This was a neat lot! Molly dosent have connecting rods btw, I don't remember if she had them in the show or not but her Trackmaster model definitely didnt

All the Mattel trackmaster engines require a screwdriver to get inside of them. On Thomas, Percy, Toby, and Diesel the screw is in the middle wheels in order to remove them. That confused me when I got a Mattel Trackmaster Easter Thomas set in 2010. That Diesel 10 is somewhat rare as he's a Mattel version with the Tomy-style face. They re-did his face in 2011 with smaller eyes. The 2nd Thomas is from the Misty Island Rescue sets (and was later featured in more sets in 2011) and is probably the best Tomy/Trackmaster Thomas ever made. He's missing his rods. With the talking engines, I think you might need fresh batteries. I also recommend leaning the circuit boards in the engine

Molly’s Trackmaster and Tomy Models never had siderods even though she had them in the show…

You could probably use the siderods on James for the Thomas with no siderods
Looks like you need to build another TOMY layout. My favourite has to be the fuel tanker. You can never have too many tankers

Just so you know that Thomas you unscrew it as Mattel were a lot stricter than Tomy & Hit Toya about safety and batteries.
