  • Dagan shows us the great sounds within the Epiphone Pro-1 Acoustic guitar - a cheap acoustic guitar that certainly doesn't suck!
Check out the Epiphone Pro-1 over at PMT Online: bit.ly/EpiPro1
Edit: This has an Okoume neck - NOT Rosewood.
The Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar is one of the best beginners guitars available, combining high-quality craftsmanship with superb tonewoods whilst remaining firmly within the budget-friendly bracket.
This entry-level acoustic guitar has been designed for younger players and pro players alike, especially those in need of a 2nd guitar or touring guitar that they can rely on. A huge amount of innovation has gone in to the construction of these guitars with a focus on making them as playable as possible.
The new EZ neck profile has been crafted to minimise hand fatigue and hand cramps - the worst things that can happen when you’re just learning to play! In addition, taller and wider frets have been constructed so playing chords, fretting and practicing scales is easier than ever. A select mahogany body with select spruce top ensures a rich and articulate sound whilst the Custom PRO-Prietary Bracing ensures your guitar rings out bright and loud!
A great guitar for beginners and players of all levels on a budget, that doesn’t scrimp on quality.

Started learning 39 days ago on my daughters Maton. Bought my Epiphone Pro-1 a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It’s great value for the money and I leave it sitting out on a stand, practice on it, and then grab it for a few minutes now and then during the day without the stress I felt using the Maton, which lives in a hard case. If I’m still playing at the end of the year then I might upgrade but for now it’s absolutely perfect.

I just bought one today . Amazing sound ! I was prepared to spend at least 500 dollars to get good sounding guitar . I tried quite a few brands in that 500 d range , and to my ear this had the best overall tone and volume . A Yamaha for 550 came close , but this Epi tipped the scale . Still shocked that I got what I was looking for , for 199 dollars !

i have small hands and i am a beginner. i got the epiphone pro1 plus natural and i like it very much. i also loved how yamaha F310 was in my hands also. Both were very easy to play but i got the epiphone because..well i do not really know why. maybe for marketing reasons since it is considered to be the easiest guitar for beginners. No regrets though. i wish i could try the yamaha fs800 but unfortunately i could not because the store (or any other store close to where i live) did not have it in stock

Every guitar I have looked at on RUclips and listened to has inaccurate intonation. If you tune it so the G Chord is perfect the C chord will sound bad with notes (sharp and flat).
Something else I noticed that is real puzzling. When you intonate a guitar (open string and 12th fret) that matches this is what happens. Take the high E string for example. If you check the notes on the notes up and down the fret board you will discover that many of the notes are either a bit sharp or flat to center. In the 13 frets I have listen below there were only
4 actually have correct pitch. Check it out below.
    17th fret flat
    19th fret in tune
    16 fret flat
    14th fret sharp
    13th fret sharp
    11 fret is sharp
    10th fret flat
    9th fret in tune
    7th fret in tune
    5th fret flat
    3rd fret flat
    2nd fret in tune
This is in inaccurate pit notation on all 6 strings on both 99.9% of all electric and acoustic guitar. Most people do not hear it but I have ears with perfect pitch so I can tell you what notes are sharp and flat with a blindfold one. What does this mean? Guitar manufacturers are getting away with making UNPLAYABLE guitars!

The problem with all of these guitars (and I thought of buying this one) is that none of them have "PITCH ACCURACY". I assume the guitar is properly tuned so when you play any chord each note in the chord should have accurate pitch. This guitar is like all the others you buy in the store--you tune it accurately to one chord and all the other are out. When you were finger picking I could hear the notes that were either sharp or flat. I can hear it cause I have perfect pitch ears.
I can hear any notes that are out of tune. There is a beautiful ring when the guitar chord and notes are in tune and a nasty "sour" sound that drives me crazy.
Guitar manufacturers are getting away with producing sub music instruments because most people do not hear the "out of tune" notes but I do. No matter what kind of bells and whistles you put in a guitar if it does not have accurate pitch with each note then it should be considered "UNPLAYABLE"! The guitars they produce don't actually have to be perfect but they need to be
    reasonably accurate and I'll explain.
All of these mass produced guitars are off by near 1/2 fret in pitch (either sharp or flat) in certain notes of each chord. When you played an A chord on the 5th fret that was very accurate and it sounded nice to me. It had that ring but when you played the C chord there were clearly
    out-of-tune notes.
I've been playing guitars since 1963 and I have only played one guitar that had
"perfect Pitch" and it was a $50.00 Tasco electric guitar. It was a 3/4 scale and a friend (Dave Ney) gave it to me cause he didn't know how to play guitar. It had light gauge strings on it and it sounded terrible and I told him he could keep it. One day it needed a new set of strings on it and I replaced the light with heavy gauge and guess what happened. The guitar was PERFECT from the 1st fret to the 21st fret. Every chord rang like a harp and every combination of notes was a pleasure to listen to. Unfortunately the Agnes flood of 72 destroyed it and I have never seen one for sale anywhere since. It also did not have an adjustable but a fixed bridge with a strange contour.
So I know they can make guitars that are actually playable (every note) is properly where it
should be but I have not seen any you could buy in a music store. I'm glad most of your guitar players out there don't have an ear that hears pitch imperfections or you would probably
despair of every trying to play in a band. I played in a Beatles, 60's 70's tribute band for 10 years and we had several Rickenbackers (325/ George Harrison 12 string) etc. and even set up they
unplayable and to me just overpriced junk barely worth the original price I paid for one back in the 1970's of $500 not the ridiculous $1,800 + they sell for today. I know they can make great guitars
for a reasonable price but I haven't see one yet so if you know of an acoustic/electric that has
    flawless pitch let me know!

Played one of these at a local music shop. Wasn't at all impressed. The basic Epiphone dr100 is a better sounding guitar and it has strings through body.

There's no difference in string through body and string through bridge in sound .

What is actually an English accent ? Do you know how many accents there are across England, leave aside the whole of Bitain?
That guitar does sound pretty ordinary though. Not worth more that 50 quid
