind of balancing thing with the units, how rockets and shells are best for vehicles, but bullets and grenades are best for infantry. Having said that, it's funny how 20 rifleman could essentially blow up a tank in this if they wanted to, haha.
Agreed - I was happy when they that gave you the option of just destroying buildings to win in later games, instead of spending 10 minutes hunting for the last ore miner hiding in the corner...
Red Alert, Warcraft 2, Starcraft and C&C Generals are awesome games. For some stupid reason, I never finished the campaigns. I think I'll try again. Thanks for the vid, it's given me inspiration.
:x Eva was the assistant you heard in-game for the CnC Tiberium universe only, Eva did play the role as a human character in RA2 and RA3 (albiet by different actors in both cases), lastly according to the generals wiki LT Eva was the "human" character that gave you the pre-mission briefings in CnC generals, but there's no actual on-screen Actor associated with this person. (Source: cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Eva)
im 37 atm....back in the days,,,when i was really young...i mean elementary....jesus criest...we were going with my friend at an internet cafe and we were playing lan 2vs2. i remember back then the feeling like ...i cant describe it whatever.but definetely the graphics i see now in this footage back then it was like just fine and now .... goodtimes
I'm sitting here with a computer able to play all the newest titles, yet I come back here to watch this video and mesmerize how immersed I was in this series. Wish we had a game like this today. So weird to see no RTS titles since 2010(Starcraft II on PC)
Generals and Generals Zero Hour are probably my favorite, with RA and RA2 a very close second. RA was the first game I played a lot as a kid, man I loved these games, still do
I played this game as a kid around the early 2000s. Pretty addicting for a 1996 game. I had no other choice of video games because I was in Vietnam to visit my grandparents.
I found it! I’ve spent forever looking for this game again. I’m 27 and when this came out I must have been like 5 or something. Didn’t know what I was doing at the time but I remember playing it as well as the music
Guess your opponent didn't realize building multiple versions of a factory speeds up that factory's construction process exponentially... Once I found out he was near water I would've cruiser'd AND tanked his ass personally.....Cruisers are NUTS on structures.
I was listening to the C&C soundtrack while working, but something just wasn't right and I wasn't feeling it. After thinking about it, I realized what I needed: CANNOT DEPLOY HERE. BUILDING. UNIT READY. ACKNOWLEDGED. There we go, now THAT'S music to assault unfinished work to!
I used to play this game in primary school like 8 plus hours straight. Clocked 1 and 2. Very late, but I'm finally going to play 3 as well. Hope it's as good as the first 2.
Im so excited about the remastered version. At first I thought that EA was gonna fk it up but it looks good, and some of the westwood guys are in the project so it might acctually turn out awesome. I luv me som red alert!
This is obviously the Playstation version given the zoom and grab of units. We played this in the old neighborhood with the link cable, just amazing. Playing against another person, half of the kids were on one side of the room and half on the other lol. Some spying went on
This is actually the PC version of the game. Some of my later videos are a bit more zoomed out because of mods done to the game (for the original PC version, what you see here is what we had) For comparison, this is the PS1 version of Red Alert: ruclips.net/video/32BIZ3D-Kt0/видео.html
Can this game play on Windows10 ? I remember some years ago when i tried to run it on Windows7 and i couldn't :( Please for the sake of my childhood memories, respond :D
lol, yes. the higher res videos in this playlist (bit.ly/2g0I3gS) are from windows 10, the lower res ones (this one included) are from windows 7 if you increase the resolution, and have the hi-res patch enabled, you get more slots on the sidebar and the game zooms out a bit (like so: bit.ly/2h3EMhv) the version I have isn't a "simply install and play" solution, as it does take some tweaking, but it does work...And it supports online play as well ;) just go to cncnet.org -> hover over downloads and go to town lol
you can play openra instead it's the free open source cross-platform version of RA CC and Dune2k. If you still have the CD you can also add all the copyrighted videos. www.openra.net/ I recommend this a lot more than the old game cause those mechanics I saw here were painful to watch (low resolution, no queue, no rally-point, no nothing).
+sinekonata some of us kinda prefer the old mechanics :| I would switch tbh, but the speed is what always gets me, every video I watch of openRA is very very slow compared to even the vanilla version of the game The only mechanic I've purposely changed in recent times, is the zoom :p (as shown in my later videos lol)
If other methods aren't working I would try CnC net, as they give you Dune 2000, Command and Conquer, and Commandand Conquer: Red Alert for free, and provide multiplayer.
