The jet black iPhone 7+ is the one I want also. Can't decide whether to upgrade from my 6 now or wait til the 7S+... Either way, love the jet black and I think when I do I'll get Zagg Invisible Shield full body protection then the fingerprints won't be as big an issue.
When I first saw the Jet Black iPhone I thought it was the best looking piece of kit I'd ever seen. That continuos sheen just screams class to me. I was initially looking to pre-order it right away, but as it sold out so fast I missed it. This probably worked out for the best, because there was no way I could live with even the tiniest scratch within an hour of taking it out the box. So I think it's probably wise to go for regular Black, which to be fair still looks very nice. Personally I'm surprised they ditched space grey - it was very well received when it first arrived on the iPhone 5s so it's surprising to see them return to the more uniform style of the iPhone 5 in Black.

Not an iPhone fan, but the gloss black plus is definitely the one to get. The gloss finish is the best looking iPhone since the 4, it not only hides the antenna bands, but almost blends into the glass. Also as you say, it's much less slippery to hold. I think I'd probably keep it in a minimal case though, one that just covers the back and corners.

I hope they keep the bezels or don't trim them too much. I used an S7 edge and I couldn't stop hitting the screen edges by accident. Bezels are seriously underrated for a productive phone, not a kid's phone.
no, got my replacement yesterday, but there was a mix-up at the T-Mobile store, I was actually their very first exchange and I ended up with the coral blue... which is fine I guess, there are aspects i like about it but the black was sleek... first world problems I know

I have had mine for a month and it is truly the best design ever over glass. I have been an iPhone owner since 4 which is still my favorite only because the glass is less scratch resistant but still have that shine so they are getting close to the 4 design and I know the cost has to be high if they do this with the 8 but the jet black 7 plus is beautiful and fast. I never owned a case on iPhones why cover beauty or don't buy. My trick is I never really clean my jet black and leave as is daily and people still love to hold and use mine. If they go ba k to the glass with stainless and those nice round buttons like 4s in a plus would be the best phone ever built

Scratched out of the box or because you rubbed it in your shirt, it still is ridiculous for a $1000 phone. And I am, or better, was an iPhone fanboy, but unfortunately this year Apple missed every important point.
1. New design: Minor updates from the S to the new iPhone, keeping a 3 year old design. (It's no secret they're waiting for the 10th anniversary for the good stuff) 2. Headphone jack: Totally unnecessary, no real gain for the customer, but good revenues for the Apple-patented lighting port for which manufacturers will have to pay fees in order to produce headphones for. No need to mention the expensive AirPods. The "fight for space" justification is risible, since the 6Plus had a bigger battery than the 7 Plus. Similarly for water-proofing. 3. New home button that doesn't work with gloves. Where's the improvement? 4. iOS 10 still super-closed. It's 2016 and I still can't use a flash drive or access freely my files. But there's a fireworks effect on iMessage I should be excited about. 5. Same screen resolution. Why? I have tons of Apple products, an iPhone 6S an SE a MacBook Air etc. But for the first time I feel that Apple is losing the game. When the first iPhone came out, competition was nonexistent. Now, there are $300 Android phones that do more than an iPhone. My point is that Apple should stop focusing on making billions over the lighting port and return to making amazing products for its customers. Thant's my opinion, many disagree, oh well.

At the end of the day, you have to be satisfied with the products and services you purchase so of course it is entirely justifiable if you choose not to buy this iPhone or any future Apple products. Just to let you know though, the 7 Plus battery, from what I've read, is indeed larger than both 6 and 6S Plus.
the iPhone 7 plus has a 2900mah battery (small for this year of phones and for its size) the iPhone 6s plus has a 2750mah battery... barely a difference between phones. that's apple for you.
My sister has the lg g flex 2. That "self healing" back scratches more than anything I've ever seen. It's so scratched even by using it carefully that it looks like it was rubbed on a road.
Lol xD mine has no scratches, and looks just like new. The self healing can't handle very serious scratches. I've been using a case for a little while now so no worries, maybe your sister would like a pretty case too :)
Ugh. Fugly cases. Well that's the reason yours is not scratched up. A watched a couple of reviews and they all mentioned that the self healing back scratches easily.
Since he/she hasn't replied yet, I own one and yes, it does scratch easily, but the scratches that are caused by day-to-day use isn't too severe and will only show if you shine light onto it

The matte one is very slippery, and the glossy one is very prone to scratches (those who had space grey iphones like me know how it's a scratch magnet) but it looks the best out of all the colors in my opinion.

