PTC Creo 4.0 tutorial: Assembling with Constraints

- In PTC Creo Parametric and Pro/ENGINEER are multiple methods to assemble components. In this video tutorial, you will learn primary methods to create Creo assemblies.
Like 3D models, all-new assembly models include several characteristics in common. If you create your assembly models from standardized templates, you can save time (you do not need repeatedly define company standard information - parameters, relations, units, materials, etc.)

this is the best lesson I learned so far... thanks for effort and time ...
Great assembly lesson. Thanks.
great! thank you a lot for the detail explanation!
Great explanation..
When placing a part, if the part is not fully constrained, the system, usually by default, offers an "allow assumptions" option. This will finish placing the component based on the best, or first placement options selected. If you off the allow assumptions check box, you later manipulate that part for movement or visual clearance check. Its a useful thing to be aware of.
Thanks Joe for your comment. Bye Vladimir
thank you sir!!

Is there a way to create key mappings for CREO ASSEMBLY to execute options COINCIDENT and DISTANCE -- you couple two parts in an assembly, based on an axis, and CREO defaults to something, usually distance. With a push of a keyboard button, C makes it COINCIDENT, A is ANGLE OFFSET, P is PARALLEL, N is NORMAL, X is CENTERED and so forth... Is there a way to do this? Thank you very much!!
Hi, you can create new mapkeys as you need (here is the tutorial: ruclips.net/video/2UP0UtlGmos/видео.html) In default creo configuration is not set as you need. My sugestion - do not use only one key button (I use always doble keys - e.g. AO as Angle Offset, or OP as Open Part) If you use only one Key .. e.g A ... the you can not use AO .. because A would like to run defined commands for A mapkey and O ... will be not acccepted for AO
Best regards, Vladimir
@@4kside Vladimir, thank you very much for your quick reply, I watched your tutorial, but it is way too advanced for me, I could not understand what nd is, and I could not get anything from that tutorial.
What I could use, at my level ( absolute beginner), is an assembly that starts with two parts (one default, one to be added), and a simple, vanilla CREO 3.0 fresh install, no other configurations added bu the users to the config file.
My list of shortcuts can be of two letters, no problem: Angle Offset = AS, Coincident = CD, Centered = CX, Distance = DS, Parallel = PL, Normal = NM and so forth...
Hi, I will try to create these mapkeys.. No prob, but now I have Creo 4 and latest installed.. So I hope that it will be working for Creo 3 also, let's try. Give me some days 👍😉
Hi, I have created mapkeys and video based on your request. Please check latest video: Assembly placement mapkeys - increase your efficiency
Bye, Vladimir
Is it possible to change the position of the 3d dragger relative to the model?
Hi, thanks for your question but the dragger is possible to move only if you use flexible modeling features (not possible to set new location in an another modeling or assembly features)
Could you tell me how to change the default appearance and default background colour in creo
Hi, I will create quick video tutorial for you soon as possible :)
Vladimir Palffy your videos are good. Can you design car in creo 3.0.because no one has done car bodybuilding in creo 3.0.

Vladimir Palffy can i have your mail id. please mail me at dineshkumarank3@gmail.com
When would you do it?
Hi - I have created this car with freestyle modelling (2 features for "car body") - do you think something like this> goo.gl/3Heqdr ?
Where do you view all the mates?
Hi, when you place components, expand Placement tab (left top corner)
hola saludos, he intentado por mucho tiempo unir estas 2 piezas, llevo 2 dias intentando unirlos y no he podido
Hi Jose - it wokrs now or no?
no mi amigo, estoy intentando muchas veces
It is easy - select only Surface and 2nd surface and system will lock first direction. Than continue in another directions.
