Currently unable to use the internally built microphone on a NEW Acer Travelmate P4 laptop. Finally got the 3.5mm jack to work. After using a 4th headset the computer finally recognised as plugged into the jack, I had to reset the 3.5mm jack input and output defaults. The troubleshooter and driver updates for the internal microphone are telling me it is in currently in use and currently working and updated. It is also enabled and not muted. Still not picking up voice or any sound. Frustrating, why can't new stuff work as it should? This appears to be a common issue.

SAME ISSUE!!!do not have the recording audio troubleshooting option under the "OTHER TROUBLESHOOTING". I have (background intelligent transfer service) (Bluetooth)(camera)(program compatibility troubleshooter)(video playback)(windows media player)(privacy resources) any assistance???

Im here from the video when u upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. Im in the part where you have to burn a disc, it says that a disc burner wasn’t found. Can you help me?

I have to say i was doing a youtube video and i use obs and adobe so the problem was that another microphone was set to default so my audio was not working
and when i runed the troubleshoot i managed to set it back and got my normal mic back.thanks so much❤❤❤❤❤

I bought a brand new Lenovo with Windows 11 and installed all the latest updates and the Lenovo BIOS update. The built-in microphone refuses to work when using any video conference software (Teams, Ring Central, Zoom, etc) but if I plug in a headset then everything works just fine! It is driving me crazy! (I blame Windows 11)
Same with my Acer. Went to the store to ask their workers to help with this issue, but again the same issue
I ended up contacting Lenovo directly and they sent me a box to send the laptop to them for analysis. They ended up replacing the built in camera and returned it to me 2 days later. It works just fine now. They said the camera microphone was defective. Go figure.@@EugeakaEugene

i have acer aspire 3 . i bought it in Rs80000 ( nepali rupees ) but neither the microphone is being access nor the video quality is good i'm being crazy

Some laptops have this Stereo Mix by Realtek thingy, you have to enable that. That's what i did. So thanks, this was useful

Hey everybody I found the solution, Go to your device manager and then go down to sound Video and game controllers, there you will see a option called Intel Smart sound technology for digital microphones;, most likely it is disabled' go through the steps to enable it and then your voice typing will work and your microphone that is built into your laptop will show up. that's what I used to type this comment, voice typing, it finally worked. peace
