ok so I'll answer the brain dead stupid criticisms I got from people who didn't pay attention to the video, this is game is really not that hard, if you can't beat it, it's a YOU problem. I literally stated in the video that EV training got buffed to the point where it's so easy to do where even a monkey can do it, it takes minutes to fully max out one pokemon's EV values, it even says so in the changelog, if you're not willing to spend a few minutes training then that's your fault, especially as farming xp is so ridiculously easy.

Cosem Pokémon fans can make assumptions but it’s always right, they don’t care about the series, because they know that the Nintendo and Pokémon fanbase is full of stupid consumers who will eat up anything without a second thought, Gen 8 is on a damn home console, yet they cut mons for “high quality animations and graphics” which still really suck as of Crown Tundra’s latest release.

I don't know if you have already played this one, but you should definitely take a look at this Rom Hack called "Rocket Edition". It is a FireRed hack that retells the story of Red,Blue and Kanto from the POV of a Team Rocket grunt. You start off as a Team Rocket grunt with only a Rattatta and have to rise up the ranks. You can also steal pokemon in this game .It explores everypart of the Kanto story and has explanations for many of the questions that fans have after playing the game like, why was the card of silph co with a lowly grunt and even how a 12 year old like red can be so powerful.
This is the best RomHack I have played in terms of Story. Its plot blows even clover out of the water. I would love to see you do a playthrough of it.

    • @inheritedwheel2900
      @inheritedwheel2900 4 года назад +13

you're probably around the same level as me, i was able to beat r-platinum without too much problem and i got stuck in radical after the 4th gym on the rival fight, level cap 56. the game was really fun and manageable up until that point though. honestly, my mons were just completely outclassed and I felt like there was no point in playing unless I wanted to grind up a new team. i didn't have any problems with any boss fights up until this one so it felt like a brutal difficulty spike.
i wish they would have an option to push the level cap by 5 or 10 for an "wimp mode" on certain fights so I could keep my og team. that way I could personalize the difficulty, but I understand them keeping it as is to encourage building new teams for hard fights.

    • @tacg1773
      @tacg1773 4 года назад

The most I do is go two evels over some fight sor if it's really mandatory hire
And if EV training is mandatory id just do a small bit of cheating to get them where the game expects them to be

I typically only use pokemon i thought looked cool and are pretty good, however im coming to the conclusion i need to change teams every 5 minutes because theres always a bigger fish. The games level changes drastically which only pains me when im having to make new strats. Currently im using a raichu, luxio, pancham, simisage, wartortle and butterfree. Ive gotten attached now i gotta throw the lot away cause the new stronger teams are coming in and i need to be prepared. The overall chaos yet order of the hack is beautiful, the difficulty is decently hard for me(i have only played 2 pokemon games and i know what evs are just not good at doing ev training which isnt even that much of an issue since im reaching the metropolis city soon. I was thinking "oh i should play regular firered to get prepared" i got bored so quick and loaded this thing up and was amazed its like every reigon merged together and i love it! I love how dynamax is limited because thats actually really fair... for you. The game wont allow the "oh ill just play for 30 minutes maybe beat a few gyms". For example when i first started out on radical red and got up to the falkner battle i was not expecting for my team to get owned because im just used to breezing through the game my entire team was so weak to his. It took(im not kidding) 2 hours for me to figure out how to actually progress with the pokemon i usually breeze pass and sweep with my starter and i even attempted ev training and even now im pretty sure it was dumb luck. However now i believe i can beat him with my eyes closed the progress is awesome and im really excited for more of the game. If i were to have on complaint tho its that the difficulty makes it hard for you to build teams you consider fun and makes it so you bond less with your pokemon so the teams dont really feel like yours and the start is abit bumpy; then again you can keep the best players and chain evs, ivs(pretty sure) and natures so they can stick around. Tho it has kicked into gear because this master piece is taking me places. Another thing i love is that the game doesnt go to professional about it, may seem weird but the jokes are actually funny and dont feel like something that is just there to fill up boxes. Leveling is pretty fun actually because the wild pokemon arent mindless anymore they will apply some form of strategy no matter how big or small its just amazing. Theres just too much to talk about AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Ok. There's something that irked me the wrong way when watching the video, I just need to get this off my chest. And before anyone judges, I just want to say that this was a decent video, that covers the basis of all the games in a neat package. Now for my problems:
    1. Pokemon was never ALL about the battles. It was about your own enjoyment your own way. I disdain Game freak's, 'press A' to win mentality. I want to make a composition of team my own way, all I ask is a bit of a challenge when making those teams. I want to make a fav. team, while giving me a hard battle to overcome.
    2. What I like about Pokemon is that is a Single-player experience, or more accurately, the single-player mentality. What I would like is maybe to have a middle-ground of the single-player and Multi-player mentality. It goes back to the first problem. The thing about Smogon, is that it prioritizes a lot of powerful mons than the rest. Let's say I want to use Butterfree, Magnezone, Dugtrio, Breloom, Lapras, and Alakazam on Blaine's gym. Three of my Pokemon are weak to that team, and only two are neutral, with one resist. Why would I pick any other team composition, than the ones in OU? - Ex. Char. Y, Rhyhorn (Hazard sweeper), Breloom (Spore Scarf), etc. Smogon prioritizes powerful mons, a tweak to the rules might be needed, to grab more attention.
    3. If this was, THE SMOGON Pokemon game, then does that only appeal to the people who play competitive? I'm not gonna say "Pokemon Demographics is for kids, so it should stay kid friendly" because that is an utter garbage reason, kids can find their own way to break through challenges, don't underestimate them. No. What I'm trying to say is that most people don't have time to get to grips with the intricate things of Competitive Pokemon. I myself, am a very competitive pokemon player, looking at ranks, top picks, good team comp. etc., but I'm just a very few, in the sea of many pokemon fans. Not every pokemon player finds competitive, entertaining or appealing, and that's fine, Pokemon can be enjoyed Alone or with friends. It was always designed that way.
    4. And finally. I find your wording and tone on some parts of the video and pinned comment, very arrogant. Like the "Go play Gen 2, where you can overlevel" stance you take is just disrespectful to people who had fond memories of that game. Yes, We get it, our childhood was not that hard than we thought, but you don't have to foul mouth us over it. Just because you had different experiences and finished the game yourself, In a way you find doable, doesn't mean it applies to everyone else. Some people just want a quick game or go down memory lane with a challenge, not everybody is like me or you, that wants High tier A.I. N.P.C. trainers to fight with. "It's not hard," maybe to you, who had a glimpse of the competitive scene, but don't apply that knowledge or experience to everybody else.
So In conclusion, I like the video - but I am just asking as a viewer, to please not be so arrogant in the way you present yourself. Modesty, is what people would like about you, would like from you, especially the viewers. I respect your brutal honesty, but I advise that you tone it down a bit. It's only pokemon and we shouldn't drown arrogance into this. Thank you.

