Facts. I mean you can even connect this to the LEGO special shorts where Poe indirectly mentions Grakkus and a ton of comic stuff shows up. You’d honestly think lego would be the last thing to ever refrence EU materials
One of my favorite little nods is when you do the side mission where you investigate who shot first in the cantina, one of the witnesses references the special editions by mentioning how Han has a flexible neck
The Eddie Izzard one is absolutely deliberate. The brick that you get inside the Death Star canteen when you buy it as a capital ship is called “Cake or Death”, which is a reference to a different Eddie Izzard standup bit.
"It's just the Rebels, Sir...they're here" "My GOD man! Do they want tea!?" "I think they're after something more than that, Sir. I don't know what it is but they've brought a flag."
Oh wow! Not just another Eddie Izzard standup bit, but specifically another one that was animated in LEGO by the same stop motion channel that did the Death Star canteen. Thorn2200
My favorite obscure reference HAS to be how when you first regain control of R2-D2 after receiving the Death Star plans from Leia, you'll move forward at an angle slightly askew--the same angle that would have R2-D2 run into a wall had he continued forwards, just like in ANH
When you're on Pasaana during that festival, there's a dude you can talk to that says, "This is one of the weirdest collections of folks I've ever seen! And I witnessed the Ewok-Dulok wars!" Deep cut Ewoks cartoon reference!
Yet still no princess Kneesaa from the cartoon who was a ewok who used force like magic. All these lego star wars games and still don't have her. Ironic you can buy toys of her at the disney parks still!
One mission is titled 'The Chewbacca Defense' which is a reference to South Park. Additionally, Darth Plagueis can be seen on a portrait in Palpatine's office.
A lot of these are so great. As well as the Ark of the Covenant on the Ervana, another fun , albeit far more obvious Indiana Jones reference is in the storyline for The Force Awakens; if I remember correctly, its after a "world-event" rather than a mission, so you can't replay it without starting a new save file, unfortunately; but after defeating FN-2199, a cutscene plays where he starts dramatically swinging his baton. Han casually raises his blaster, about to shoot him whilst he's showing off, a reference to Indy's brief battle with the random sword guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Of course, in Lego Star Wars, Poe comes and takes down FN-2199 before Han can fully reenact the scene.
Fun fact about the original scene, I believe there was originally going to be a sword fight but Harrison Ford wasn't feeling well the day they shot it, plus they felt just shooting the guy was more in line with the character.
Whatever is said about the flaws of the game, man the writing when it comes to the cartoonish characters, humor, and greater Star Wars universe are on-point. Caught a lot of references and dialogue I did not expect and was laughing at hard. I loved the Death Star novel so the Hard Heart cantina mention got me grinning in delight. Another one I was surprised to find was in Otoh Gunga when a Gungan civilian mentions the legendary leader Boss Gallo, who was a major character in the game Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. Played that game all the time as a kid.
@@StuartLugsden I can understand that, though I do feel that can be excused because this is a LEGO game. Part of the enjoyment of these games is how ridiculous they can get. If this was in the vein of Battlefront, Squadrons or Fallen Order and it still had this humour then yes it would be rather obnoxious.
What would be cool is a comic character pack with Black K, Doctor Aphra, 000 and the other murder droid and maybe Luke with a yellow lightsaber and Qira in her crimson reign outfit.
At 0:06 under Jango Fett's name it says in Aurebesh "Donor for the clone army!" and at 4:28 under the Sovereign Protectors it says "They protec but they also attac" in reference to the meme, I thought that was really funny
On Ootah Gunga, there is a Gungan who tells you about Boss Gallo and his mission to unite the Gungan tribes and build the city of Ootah Gunga. This is a clear reference to the first part of the Gungan campaign in the 2001 Star Wars strategy game "Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds" where you do exactly that in the first three missions
On Dagobah there is a kyber brick which displays "Swing From A Hairy Vine" after you collect it and it's a reference to a star wars parody song "SEAGULLS! (Stop It Now)" by Bad Lip Reading on RUclips
My favourite one is a puzzle in Dagobah called "Swing from a Hairy Vine" in reference to Bad Lip Reading's "Seagulls!" song, which uses clips of Yoda and Luke on Dagobah
I LOVE the made-for-TV Ewok Adventure movie! (the _first_ one, of course.) That's all we had for decades that was anywhere near "official" Star Wars, (besides the expanded universe "legends" stuff, like video games, comics, and novels, etc.) all the way up until the prequels finally came out. (it held a special place in my 7 year old heart when it first came out, and still does.) ✌
Easily my favorite reference was the one on Dagobah, "Swing from a hairy vine." Seagulls Stop it Now is one of the best songs ever made and I'm glad they referenced it.
I haven't been able to play the game yet, but it sounds like the people who made it really enjoy Star Wars and put a lot of effort into it. That makes me excited to play it.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who knew about the references to "Caravan of Courage" and Rey's original name: Kira. Thank you for bringing these to light! Also, I'm not sure how obscure these references are, but two of my favorites include "Womp Ratatouille" a mission where you find Womp Rats for Lobot to cook, (an obvious reference to Pixar's Ratatouille) and how in "Jedi Text Message", the mission where you unlock Beaumont Kin, he tells you he's putting "meat back on the menu.", which is a reference to the Uruk Hai's famous quote from "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Tours." Beaumont's actor, Dominic Monaghan, played Merry in those films, so it's a nice little nod to that.
