    What is up with Rublev? He's been in a horrible mental state for the past 7 or 8 tournaments losing to people he shouldn't have lost to.

    • @ada5851

      He seemed to hold his cool fairly well until the last set. Honestly I'm just glad he didn't self-harm. It's definitely a process to work through your emotions and it seems like he's trying to build some mental endurance at least.

      WTF did you even watch the match, dude had zero mental issue, just can't hit his forehand with power and he doesn't have any other weapon. Tirante's forehand vs Rublev this match was like bullet train vs walking...

    • @jonas8993
      @jonas8993 3 месяца назад +16

      Tbf, I don't know if the problem with Rublev is his recent losses or the stagnation over the last few years. I'm gonna guess his recent losses are simply due to ups and downs in form and confidence. To me the real problem is that he really hasn't made any noticeable change to his game for the last... As long as I've been watching him. He keeps relying on his only weapon which is intensity. Even when he did have nice winnings streaks he was simply outpacing players that couldn't outplay him. But he was and he is still missing variations, and the ability to take his time in offense AND in defense.
      Not to mention his tentrums but it's linked. If he can see what he can do better and focus on it he will relax. If he keeps doing the same thing and losing the same kind of matches he will get upset

    Ups and downs are normal in the world of sports but I feel for Andrey so much. He’s been one of my favorite players for the past few years and I hope he wins and gets his confidence back soon. I’m really wishing him all the best and hope he considers maybe a different coach or something - I don’t know what’d help but he has so much talent it’s like there’s a mental barrier he can’t cross.

    I feel Rublev and Ruud’s games are not improving or evolving and just playing the same, “standard” tennis game, while new talent is coming onto the scene with more power, better physical condition, etc. They’ll need some reinvention to stay in the top 20 IMO.

    • @jacobsimangan7031

      I don't agree entirely. Rublev just won Madrid earlier this year but is clearly in the worst mental state he has been ever for the past few months. Ruud won his biggest title too and has been doing better than last season (aside from RG), but he is just notoriously sporadically inconsistent.

    People are so used to the domination of the BIG3 that anytime a highly ranked player loses to someone below they lose their mind and say their career is over 😂. This is completely normal. All the top 100 can go toe to toe together , if they believe they can win they can win.its alwyas that the better player played worse not the underdog played well. People need to relax.

      There is no logic in the results if one is based on the rankings. Musetti played in the Wimbledon semifinals and a few months before he lost in challengers and had two defeats against players who were not in the top 100, sometimes there are moments where the level drops. Tirante is a great player with a lot of potential who is growing a lot in recent times and is intelligent, you have to be perceptive to understand that the opponent is not in a good mental moment many times.

He just cannot position himself properly to return serves, or hit any shot with footwork adjustments or serve accurately... net play/feel or pretty much anything well to save his life. He is simply awful. If he's struggling this badly mentally and not remembering how to play tennis anymore, he may need to shut down the season to get some professional help in many areas of his life and tennis, and then come back next year.