Oh God this is so long ago: I got my dad's old working PC and I was able to play this game but I can't read at this time ans I always built engiens and let them fight because they are so expensive and I thought they were good at fighting. Somewhen I can't carge the Pc any more and so I can't play it any more. Sorry for writing mistakes i I speak German
If you controll your Ore Harvester in the beginning you could easy pump out 2 war factorys and not worry about the second ore refinery, Also do you use Q?
they should have a way to download this game for free online. The game was free when purchasing a PS1 package in the 90's, and it was way ahead of its time for strategy war games.
This game was my first memorable encounter with the English language. I was perhaps 4-5 years old and already i had an understanding of what words like "Affirmative", "Building" and "Unit ready" meant.
I've never learnt another language, but you've picked it up brilliantly!
That's how I learnt English... you pick up phrases you know what they mean, how they sound, but you have no idea how to translate them. Beauty of learning languages..
Exactly! I know how those words sound and what they vaguely mean, but I was not able to recognize them until only recent years
I was even younger.
This game is absolutely timeless, even with the visuals being what they are, there’s a level of fun to be had that never seems to fade.
They are remastering the visuals to 4k! It's on Steam now.
true this
Command & conquer was truly a great game, timeless, great for that time and especially the sound is extremely good also in tiberian sun.
This makes me miss my dead grandparents. Every summer I'd go down to the farm to visit them. Because I loved them, and also because I loved this game.
Red alert: the game where it takes multiple tank shots from point blank range to kill an infantry unit.
+Carlos TheBeast ahhh.. good old 90's logic rite thar!
Haha, I think it was some kind of balancing thing with the units, how rockets and shells are best for vehicles, but bullets and grenades are best for infantry. Having said that, it's funny how 20 rifleman could essentially blow up a tank in this if they wanted to, haha.
@@ShadowSpeedy7 except if the tanks hit them
@@Andres33AU Yep, classic RTS "Rock-Paper-Scissors" balance! Without it, the gameplay would fall apart in a heartbeat.
Ikr.
my favorite part is when you went to turn on the music, I was like OH YES
HELL MARCH :d
Me too
My fav part
hell yeah!
Reminds me a LOT of the early Orbital albums. "Green" Album and "Brown" Album
As soon the music came on you knew shit is about to go down haha
Moving my mouse to select the units whilst watching, lol
cncnet.org has the old CNC games available for download ;)
Unable to comply building in progress
I've done the same thing with other videos, it's just a reflex but too funny.
I've caught myself trying to look around many maps on many videos, lmao.
Console game not computer or pc didnt have ine at the time but cool game
This just opened a major memory in my memory vault.
A classic, one of the best RTS ever made.
Watching the “build order” brings back memories. What a great game!
this the best red alert game ever
DopestDope ew what no
red alert 2 is better
play red alert 3.. much better
I think this is the best because I just have so much memories with it and the music for it was awesome
lol u kidding? all know that ra2 is the best and ra3 was also good
it was pain to find the last remaining unit or structure in order to win the battle. especially on winter maps
Agreed - I was happy when they that gave you the option of just destroying buildings to win in later games, instead of spending 10 minutes hunting for the last ore miner hiding in the corner...
Or submarine lol
Red Alert, Warcraft 2, Starcraft and C&C Generals are awesome games. For some stupid reason, I never finished the campaigns. I think I'll try again. Thanks for the vid, it's given me inspiration.
This was the shit My child hood
+PowermanGustav this is one oldesn and best game what i know
much before this there was dune 2
i know it XD
I still play it all the time..😂
i never played dune 2,
it looks awful, 1992.
the music start at 3:28
I just realized RA game narrator sounds just like Iron Man's JARVIS
+Matrix Bearer eve not narrator
+haters of everything I think EVA was more of a CNC tiberium thing, rather than a red alert thing.
Actually the name of your assistant in Red Alert two and generals was named Eva, she was supposed to be a human character though.