Well mine didn't come pre-scratched. It looked flawless & absolutely stunning. Day 10 here and it looks fantastic. If you are careful there is nothing to worry about. All Jet Black model owners enjoy!

Jie Lin and they are both optimized for each screen size. There is some 2k content, but 99.9% of you tube videos are some in 1080p. Netflix is 1080p. The only way to utilize the 2k is shoot 4k videos and watch them on your 4k tv. 2k displays are great, but they also eat battery.

It feels great. It's not plastic like the 5c. Yeah it's glossy and scratchy and a fingerprint magnet but it's the least slippery of all 7 Plus models. And that's the most important thing to me because I hate cases and the 6s Plus was so slippery.

It's kind of a novelty thing, it stands out more than the regular iPhone colours as you don't see many glossy metal smartphones.

Just curious, what would the important points be that Apple had to implement?
1. New design: Minor updates from the S to the new iPhone, keeping a 3 year old design. (It's no secret they're waiting for the 10th anniversary for the good stuff)
2. Headphone jack: Totally unnecessary, no real gain for the customer, but good revenues for the Apple-patented lighting port for which manufacturers will have to pay fees in order to produce headphones for. No need to mention the expensive AirPods. The "fight for space" justification is risible, since the 6Plus had a bigger battery than the 7 Plus. Similarly for water-proofing.
3. New home button that doesn't work with gloves. Where's the improvement?
4. iOS 10 still super-closed. It's 2016 and I still can't use a flash drive or access freely my files. But there's a fireworks effect on iMessage I should be excited about.
5. Same screen resolution. Why?
I have tons of Apple products, an iPhone 6S an SE a MacBook Air etc. But for the first time I feel that Apple is losing the game. When the first iPhone came out, competition was nonexistent. Now, there are $300 Android phones that do more than an iPhone. My point is that Apple should stop focusing on making billions over the lighting port and return to making amazing products for its customers.
Thant's my opinion, many disagree, oh well.

At the end of the day, you have to be satisfied with the products and services you purchase so of course it is entirely justifiable if you choose not to buy this iPhone or any future Apple products.
Just to let you know though, the 7 Plus battery, from what I've read, is indeed larger than both 6 and 6S Plus.
the iPhone 7 plus has a 2900mah battery (small for this year of phones and for its size) the iPhone 6s plus has a 2750mah battery... barely a difference between phones. that's apple for you.

My sister has the lg g flex 2. That "self healing" back scratches more than anything I've ever seen. It's so scratched even by using it carefully that it looks like it was rubbed on a road.
Lol xD mine has no scratches, and looks just like new. The self healing can't handle very serious scratches. I've been using a case for a little while now so no worries, maybe your sister would like a pretty case too :)
Ugh. Fugly cases. Well that's the reason yours is not scratched up. A watched a couple of reviews and they all mentioned that the self healing back scratches easily.
It depends. Some cases are really pretty, I like mine. Some are fugly. But of course, it's never the same as having your beautiful caseless phone.

Since he/she hasn't replied yet, I own one and yes, it does scratch easily, but the scratches that are caused by day-to-day use isn't too severe and will only show if you shine light onto it

The matte one is very slippery, and the glossy one is very prone to scratches (those who had space grey iphones like me know how it's a scratch magnet) but it looks the best out of all the colors in my opinion.

That might be true if it was Plastic. The case is 100% aluminum. The process Apple used to create the finish has never been done before.
Yet, it also scratches easily, and comes pre-scratched too due to the brushing process required. So what's the difference? It's still true that it scratches and that it looks horrible one day out of the box.

Well mine didn't come pre-scratched. It looked flawless & absolutely stunning. Day 10 here and it looks fantastic. If you are careful there is nothing to worry about. All Jet Black model owners enjoy!

There is some 2k content, but 99.9% of you tube videos are some in 1080p. Netflix is 1080p.
The only way to utilize the 2k is shoot 4k videos and watch them on your 4k tv.
2k displays are great, but they also eat battery.

It feels great. It's not plastic like the 5c. Yeah it's glossy and scratchy and a fingerprint magnet but it's the least slippery of all 7 Plus models. And that's the most important thing to me because I hate cases and the 6s Plus was so slippery.
