The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7310 is a sub-par printer for small or home offices. It has an awful black page yield, meaning you'll often have to replace the black cartridge if you print lots of long documents and spreadsheets. It also doesn't have any scanning features, so you'll need a dedicated scanner to digitize documents. On the bright side, it can print on large 13" x 19" sheets using its rear feeder, while its two input trays support up to 500 wide-format 11" x 17" sheets, helping minimize paper refills. It prints impressively quickly and gets single-page prints out in a decently short time, and you can connect it to your network to print via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7310's build quality is outstanding. It's a large printer made of a very sturdy-feeling plastic, with feet that help keep the printer body stable. There's easy access to potential paper jams via a removable panel at the rear of the printer, while the maintenance box, which collects extra ink used during printing and maintenance, is easily accessible inside the printer body. The printer lid for accessing the internal components stays open on its own and closes slowly if let go while closing, thanks to a lid dampener. Additionally, the output tray is motorized and automatically slides out when receiving a print job, but since it doesn't slide out the entire way, you need to manually pull it out more for larger print jobs.
The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7310 has an okay cost-per-print overall. The cartridges are relatively inexpensive, but you need to replace them frequently because the printer yields a sub-par number of pages before the cartridges run out of ink. It's a bit better for black-only printing than it is for color printing, so you'll likely be paying lots in upkeep costs if you intend to print large-format color documents.
The Epson WF-7310 is compatible with all commonly-used desktop operating systems. On Windows, you need to install the printer drivers, but you don't need an app to use all the printer's features. On macOS and Chrome OS, you don't need to install any apps or drivers. On macOS, you can use AirPrint, and on Chrome OS, you can just print directly.
