Wow- the algorithm just brought you to me three times in a row: Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, and Pink Floyd alum David Gilmour. So it's working fine as those are 3 of my top 5 groups (Supertramp and Jethro Tull the other 2). Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.

You won't find more emotion in a guitar sequence than this.

David Gilmour is on my guitar Mt Rushmore with Jimi, SRV, and Eddie Van Halen. This song was the first track of one of their best albums in my opinion Wish You Were Here. This album was a tribute to the original lead singer of Pink Floyd Syd Barrett. If you listen to all of Wish You Were Here you’ll take a journey and won’t put it down.

If you never heard pink floyd you are in for the greatest musical journey you will ever take... there's no one like pink floyd...start with the songs "hey you", "comfortably numb", "high hopes " from pulse concert 1994

The genre is "Pink Floyd" or sometimes called Progressive Rock or Psychodelic Rock

    Pink Floyd 1994 Pulse Concert,....

  • @jonhenke1504
    @jonhenke1504 7 месяцев назад +3

You simply need to do something from their 1994 Pulse concert. That's The Division Bell tour and it's Pink Floyd David Gilmour and two other members of Pink Floyd

The “genre” is Pink Floyd. It exists outside of any categories we can comprehend.

Country?? Not hearing it bro. This is classic Pink Floyd performed by it's lead vocalist and legendary guitarist David Gilmour during his solo tour of 2016.

I think your assessment is fair. I say this as David is my favorite musician of all time. This song first of all is a grower, maybe not the best introduction into Pink Floyd’s music. I am a bit surprised by your lack of appreciation for that blues guitar work. And country or rock? Wondering if he was gonna rap? I think you need to listen a little more to “get it” because it is different. Pink Floyd is its own genre, put simply.

Genre is called progressive rock, prog rock for short.

This is not the best intro to PF for first timers. Do the 94 Pulse concert remastered versions. Try SORROW, MONEY, COMFORTABLY NUMB and their cool show stopping closer RUN LIKE HELL. MONEY has a sax as well.

I dont understand why you would choose a solo version by a 70 yo when the 1994 band version / concert by 50 year olds is now hailed as the greatest rock show ever......many say the best and greatest rock concert and tour ever.
This was okay for a big David fan, but NOT really Pink Floyd and definitely NOT Pink Floyd quality.
    Band- about 85% of Pulse
    David guitar - about 80 %
    Vocals - 70%
    Visuals - Less than 40%
If the Pulse version is a Veyron built by Rolls Royce, then this is a Hyundai Getz.

Meeeh. Live performances are a terrible idea for a first time listen. They tend to deviate too much from the original song and thus not give you the proper idea. People who suggest them are mostly die-hard fans, who don't really take things into consideration. Studio is ALWAYS the way to go for first time listen. Later you can also do live if you really like a particular song. Trust me on this 🙂