Don't know if it's obscure or not, but I found the Outrider from Shadows of the Empire in the first mission of Episode 5. Was hit with a wave of nostalgia when I saw it on Hoth.
The second Ewok movie technically introduced us to the Nightsisters. The sorceress in that film was later stated to be a witch from Dathomir, making her a Nightsister. "Kira" was also the name of the Sith-turned-Jedi, Kira Carsen in the MMORPG "Star Wars: The Old Republic", where it's revealed that she was a "Child of the Emperor". Children of the Emperor are a kind of sleeper-agents, unknowingly going about their life until the Emperor calls them into action, at which point the brainwashing takes hold and they become loyal servants.
The little girl from ewoks showed up in novels grown up as a rebel pilot also and many think the dress leia was giving by the ewoks was the moms from the ewok films.
This ones wet and this ones wet and this ones wet, this one is wet, this ones wet, did you dry these in a rainforest? Why... with the power of the death star do we not have a tray that is f%&@&ng dry? God I love Eddie Izzard
One Kyber Brick on Dagobah is called "Swing from a hairy vine", which is a reference to line from the song "Seagulls" from Bad Lip Reading: Empire Strikes Back. Three Lord of the Rings ones: On Takodana, a protocol droid will talk about being able to throw droids up ledges before commenting "Nobody tosses a droid!" The character Beaumont Kin is played by the same actor who played Merry in LOTR. The first mission you do with him is called Second Breakfast. On the second mission where you recruit him, he comments about putting "Meat back on the menu"
Idk if this is a reference or if it is just canonically where Mustafar is located, but in the game, Mustafar is located in "The Western Reaches", which I took to be a reference to Vader's mistranslated name in Backstroke of the West, that being "Reaching the West of Reaches".
Fun fact: the darth vader vision in dagobath when the heads helmet comes off it reveals the Original luke head used in the old star wars lego sets which causes luke to be puzzled till it properly becomes the modern mini figure head.
My favorite so far is interacting with Beaumont Kin atop the Tantive IV parked on Ajen Kloss. The conversation mentions SECOND BREAKFAST, an awesome nod to the actor Dominic Monaghan, who portrayed Beaumont in the The Rise of Skywalker, but more famously portrayed Merry in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
I love Eddie Izzard, and I’m shocked that I missed that reference/joke for the Death Star Canteen! But I did catch the “Cake or Death” reference. Now they need to add an NPC named Mr. Stevens, Head of Catering.
My favorite reference is when in Ajan Kloss ontop of the Tantive 4 Beaumont Kin says Leia hasn't approved their second breakfast like Pippin in LotR and they have the same actor
I haven’t gotten to it myself, but I’ve read that it does? Someone said there’s a reference in a brick puzzle outside the temple. A Sith Lord’s tomb or something of the sort.
Heres a reference I bet nobody ever got: Theres a side-mission called "castle crashing" I think this is a reference to the XBOX 360 game castle crashers
One I've noticed is on Coruscant in the Uscru district. The mission giver is a female of greedos species. She is needing a new job after getting away from Jabba. The mission is called "Dancing With The Star Wars" which is a reference to "Dancing With The Stars"
One that most people would get but I consider obscure anyways is a kyber brick on dagobah that will say “swing from a hairy vine” Ofc a reference to bad lip reading
During episode 9 when ghost Luke is giving his ship to Rey there is a reference to the bad lip reading song my stick from the little alien guy who tags along
I thought Palpatine wanting to call Rey "Kira" was a reference to Kira Carsen, the Jedi Knight's companion from swtor. She was a former "child of the emperor"
I found this Easter egg. there was puzzle call secrets of yavin 4. you have to build a statue using the force. And when you finish building it it resembles a sith wayfinder. I know who is buried there even though he's fronm Legends. I cannot pronounce or spelled his name so I'm not going to say it

You missed a ewok movie nod. In the speeder bike mission in return of the jedi you speed by a burning part of the ewok village. Many think this is a nod to the start of ewoks battle for endor when the ewok village gets attacked and set on fire!
theres a what if comic where the millennium falcon crashes on earth and han dies. chewie lives and becomes big foot. hundreds of years later chewie encounters indiana jones. what if the ark of the covenant in raiders of the lost ark was aboard the millennium falcon when it crashed and somehow made it into the tomb where indy finds it.
The Ewok movies aren't great. but they aren't terrible either. and yeah, watching them on my couch during Christmas time when they were released on TV is a great memory.

A LEGO GAME has more obscure references than any other game before it. That's baffling lol
The mission ‘Better call maul’ is a reference to the Netflix tv ‘show better call Saul’

I thought the ark of the covenant on that level was a reference to indiana jones being playable in the complete saga
How do you keep track of all these small references? Do you have like a 1000 page long Word-document to collect them all?
Zuckuss can breathe gas, which is a thing gands do.