Hi, I just checked the vid as well, never played the game so I don't know if there is an easy mode, which I highly doubt to be honest, but a good alternative I'm playing right now is called Pokemon Reborn. It may be very well known but I'm not too deep into fan made pokemon games so I wouldn't know. It's very hard compared to the laughable difficulty of the nintendo versions but nowhere near what I'm seeing in Radical Red here. It has a brand new map, all pokemon, mature dialogues and good music and I'm pretty sure there are online battles and trades going on. There is also an increased shiny chance, I reset the game not too many times to start things off great with a shiny Charmander! Oh and by the way, it's a game designed for pc so you don't even need an emulator to play it, you just download the .exe file.

Im currently playing through RR. Im at Sabrina. The second Giovanni was a fucking nightmare. Honestly, I don't rate this higher than Renegade Platinum. RP offers a lot more freedom to play as you choose, RR only offers a forced insanely hard mode, from forced set mode, forced level caps and excruciating enemy team comps. RP gives you the option to play with your own rules and set your own challenge. Its a real shame, too. RR's systems are phenomenal. The Dex Nav is amazing, the 5 guys in saffron are so useful, too. I wish there was a way to make it more accessible to casuals like me who enjoy min-maxing EVs and IVs, but dislike how easy the games become as a result.
This is clearly an individual thing, but I play hacks as a replacement to the main series. Drayanos Renegade Platinum is a phenomenal example of one. It takes platinum, gives you even more variety by adding all pokemon, buffing pokemon that needed buffed and adding content and QoL changes from future generations into the mix to make a definitive experience. They also make the games more challenging - not Kaizo levels, but challenging enough that your pokemon choices and movesets matter.
My main problem with RR is really just its lack of restraint in terms of difficulty and the lack of accessibility options to allow less experienced players to be able to complete the game. There are so many fantastic additions that really make this hack feel like a definitive edition of FRLG, but I think Omega still holds that slot. This game is definitely more of a Kaizo hack than an enhancement hack.

