Such a great video bro... I have so many gadgets to research now!! LOL Some "late-Christmas" shopping for myself. That North XL case is probably gonna be mine! lol

Good video! I contacted you on Minnect regarding building a PC vs a Mac. I wanted to thank you for your input. The new PC is AWESOME. Keep up the great work everyone!
The one thing I agree 100% on I also kind of disagree with you on. Intel's b580 battlemage, I don't think that's gone under anybody's radar but it's amazing card for the price, I plan on picking one up myself and I'd say anyone that is still gaming at 1080p and maybe 1440p this is all the card you'll need until you decide to step up to 4k.
I wanted to commend you on your great channel, I love the fact that you also give attention to video editors, content creators. Unlike most other channels, they concentrate on "gamers", almost all popular PC channels just concentrate on that. Not all of us what to see how many FPS you can get or case about super detailed comparisons of CPU/GPU's etc. only to see we are basically talking about differences of seconds. I am pretty sure no one is going to build a new PC to gain 3 seconds rendering a video for example. We thank you for the great channel and I wish you the very best.

It's funny I have been watching you for a few years now and somehow I never subscribed to you, but after you gave that mini-review of the current state of the 14900k, you automatically got my sub... it's refreshing to see a reviewer now that isn't just on the FOMO hype bandwagon on hating intel CPUs ... the 12th-14th gen CPUs are all great CPUS, sure they draw power and can run hot but if you know what you're doing they are amazing for gaming and especially for Productivity. Sure they might no longer have the gaming crown of AMD but overall you can't beat their overall performance in Both gaming and Productivity compared to AMD where you usually have to choose between an X3D chip for gaming or a 90x for productivity. Intel repretation has tarnished sure and things at the top are changing for them but that doesn't erase the decades they where on top and their quality of CPUS
The Fractal North XL is a gem, the Fractal graphics riser card and Fractal PSU not so much, both DOA. Wished I had never bought the ASUS ProArt mobo, sooooo much trouble. The leaks are that the Zenbook duo at CES in a week will be Ultra 9 285h... which leaked in an xps dell laptop had only a 19% improvement multi thread performance, less than 288v (lunar lake) which is guaranteed to be way more efficient. Sucks. I'm buying a lunar lake laptop, and pairing it with 2 foldable 15.6" monitors (21" monitor combined; this specific model has a TINY bezel in the middle, better than Jsaux flipgo pro). Terrific video Lauri. That's some handsome folks in the chats there. Here's to looking ahead to another great year and more great content. Thank you sir, you are greatly appreciated.
10Gb network over USBc 2 options depending on the card you have in your pc ... RJ45 or SFP 10g card ... OWC Thunderbolt 3 10G Ethernet Adapter, (OWCTB3ADP10GBE) + Qnap QNA-T310G1T for RJ45 and QNA-T310G1S for SFP+ be shure to buy the right one for you setup going to a pc or server rack switch...look at the port available then buy something ....
I went with a 4070 Ti Super. I was going to hold out for the higher Battlemage cards, but would rather not gamble that it will match the 4070 Ti Super for production work. I WILL for sure be looking for the next Gen of Intel cards for my next upgrade, but I am happy with what I got. This was a jump up from a TItan X.
Lauri, thank you for amazing year and all your amazing content! With your help and recommendations, I have built my video editing PC that became viral on RUclips 😊 Really hope to chat with you one day. Need your advice on how to make my video editing pc better, and will it be a good thing to combine 4080 and a770 in one build ;)
I built a PC to start editing my motorbike videos and one thing I wish I got was a Osmo pocket 3, maybe next year. I've got a drone and varies other action cams and stuff. But the small handheld gimbled 4k cam is something I should have got over another action cam.
I'm a gamer and I'm a button masher since vanilla wow in 2004 pew pew. Many gamers will know the w key or the space bar are usually the first to go. Ive been through many of the so called gaming keyboards. I stopped at Logitech G213. Been using the g213 since 2019 its now December 2024 still working like new. Also the MSI Clutch GM20 Elite as my gaming mouse. I been rocking this gaming mouse since about 2021. Both the keyboard and mouse were pretty hefty in price when I first got them but have come down in price. For durability they both rock. The keyboard is linear rubber not red or blue. Its not super quiet but its more on the quiet side instead of clicky mechanical sounding.
I agree, the Logitech MX 3S is absolutely amazing. Have used it for at least 2 years and no complaints. The softwere, however is a bit weird. It used to be better.
Hi, the ProArt motherboard doesn't support the Ubuntu system; the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers don't work. When I reported these problems to Asus, they said that only Windows is supported. However, since it's a motherboard designed for creators, it should work with other systems as well.
