That is the first thing I thought when Romney made that statement. Generally speaking, Mitt Romney is not a stupid man, but his advice that Biden should pardon Trump is an incredibly stupid idea.

I was surprised by Mitt romney wanting Biden to pardon Trump for the insurrection.
He has no authority to pardon a State case.
And you can't pardon someone before they are convicted. A pardon comes after conviction of the crime.
So we need to wait a few more weeks for the sentencing, then the State could pardon Trump, but not the POTUS.

There should be a new rule for pardons. You can only be eligible for a pardon if you plead guilty. If you go to court pleading you are innocent and lose...no pardon for you.