From what I learned the game always predicts your next move. I've tried to find different exploits for the game (I'm not a competitive battler) and found that even loading save states in battle and changing your move, or switching out your pokemon, the AI almost always had what you did predicted and would either use a specific attack, or switch pokemon themselves accordingly. There were a few lucky moments to where they did something wrong.. But 9 times out of 10 they always did a specific thing based on what I did.

i think you may be talking about a different game, because what you’re talking about is what games like Emerald Kaizo did. and that was the eventual downfall of the game, the opponent in Radical Red do not choose a move AFTER you like what the Kaizo creator did, thats what made people stray from those games because it was just unfair at times. i believe the opponent makes moves based on what pokemon you currently have out. it starts with set up moves, then either goes for super effective moves against your pokemon or swap out so that it can. from experience i CAN say that they can sometimes predict, but i dont believe they make a move after the player does

There's a level cap so that enables you to mix up your team quite a lot if you're stuck. The wild mons have really helpful items like weakness policy etc, mostly you end up cheesing your way to the V but it's honestly a proper and engaging challenge

Just finished it now, without using mega evolutions.
My IV's were also horrible, EV's mostly too, this made it a true challenge.
Went with the same team from the start until the end.
God, some boss fights were insanely hard.
But finishing it was so satisfying, I feel like I just finished a triathlon, so released and happy, lol
    My team:
    Tornadus - Wise glasses
Thundurus - Focus sash (which I often changed and gave whoever needed it most for a boss fight)
    Snorlax -Leftovers
    Tyranitar -Softsand
    Grimmsnarl -Rocky helmet
    Celebi -Leftovers
-Celebi was the MVP with agent power boosts, it saved me several times.
And after 1 or 2 lucky boosts, it already outsped most boss pokemon and was just not killable with giga drain, recover and leftovers. It could even pp stall pokemon well, which I did a few times. I used it also f.e. against Close combat users. They get debuffed and I just recover.
-Snorlax was tanky, has so much hp and hit like a truck with Giga Impact (one shot most boss pokemon, even mega ev.) Also HiHorsepower and Wood hammer makes it perfect against ice and fire types, combined with it's ability "Thick Fat" , it is SO FRIKKING USEFUL in this rom hack, you can't imagine.
Combined with its already great spec. def, you tank some of the most powerful fire and ice pokemon with ease. That's why I gave up on amnesia for more type coverage. And you got leftovers for recovery.
It even has a mega stone! Makes it one of the best pokemons.
Got it as a munchlax at the beginning. After many fights and some grooming it evolved.
Tyranitars sandstorm was a nice counter against focus sash users and other weather effects
Also it is tanky and hits hard with Stone Edge and Earthquake
    Grimmsnarl:
Was decent, learns also useful fairy moves, even though it was slow and often got one shot, it helped me out a lot against some gyms.
Tornadus was fast, outsped most pokemons, so it kept Air Slash, to flinch too dangerous pokemon which would one shot any of mine.
Also dark pulse for type coverage and flinching.
Hurricane is a great move, it often confuses. Combined that.
Confuse and flinch shenanigans work well in this rom.
Thundurus was also fast, could set it up with nasty plot and just like Tornadus, it had a move with which it could attack both pokemon in double battles.

You know, I've been looking for something new that could be abit more challenging and bring in new mechanics, so this sounds like a great rom hack. I'd love something like this that could have multiple (or even all) regions too. All built into the GBA Engine (which is my favourite in the series).

Technically the person who made this can't be given full credit for everything here. They used a rom base called "Complete Fire Red Upgrade" by Skeli789, which is likely to become the standard for most serious FR hacks going forwards. Don't be too surprised if you see these same features elsewhere, but implemented even better than before!

I just finished the game and I gotta say it’s one of the best rom hacks I’ve come across. It was very challenging and was nothing like the conventional games (which are usually cakewalk). Also it was very interesting with hundreds of Pokemon to catch and train. It has taken into consideration many of the flaws in the mainstream games and has improved the gameplay drastically. The battles were delightful and the elite four and champion were amazing. Dynamax was fun too.
My team at the end of the run consisted of:
    Alakazam
    Malamar
    Inteleon
    Tyranitar
    Venusaur
    Jolteon.
I tried winning by not carrying any legendaries in my team and it’s possible.

Your video is mostly convincing except for one thing. It's quite unfair comparing the dex in this game with Renegade and Clover
Hacking new Pokémon is much harder on a ds rom, and the Pokémon in clover were fakemons. Brand new Pokémon with custom sprites, typing, ability and moves.

Oh well, I know what my first priority will be when I get a new one. Also, I noticed that a lot of the added Mega Evolutions were given to Pokémon with Gigantamax forms in Sw/Sh. Perhaps to make up for a lack of Dynamax outside of Raid Battles?

One thing that truly blows my mind is how they manage to include every pokemon in a romhack. for the longest time, pokemon romhacks have suffer from working with the limitations that the OG game has (e.g. RBGY with 151, GSC with 251, RSE with 386, etc.) which makes some romhacks that "include current gen mons" mislead players that it only handpicked the more popular mons/creators' favorites. This by no mean showing spite or remorse, it's that a romhack that completely breaks the barrier that restrict the entire romhack community for *decades* is something I only expect from SMW/SM64 romhacks on terms of what we can expect out of a standard game.
I see a bright future for the pokemon hack community with both the Dynamic Pokemon Expansion kit and Complete FireRed Upgrade. in fact, this could even make pokemon essentials look obsolete in the future!