End of 2023 I got my XFX RX 7900XT Black Edition for 679.99 plus $80 off in amazon rewards. It was the right move, after hearing the next gen specs of Nvidia and AMD.
Well the upcoming Nvidia and AMD cards have different problems. The Nvidia cards seems to be ball to the wall spectacular bastards slapping every card from the previous generating hard. But they also look as if they will be very expensive, slapping the users over the face when even thinking about them. The new Radeon cards however are not beating the previous gen to the face. It seems they will be about as fast as a 7800 XT at best when you talk rasterization performance. But AMD says they will be a lot better at Ray Tracing. As for price I don't really know, but I doubt they will be all that cheap. What will be interesting is just how well they will be at RT. Will it make people who bought the 7900 XTX feel cheated? RT performance in games that use it for global light is really not that great for the current Radeon cards, the 7900 XTX included. So before we see the prices and benchmarks I don't feel ready to be all that negative about the next gen, but I won't praise them before we see prices either. The B580 from Intel was an interesting card, and right now it is a pretty nice card at the price point. But it's not likely to survive the new batch if Nvidia and AMD care about that price range. What's interesting is that some one at Intel said the Druid GPU was close to being ready for tape out. This was months ago, and while Intel has a lot of economical problems I wonder if they might be looking at getting Druid out on the market as soon as possible. It should be a solid upgrade from Battlemage, and it could explain why we haven't heard a hint about B750 or B770 being in the works. If they get Druid out it would stomp all over a Battlemage B770. So it might be a bad idea to try to sell those. Battlemage is also an expensive GPU to make. The chip is large which makes it likely to have a lot of damaged cores on a wafer. I don't know about Druid, but if it's any smaller or if it uses a chiplet style design then it might be a lot cheaper to manufacture. I seriously hope that Intel has something going on here as a third manufacturer would be a very good thing for the users. More competition are usually a good thing. But at the same time Intel need to see good figures for their GPU's or Battlemage might be the last GPU for this attempt. At least they came further than back in 98 when they tried to enter the graphics market with the i740. They did make a i752 and was working on i754, but only a few i752 was sold and I don't know if any i754 were ever sold at all. So they have already come further than back in the 90's. That graphics program was terminated in the autumn of 2000.
I have a laptop that has ryzen 5 5600h along with rtx 3050 4GB and only 8 Gigs of Ram can you please test this out or answer me in this comment if if this is a good laptop for davinci resolve aur what can I do after the RAM upgrade? Vaise main BHARAT( INDIA ) mein rahata hun and this laptop's name is Hp Victus 16
Hi, Thanks for yours advice. i like to ask you .. which cpu and PC system is the best for working with music and DAW like cubase 15 and Abelton 12 and Reason 13 ?
About that Logitech master mx 3, I have S version and after 2.5 years of using it the left button started to malfunctioning. It does random double clicking or not clicking. I will replace the switches very soon but the S version is not durable as non S or older versions.
He missed off thanking Santa... Personally, i would have waited until the 9950x3d came out and just see how much better ya productivity could have been. I still don't believe you can go intel, not yet anyhows. The micro architecture updates aren't the major floor with 12th -14th gen cpu's it was mainly the quality of the silicon. No amount of updates can fix those. Have a great boxing day and new years, to all those involved with TN and to all those that watch.
I don't recommend the MX Keys. While the design, feel and volume level are all fantastic, the keys will break before you know it. I had mine for less than a year, and it started to go. I kept it in very, very good shape. If it were a cheaper keyboard, maybe, but it's not.
This is a weird video intro. You're basically explaining why you aren't trustworthy because all the companies you talk about and "review" are essentially paying most of your bills. How can we trust a RUclips channel to give us objective information on the companies that underwrite the entire channel? We can't.
could you plz build an affordable a.i. machine with new parts, that will run 2 cheap gpus like 2 rtx 4060s 16gig. for about $1,500 without the gpus. i expect thats gona be a thing soon.
