Holy cow, I did not know how rare those original Tomy Thomas' were. I can't believe it. Three months ago, I donated all my original Tomy's. Had I known I probably would of kept them.
We grew up with light blue Tomy tracks, but for some reason when the Trackmaster era started, we got rid of our Tomy stuff and switched to the wooden railway-type stuff.
@@fhuffhsiakdof3720 i of course was grateful with what I had when it came to tomy and track master so I never gave away my stuff and I’m glad I did as later in my life I would start collecting more tomy and track master stuff
Such a great surprise. I've been looking for that old Tomy stuff that is Thomas - I see the standard trains but it is hard to find Thomas. Nice Hornby coaches. I find that the OO stuff doesn't roll well on my HO scale crossings but it looks good. I cannot figure out what RUclips is doing with those search results sometimes. I know if I have been searching or watching videos it will show those related videos when I search something totally different. One thing that's trending is those super hero in real life videos which are puzzling to me. Ryan's Toy Review grew fast because of those "surprise"egg videos. Not sure how that is relevant to searching up a Dr Who & Thomas channel - lol
3:26 Australia has Region 4 and the UK has Region 2 format so under normal circumstances no. but the Doctor Who DVD range as well as other DVDs from that label can support 2 and 4, the way you can tell is look at the back, if it says 2 and 4 it will play. also this is a pointless fact but those ones aren't sold separately. State of Decay was in the box set The E Space trilogy along with Full Circle and Warriors Gate and Logopolis (Tom Bakers Last story) was part of New Beginnings along with The Keeper Of Trakken and Castrovalva (Peter Davisons first story) Just to let you know.
The coaches that Gordon pulls are colored Green and light Cream. the white and red coaches are usually for James and Henry. But Gordon sometimes pulls those two. he's just mostly seen pulling the other coaches.
Leo you've really opened my eyes here!! I left primary school last year and during the holidays I started watching you and since I've realised they have HUGE tubs of ERTL and rare Tomy toys!!! I'm quite convinced that they'll end up in the bin one day and they definitely should be saved! What do you think??
hey leo, on ebay right now there is a whole tomy dark blue track playset with the fat controllers, Thomas with traction tyres and lots more. you just need to type in tomy dark blue track Thomas. I just thought you might like to know :)
I managed to win one of those Thomas on a bid on eBay a couple days ago and it just arrived today. It is in pretty good condition, the red lining on the side is still red, and the switch on the back is still there too. And he works as well!
Those checkout trains were actually available as a newspaper promotion. The Sunday mirror did this token thing where they gave away a storybook every week, and you got a checkout Thomas with the first one. Just so everyone knows.
Leo be careful about finding Traction Tires for that 1992 Tomy Thomas, my brother in law had a similar Tomy Set (with a American Santa Fe Type engine) from the dark blue track and I was playing with it recently and the traction tires on that engine just crumbled apart, I just want to warn you about that so you won't be surprised if that happens to you when you get new traction tires for this Thomas. Also be careful when opening up that Thomas, when I open but the Santa Fe engine to clean it up, I opened it upside down by accident and all the inner components came off and it's a nightmare to put back together (I'm not sure if the instructions that would had come with these sets had this in there) but I have yet to find those instructions.
Something fishy with the YT search for sure... :/ Nice finds! What a lovely user, very nice vintage Tomy indeed. How did you get the tires off without breaking them ?? (if they're so old)
If you want to get good quality packaging like you spoke about in another video use Amazon it sells many things and they deliver it perfectly it would defenetly satisfy you
The DVDs should run fine, Region 2 in the UK and Region 4 in AUS are both PAL and us the same interlacing, they should run on any standard AUS region DVD player without a problem as they are basically the same.
I bought a box of old wooden railway trains, and in the bottom there was a few pieces of tomy dark blue track and the engine for that type of track no.12 in the red version and a few freight cars and a caboose
I have one of those 'stud' Thomas's and Annie, clarabel, multiple troublesome trucks, and lost of track and building system parts. They are currently sitting around doing nothing so I would love for you to have them, it makes me sad i can't send them to you. If there is ANY way I could get them to you please tell me as he is in nice condition, has loads of other stuff, and I would prefer him to be loved by somebody I know about like you, than anyone else.
Also I have a question Leo! Have you ever gotten ahold of any of the 1989 releases of Thomas! They come in cases, and are either push alongs or motorized. I wish I could send a photo so you could see what I’m talking about…
That Gordon was part of a set that was basically trashed. I see it as spare parts now. Finding that early TOMY Thomas stuff is quite tricky and I'm not foolish enough to start looking on e-bay.
While eBay isn't all that bad, since this era of TOMY trains is mainly common in the UK I highly advise against dealing overseas. I had a really bad experience once trying to acquire these.
I would say the jewels in the crown is all of the Hornby stuff you got because I have a lot of time for Hornby trains. also was that Thomas set in the background a knock off?
I have a big heart for the Hornby Tri-Ang made in England trains. To me that was the golden era of Hornby and that stuff just goes on forever. The move to DCC has been a bit awkward for Hornby, they have not presented DCC like Marklin. I think they need to!
Gordon's Express Coaches are the green striped ones. The red striped ones are called "Composite Coaches". I have one of each coach, so I remember the packaging.
Fun Fact: There are only two "Tomy Trains" (What the blue track toys were called) sets themed around Thomas and Friends. A Thomas set and a Percy set. The other engines were sold separately.
Wrong. ;) There were actually three sets, or four if you want to count the Percy 'pack'. There was: The basic Thomas set The 'deluxe' Thomas set The 'Thomas and Percy's Big Adventure' set, which was basically the deluxe set but with Percy and the trucks if I remember correctly.
I like how good condition that dark-blue-track-era Thomas looks... but I don't get why it has white stripes. I also have the engine, a little more worse for wear, stickers taped on by the previous owners, scratched and beaten up, one traction tire replaced and rear magnet gone... but the stripes on both sides are still red. Could the white stripes be from sun damage? I liked the LEGO-esk aspect that the wagons provided... and the fact that I could kind of build my own sheds/stock off the bodies of the things that had the stud connections. It seems the powered body that you pulled the traction tires off of for the Thomas was in fact from the Gordon of the range! That was rather surprising. And the pulling power of that little old guy! I mean, I know the old Tomy wagons were light, but if one of the newest Thomas engines had that much power... well, I'd probably complain less about them! Delighted to see you finally have one of those Thomases (how do you make "Thomas" plural anyway?) in your collection!
Ah, I'm afraid you've confused plural with possessive. Thomas' or Thomas's suggests that the train is his, not that there are multiple Thomases. I might have done a couple Google searches after posting :p
Worp! Worp! The Doctor has landed on Sodor ! He landed his Tardis not on but IN Tidmouth sheds. He was being chased by a Dalek ,went through a portal and Poof! Landed here! But he crashed and broke the roof of the sheds and almost landed right on top of Edward, who, luckily chuffed straight on the turntable.
Sorry to ask but could I have those Doctor Who DVDs if they don't work or you aren't bothered by them. I am a big Doctor Who and a Thomas and Friends fan as well. I mean, I like watching your videos especially to see back models of the Thomas and friends characters.
Super story Leo, hope the joy here helps to make up for your previous unhappy "net" purchases. : ) The Dr Who figures are nice and small, you can sneak them into your videos when you wish. : ) Regards, Cliff.

