Scotto is an excellent coach, maybe the last of her type. If she finds a singer who actually has the voice for verismo parts (unlike herself) she will pass on invaluable artistic knowledge.
Interestingly, she cares to distance Puccini from the verismo tradition here though. I also sometimes forget how tiny she was physically.