While your comparing Macbook M4 Max to Threadripper is nuts. Honestly, I would have waited until the Studio M4 Ultra which will certainly crush it. Still, having a laptop even in the conversation is amazing. I've been a Windows user since 1.0 runtime with Ventura Publisher. I've built the majoring of my systems over the last 40 years. However, I think Mac HW now beats Windows HW at every level. A simple Macbook Pro laptop will beat most desktops and have all day battery. That's just nuts. Also, I don't think I want to build a desktop again. it's big, its loud and even a Mac Mini will beat it. Or get a Macbook and just go. Windows and Mac OS are just program launchers for me. I'm sure there are pros and cons to each. Some things easier on one vs the other, but that doesn't really matter. I've never wanted to pay the apple tax in the past for the OS, but now I'm having a hard time not looking at it. Sure, between $599 Mac Mini and $1500 Mac Mini pro, there is a gap. Mabook Pro 14 to 16 are great values as the deskop you'd have to build to beat them are in similar price ranges thanks to NVIDIA. We'll have to see where their CPU lands, but with 4090 pricing on the GPU so high, Mac looks like a value buy. Their greed makes Apple look like the bargin and since they treat Gamers as the lowest rung on the totam poll, their loyalty is only out of necessity. It's why I went to console. Funny, NVIDIA is Apple's best friend and they don't even know they are doing it.
merry christmas...regarding the 10gb port on your mac....do you have the correct cat cable connected to it,is it even connected to the router via cable...?,i am also guessing that your router has 10gb capability as well...and lastly your service provider....would actually be a good video to watch...hope to see it in the future....may 2025 bring you good vibes
So-called dead-end platforms are where the bargains are. The LGA 1700 chip I'd buy as 2024 closes out is the 14700K ($340 US). The AM4 chip I'd buy is the 5700X3D ($220 US) for a gaming machine or the 5950X ($330 US) for productivity.
When the gen13 and 14 processor problems were official and Intel seemed to be dragging it's tail when working on the problem I was thinking that now might be the time to buy a decent 14'th gen processor as surely they would have to lower the prices. Well I still haven't gone that way as here in Europe I haven't seen any price changes at all for the intel processors. Sure they weren't selling any, but the prices stayed high. Then Intel got new code out the door and got the MB manufacturers to include new items in the BIOS. So the prices stayed the same. Still don't think they are selling a lot of them, but as long as they remain at the premium price I don't feel like going that way. The AMD Ryzen processors are fine, and the AM5 socket has a few more years in it before it get old. Some times the market prices just don't follow the expectations. The new Intel processors are apparently selling well to the large computer manufacturers even if enthusiasts really have kept away from them. Intel claim they will have improvements coming that will make them perform a lot better, but until it's here, working without introducing new problems and has been shown to do what they claim I'm not going to consider those processors.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 A number of prebuilts are being sold with 13th and 14th gen CPUs. If those were going to pose a lot of warranty issues, one would think the companies who build systems would be using something else.
@@rangersmith4652 These manufacturers surely make sure the motherboards have all the latest bios versions with the microcode updates and the performance profiles. These are supposed to prevent the issues that has been discovered. But only time will tell for sure. Even if there turns up to be a problem the longer warranty from Intel should take care of that. And most computer manufacturers provide warranties for their machines that are more than a year. After that it's not their problem what so ever.
Great CPU , its ok that you got AMD, alot of sheep jumped shipped , but intel and its CPUs are a quality brand they just had sh$% leadership the past few years and sloppy quality control that caused some CPUs from last year from mostly the 13900k batch to slip through the cracks .. I get it its now cool based on the internet to hate on intel but lets not pretend that they where the number 1 brand when it comes to cpus for the last 2 decades before Ryzen 2/3 . they still make quality CPUS and their 14900k its excellent you just got to make sure you download the Bios update to be on the safe side. every company has their low point and this is intel finally having their low moment.
I wouldn't go that far. With all the microcode fixes an the BIOS additions for performance settings it should be a stable solution. Intel also raised the warranty to five years, at least I think it was five years, so you should be pretty safe getting a 14900K even if it will perform just slightly worse than it did before the fixes was implemented. But I wouldn't pay the prices I see today, which is identical to what they were before the problems went public and Intel eventually admitted that there was a problem. So don't pay what they were selling at before the problems were known, and use all the preventive measures published an it should be a decent computer.
This is like the Academy Awards! The creator focus is a needed topic. Thanks for covering that space for us. Happy new year.
I cannot agree more, the amount of vital information I learned on this channel is astronomical to say the least. It further amplifies the fact that pc building for creators is a different ball game compared to gaming pc building.
Such a great video bro... I have so many gadgets to research now!! LOL Some "late-Christmas" shopping for myself. That North XL case is probably gonna be mine! lol
Happy Boxing Day, Lauri and team. 🎁
Damn