Almost to 1 mil, keep up the good work Leo.
There's not that many people who have the old style Tomy Thomas. You, Leo, are one of the selected few to own this.
I had the old dark blue tomy stuff and im 18
I LOVE Your videos Leo
Ah yes the good ol days where i watch this dude's video for the whole day when i was like 5
whoooo seriousl childhood flashbacks with that 1992 thomas :D also had the earl grey ones too :)
It's a great trip back in time, how different things were

The coaches that Gordon pulls are colored Green and light Cream. the white and red coaches are usually for James and Henry. But Gordon sometimes pulls those two. he's just mostly seen pulling the other coaches.
James usually pulled Annie & Clarabel-esque coaches.

I wish I still had my old tomy trains I would have given them to my daughter who is train mad! Old tomy sets do pop up quite a lot on eBay in the U.K.
hey leo, on ebay right now there is a whole tomy dark blue track playset with the fat controllers, Thomas with traction tyres and lots more. you just need to type in tomy dark blue track Thomas. I just thought you might like to know :)
I don't use e-bay anymore, just too much rage & problems from the sellers there.
Tomy did make some american trains, such as an Amtrak train.
Wow amazing
Great gift box there! Are you really turning down free Thomas-filled packages?! That is like a dream come true for me haha.

I remember watching Doctor Who in 2007
When I was younger I had a set of tomy dark blue track.

RUclips search is very busted, the longer I'm on this site the more I see it tilted towards BIG business. Dare say money talks
That Thomas almost looks like the younger brother of the Thomas you found on the side of the road
Omg I had that in a set with Percy when I was a kid
the united kingdom has a different money system-
£ = $
cents = pence
for example:
£5.24
Five pounds and twenty-four pence
If you want to get good quality packaging like you spoke about in another video use Amazon it sells many things and they deliver it perfectly it would defenetly satisfy you
I like Doter Who
Does Hornby coaches are Gordon's express coaches
it depends if you're dvd player is region locked or not you can easily find dvd players that are not region locked
The DVDs should run fine, Region 2 in the UK and Region 4 in AUS are both PAL and us the same interlacing, they should run on any standard AUS region DVD player without a problem as they are basically the same.

The George you received is an Ertl model. The licensing details are under his roof incase you are wondering.
The Let's go Thomas' look excited
Venturian popped up under that search? Wow. They have about 10 Doctor Who Videos out of their 500.
Also the other DW Figure you couldn't identify was a Sontaran.

The George is an Ertl
One RUclipsr in the UK mentioned that the Checkout Thomas in his "Recent Thomas & Friends Items" is a knock-off Take N' Play/Take Along Thomas.
The Dalek Patrol was in the Doctor Who Adventures Magazine.
you seem to have dark blue track gordon's motor/wheels and his tender wheels in that box of old tomy stuff, so what happened to gordon and his tender?
That Gordon was part of a set that was basically trashed. I see it as spare parts now. Finding that early TOMY Thomas stuff is quite tricky and I'm not foolish enough to start looking on e-bay.

I have seen the Checkout Thomas' in the UK
I went to a Cafe and saw one on the roof of the soda machine
Hi😀
u might not know y is this not a ertl George because this small one is actually tomy beause this little guy is in one of these tomy
sets
And gordon from the drak blue track is so hard to find
That is a really amazing. Also where did you get the extra traction tires?
That looks like Gordon's chassis so probably him.
correct
Thank you.
I do believe that the George the Steamroller toy is from ERTL.
He is. I have that model of George also. The License Details are under his roof.
I'll look under the roof. I think I already have one of those but having another is excellent
leokimvideo I didn't know until recently it had the writing under the roof.
brilliant video!
why is there lego compatible rolling stock for tomy?
I have the dark blue Thomas Gordon and Percy and the gears are for elevated track which have gear marks
And I call the dark blue track engines original tomy

Tomy used to work for lego they also worked for barbey
You were right about trump
0:12 that one Thomas in the background has a rather… “interesting” expression,
