    Really enjoy this content. I eat up summer league every year, and never seem to get full. Basketball games all day- never going to complain about that 😆
    I love seeing how the new guys do and the ones busting their tails trying to make a team. I always find a few guys that aren’t on a regular season roster and I just root for them to keep playing well and end up making a team.
    Good in depth takes and I know you watched more than me and probably 99% of people. Like you said the stats don’t necessarily matter, just mainly seeing their skill sets and seeing how that can translate. Some guys just pad their stats but really can’t fit in as a role player on a team, so the stats are empty.

    Cody Williams did have one very good game of hitting 3's, mid shots and dunking. He has the skills. Collier was like a bull. He could get into the paint and also hit 3's. Filipowski improved with each game played. His first game in SLC he looked terrible and looked lost. His defense also improved each game also. He did block some shots, hit 3's, mid range shots and dunks. His rebounding also improved with each game. He was figuring it out. I think you underestimated the three Jazz players. But of course how you rated the players means nothing because the way each player develops will come out in their play during the season. But I also do agree with some of your ratings. I think some of the poor play by Filipowski at first was because of all the personal crap that was stated from individuals of why his stock dropped.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  2 месяца назад

      @@silverwolf1967 Oh yeah the whole rating system was purely summer league oriented haha. That’s why I wanted to be pretty clear on that.

    • @user-sj5lk6qr6q
      @user-sj5lk6qr6q 2 месяца назад +1

      Agree with @SilverWolf
      Jazz rookies, just like I thought when they drafted them won the draft.
      Williams has all the tools, and though his game does look like he isn’t aggressive, he is so smooth and he just doesn’t force shots to bump up his stats. He can score from all three levels, even finished with his left hand. His shooting was 55% and 38% 3s. To me the game looked easy for him. I was high on him before the draft. I rated Sheppard, Castle and Williams in my top 3 and nothing changed that from what I saw in summer league.
      Collier was up and down. Like you saw, but his vision and passing was better than I expected. So i am not super high on him but i see him lasting in the league as at least a backup PG. he was more engaged on D than I expected. Still think he was a steal at 29 and I thought he was a top 20 talent easily.
      Also on Collier at USC, he has no shooting around him so that didn’t open up his game. He also was injured and once he recovered his shooting was significantly better. So I think those 2 factors maybe skewed us against him at USC without looking specifically at what was going on.
      Flip impressed me as well. Like silver wolf said his confidence improved and the game seemed to slow down for him last few games of summer league. Not having watched him in college I really was impressed with all his tools. I couldn’t figure out what part of his game scared off teams. I think his floor is high and I didn’t realize his handle was that good as well as his handle.
      Overall I like your takes- I was just thinking maybe you didn’t watch much of the Jazz games so that’s why you rated them like that.

    I'm tryna make this draft class in 2k, this video made me think I have probably messed up some of the overalls. I'm not tryna waste your time so just to be quick; out of these, which player(s) jump out as needing to be adjusted? (bearing in mind overall and potential are separate values):

    I know you apologized to us jazz fans but I would argue that you ranked each guy 1 rank too low (and this isn't hate on my end, still love content). Both Collier and Filipowski had games where they looked great and other's where they didn't but I believe they showed flashes of what the Jazz wanted them to do. 1) Flip showed that he could help facilitate an offense pretty well in his last summer league game and while he doesn't play above the rim he was flashing the Kelly Olynyk game play a bit. 2) Collier showed in the first number of games that he could get into the paint whenever he wanted and he was also pretty good at protecting the ball while distributing it. In Las Vegas he didn't do as well, but his aggressiveness with passes really changed between SLC and Vegas leagues and I think that may have been coaches advising him to push the limits. 3) Williams definitely showed a bit of disinterest in game 1 of Vegas SL but I didn't see that the rest of the time there. He showed a lot of play making while being engaged offensively. Defensively i could see some complaints but honestly think you are putting a little too much into what he showed game one of Vegas SL.
