This is great to know Maz! Thank you. I have many, many regular acrylic paints and was curious about Golden Opens but did not want to buy another range of acrylic paints because Opens are prohibitivley expensive in my country. This will give me the chance to experience the idea of Opens without the huge expense. TFS!!
I just got some Golden Open paints and was about to do similar 'open time' tests! Thankfully I found your video first coz you have saved me the hassle, lol! Anyway, I don't think I could wait 2 weeks never mind 6 months - I'm far too impatient. Plus I'm itching to get started with these new paints. I applaud you for having so much patience! 👏 I think your video will be very helpful to many artists like myself who have finally managed to treat themselves to some Golden Open paints. Well done! 😸
Thank you so much for your presentation on this topic. I have been having problems finishing my work because the paint dries out too quickly. You are a real blessing!
Forgot to mention... I also got some of the medium you are using. Can't deny I was confused about the difference between (a) Open Acrylic paint and (b) acrylic paint + Open slow-drying medium. However, you summed it up perfectly by explaining that Open paint is basically Golden acrylic paint which already contains the slow-dry medium. Now I get it! Again Maz, thank you so much for your clear, informative and immensely helpful video!

You’ll enjoy them. I’m finding the best results are with a “normal” acrylic underpainting.

I use a Dexas foldable clip board with room for paperwork storage, I'm trying to get a feel for the regular acrylics, it's a bit different than oils