:x Eva was the assistant you heard in-game for the CnC Tiberium universe only, Eva did play the role as a human character in RA2 and RA3 (albiet by different actors in both cases), lastly according to the generals wiki LT Eva was the "human" character that gave you the pre-mission briefings in CnC generals, but there's no actual on-screen Actor associated with this person. aaaaah childhood memories so nostalgic
Love how the infantry units respond with "Agreed" when receiving an order to move lol. As if your commander is seeking your agreement.
im 37 atm....back in the days,,,when i was really young...i mean elementary....jesus criest...we were going with my friend at an internet cafe and we were playing lan 2vs2. i remember back then the feeling like ...i cant describe it whatever.but definetely the graphics i see now in this footage back then it was like just fine and now .... goodtimes
That ankle twist sound when you run over with tanks
I've been playing this same version since 1996. The fact that there is a Windows 10 version allows the fun to continue .
+1 for turning the music on! Nice video.
Tks for bring back memory. I played this game 20yrs ago

This and Red Alert 2, legendary games...
Generals and Generals Zero Hour are probably my favorite, with RA and RA2 a very close second. RA was the first game I played a lot as a kid, man I loved these games, still do
This soundtrack is awesome!
One of the best aspects of this game was the MUSIC!!! Pump that jam.
Feels like yesterday when I used to play this game but in reality it even probably 20 plus years ago. Nostalgic. Time files .
and now you can go pick up the remastered version of this on Steam lol
Same and still play!!
When he turned ON the music I was like "Now we talking!"
Come on no music? This soundtrack is legend. 15 seconds you turned on the music, wow. That was creepy.
3:28 ?
Yeah I meant 15 seconds after I made the initial comment. Too funny
Red Alert was the first PC game I ever played. Me and friend used to sit and play this all the time. IT was so fun.
Uno de los mejores juegos de mi infancia :'3
remember playing red alert 10 years ago, fucking good times
I remember playing it 21 years ago
10 years ago ? LOL man you young
Man I grew up playing this game and Doom 2, and I still play both to this day
Ah, the old times...
ahhh yes old times, when games were shit thank fuck i wasnt born in the 90's
This music is bumping I started raving when you turned it up
I played this game as a kid around the early 2000s. Pretty addicting for a 1996 game. I had no other choice of video games because I was in Vietnam to visit my grandparents.
I've been searching for this game for a long ass time now and finally found it. Played this game when I was about 5. Back in 2009
I forgot the soundtrack to this game was such a '90s tEcHnO WoNdErLaNd 🎶
1 minute in I can already remember from memory which map this is and what it looks like. Wow, this game....
Why cant they have this on steam!!!?!?! AHHHHH
Because... it's free :X
+Fred “Bananatreelobster” Potter you can get on ocean of games but make sure you have winrar!
Fred Potter they only have that abomination to mankind known as tiberium twilight.
this game always best for me i never forget this game
you can play all of C&C games on origin for 6 dollars a month
I found it! I’ve spent forever looking for this game again. I’m 27 and when this came out I must have been like 5 or something. Didn’t know what I was doing at the time but I remember playing it as well as the music

Once I found out he was near water I would've cruiser'd AND tanked his ass personally.....Cruisers are NUTS on structures.
Still better music and game play than many modern RTSs
Best Strategy/war gameplay EVER!
So epic. Some of the best music in video game history.
When I told my mom that in this new game you can run over people with tanks.... it was so immersive and realistic.

One my fave games all time-especially after the c.s. and aftermath dlc's.
In my opinion the two greatest games of all time are *Age of Empires (1997)* and *Command & Conquer: Red Alert (1996)*
que belleza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! un vicio de niño
Use to play this game over modem with one of my best friends and pull an all nighter.
Coming from China, this game was my entire childhood though I didn't understand a single word in it lol
great times watching my dad playing this game
Lol, my brother gave me the magnificent job of "watching the radar for sneak attacks from {X Color}" while he played back in the day...
in case nobody knows.. this game has been remade it is called OPENRA download it u will not be dissapointed
I personally prefer the cncnet.org version.. more true to the original imo ;)
I like how Westwood made maps to resemble real places, like how this one resembles North America.
Im still playing this on my ps1 😎
Still play this on my PS3 they have this and the old School Comaander and Conquer on playstation store
в юности играл в этот шедевр
I used to drive my cousin crazy by asking if I could play this on his computer all day every day lmao
My golden memory......
