    That was incredibly helpful and about time someone did a tech deep dive on this. The 2023 Honda Hornet is on my short-list of two but I am still edging towards the 2023 Honda CL500. Thank you for this.

      I tried both. I ride '16 SV650a. The hornet is miles ahead of the CL500. The dash, TCS, ABS, front big shock fork, rider modes, Bluetooth, self cancelling indicators, anti wheelie etc etc. Plus the power and sound of the 270 crank twin is like crack cocaine to me. I really wanted to like the CL500 but it steers so sluggish. Power is OK'ish (A2) but I mean it is too heavy for off road and a bit underpowered for all other uses. Then when you factor in the marginal price difference between Hornet and the CL it is not even a relative choice. The hornet is too cheap and the CL too expensive. If you wanted to go 500 cc A2 I'd go for the CB500X. Dual discs, very low fuel consumption with a big petrol tank and good rider positioning. My only gripe with the Hornet in stock form is the seat but that is a 120 euro option. I'm very close to ordering a Hornet but I'm in doubt about the colour. Goldfinch yellow or the pearl white with red frame. Oh and the Showa fork is a dream. If the CL was a knife then the Hornet would be a scalpel. I'm in love with it.

    Thanks great vid. Suppose handy to not mess with phone to get home/route. Shame about the nav arrow or maybe a distance to turn counter. But you can't have everything. Or just have Google maps telling you directions in n your ear.

    Thanks for taking the time to do this video, I am looking at a used hornet tomorrow. Can you be listening to music and have the navigation on at the same time? Cheers from New Zealand 😊

    So the nav function is effectively useless without a bluetooth headset?

    • @Geordiebiketester
      @Geordiebiketester  8 месяцев назад +1

      It works you just can’t hear it with out a head set. It’s a turn by turn vocal directional Sat Nav.

    • @Daniel-dj7fh
      @Daniel-dj7fh 8 месяцев назад

      But it just gives out auditory directions right?
      I have not heard anyone mention that it points arrows showing where one should turn next.@@Geordiebiketester

      @@Daniel-dj7fh it’s vocal so yes it’s best to have a headset but if you can hear your phone you will hear the directions.

    So the navigation doesn't show turn by turn instrictuins or the map in the dash?? Only a icon saying you are using the navigation?

    • @Geordiebiketester
      @Geordiebiketester  Год назад +1

      Sadly yes that’s it for now. Hopefully in the future the app will be updated to work more like point to point nav.

      That's a bummer however with Turn-by-Turn instructions & the fact that my phone can be safely tucked away 😊. I trust no Smart Lock whatever...I don't even place it in my outer pockets and or tank bag 😂