Now, I got a few items on this list that got my attention so thank you for that! And I'm happy to see the growth of the channel this past year. Congratulations!
From being around from early on to now I can see the difference but you're the same guy if that makes sense.... and that's a good thing. The intro's have became almost cinematic gems and the comedic ones like the Ultimate All AMD HEDT build! 😄
My go-to channel when it comes to PC ;)
Thank you!
Good video! I contacted you on Minnect regarding building a PC vs a Mac. I wanted to thank you for your input. The new PC is AWESOME. Keep up the great work everyone!
Glad to hear that! :)
You basically thanked every manufacturer in the tech space.
You Killed It All Year with Quality Videos Bro. You Can Only Go Up From Here On💯
this channel inspired my PC build. I build on a core i5 12600K, the DDR5 route..

I am pretty sure no one is going to build a new PC to gain 3 seconds rendering a video for example. We thank you for the great channel and I wish you the very best.
Awesome content Lauri
the pro art case is massive. you'll need the space for it. if you're a smaller creator, there will be a smaller version of it called pa401 coming. it's got most of the features. largest mobo that will fit is atx. maybe do a review of it when it becomes available? i'm mostly a gamer but i've got a huge video library. watching your content has help immensely trying to figure out the best nas solution for me. i'm learning about creator things in the process too. win win
Magnet app is my go-to for window snapping on Mac. To me it feels just as good as snapping in Windows.
another great video. happy holidays
Insightful video for quality products. Thank you.
Great video 👍👍👍

Sorry but you're missing a few braincells. Intel's CPUs are faulty from the factory. And performance is lower than am5. Insane.
Absolutely true, @msg360.
Nice list. Thank you.
The Fractal North XL is a gem, the Fractal graphics riser card and Fractal PSU not so much, both DOA.
Wished I had never bought the ASUS ProArt mobo, sooooo much trouble.
The DJI pocket 3 is awesome !! I do all my video on it an not my Sony A7iv.
Thanks for your detailed reviews and guides, highly appreciated!
Your theme song sounds like some seductive love scene from the 90s lol. Love it

ther are TB3 Docking stations with 10gbits ethernet lan port. because you said, you need it for your workflow but you did not find something yet
The new lunar lake chip is realy great for handhelds , first benchs show damn great battery times ❤thx intel
I don’t know…….the 14900k is a big risk……don’t ya think. Who knows how long that chip will last long term.
Well, I'll be there test junkie for everyone :) 13900k is the 3rd year running fine, daily heavy workflow... :)

Out of curiosity comparing your MacBook pro m4 max to any other m4 model, how much ram is "enough" for editing in your opinion? Great video as always!
I think even 24GB will do, it's just the more you have the more headroom you'll have :)
@ that makes sense I’ll probably go for a M4 pro w/24gb ram or M4 Max w/36gb ram then, as always I greatly appreciate the reply!
What happened to the Flexispot BS11PRo ?
Love the MX master. I tried it about 2 years ago and will never buy any other mouse

Im rockin the 4070 ti super, save $200 to $300 and only the only loss is a few seconds of time; yup I am good !!

The gpd duo competes with that asus duo, but much better specs

After calculate how much money saved if not to proart (alternative model from same brand / other brand)
Right , the tax is real 😂
How much HONEY will get from this affiliate links?
I just didnt agree on the 14900k
The 13900k may be better and is a better value cpu
You lost me ar 14900k.. bang for buck? You Recomended? Really?
If it’s fixed, why not?
@@KevPez-ISit cannot be fixed, intel admitted that
Still been fixed with micro code update 👍
It goes to show how people can be out of touch
@@MrTomo89
The microcode update only slowed down the degradation 😉

Sorry. I didn't even bother to watch this video. It's the typical video that ends with the famous phrase "links below in the description".
merry christmas...regarding the 10gb port on your mac....do you have the correct cat cable connected to it,is it even connected to the router via cable...?,i am also guessing that your router has 10gb capability as well...and lastly your service provider....would actually be a good video to watch...hope to see it in the future....may 2025 bring you good vibes
dont spend anything. save
OnePlus 12.... Just better
Still sceptical using Intel chips. The risk is still too high. We need more desktop chip competitors.

'MERIKA!! 2025 is gonna be so GREAT
Basically just an advert channel
Sorry, but the Intel 14900K I would not even pickup as a gift!
@@msg360 I had a lot of issues with a 13700 and with their support which didn't help at all. Therefore I will not buy their crap, anymore!
@ ok no problem
I wouldn't go that far. With all the microcode fixes an the BIOS additions for performance settings it should be a stable solution. Intel also raised the warranty to five years, at least I think it was five years, so you should be pretty safe getting a 14900K even if it will perform just slightly worse than it did before the fixes was implemented. But I wouldn't pay the prices I see today, which is identical to what they were before the problems went public and Intel eventually admitted that there was a problem. So don't pay what they were selling at before the problems were known, and use all the preventive measures published an it should be a decent computer.
Dislike. Intel fan girl exposed
