My Evo V looks completely stock on the outside. Ohlins DFV, Evo IX turbo, fuel system upgrades, EvoLink ECU, completely restored factory interior, etc. It's such a great car that I don't think they need to be heavily modified to be fast and/or cool. Excited to see your build!
Only one tiny tip here for anyone !!! when rusty bolts need to be taken out is better to apply WD-40 or something similar like penetrant foam-oil on all bolts and screws but is critical to do this before any attempt of unscrew, it will make the whole process of dismantling way more easy and might also prevent bolts snapping !!!
this build is actually super sane. not ocd levels of clean but still building a car the "right" way on a budget. this is very refreshing as its shaping up to be an insane bang for buck
TeeeJ, the MK5 is my all time fav of all Evo’s, and personally I love to lil’ rake you’ve got with the suspension settings, remember, if you want to daily it…. You’ll be having passengers in the back…. Be mindful of that! And that yellow on white rims! Awwwwwhhh I’m in love!

TJ make sure you take off the shield covering the fuel pipe between the fuel door and the fuel tank. As an ex owner of an EVO 5, the pipe had rusted through. Snow and salt builds up under there in Japan, even on the least rusty Evo's.
Awesome video as always TJ and Sabrina. TJ I know you said that the EVO V is going to be a grip track car now but after y’all build it up right and it dominates the track you should reconsider rally sport racing you should build a rally car after this I think you would dominate the rally track.

I absolutely love the Evo 7-8, this ones nice too for sure! I would have loved to see some 90-00s Volks or Works. Never really seen TJ go with anything hardcore JDM aside from the TE.
Man those are big ol' beefy stock shocks on that, wow, def a good upgrade there for sure lol. That things big enough to make my arm look small, and that's saying something hahahha
The white wheels are a good choice. Get them ceramic coated it will make your life of keeping them clean so much easier. (Ask me how I know, lol). Also, I'd get those braces powdercoated white as well to tie it in.
If you want the car to be a grip car you need to ditch the stock style bushings for spherical bearings. Even if they're brand new the stock style bushings deflect and basically change your alignment throughout the corner as the car loads up. Racefab makes fully adjustable/ spherical arms for everything in the evo suspension (and chassis braces too). Adam went thru it all on his white evo so just call him up for the sauce lol
I hope he does he a race alignment with him in the drivers seat. I haven’t seen them do that yet on the channel but for a grip car it makes such a difference. They have to adjust the coilovers to start with so it sounds like when he says a full alignment maybe they’ll show it being done.
Have you ever been in a Mitsubishi? Interiors absolute crap. Everything feels cheap Also the designs and they drive absolute bad. But that is just my opinion..
+22 will fit thats what i ran. In aus. Built a 2.3 stroker with mivec. Forward facing turbo 3584. Twin pumps with all the fruit. Made 800at all . Was a great car when it ran.
Definitely needs a dry ice clean underneath but it does look good in the yellow its lovely 👌 and I lowkey agree with Sabrina the mud flaps suit the car maybe not red but it need some and so does the high ride hight it need to be higher

I recommend MRM decals for the rega stickers. The ones that come from icb (the typical US importer of regas) will peel off the first couple washes
