Wow...this was wonderful.❤ I actually knew the answer to the question, "Why the tenor clef?"- which is the music notations issue. And I knew the answer to why moving over one string will give you the right note, "5ths." BUT I don't quite truly understand WHY that is so. I know that seems silly, but it's true. I will eventually grasp the logic of it. I started learning the cello at the age of 51, almost two years ago and I'm STILL learning the basics. I feel like it's taking FOREVER just to learn the right notes in first position, but that's just the way it is. Someday I'll play as effortlessly as you do☺️... hopefully before I die.😏❤
It's wonderful to hear about your cello journey starting at 51! Your dedication and enthusiasm for learning at any age are truly inspiring. 🌟 Understanding the "whys" of music, like the concept of fifths and the use of the tenor clef, can sometimes take a bit more time to click, and that's perfectly okay. As for learning the basics, remember that everyone's journey is unique, and progress isn't always linear. It's more about the journey than the destination. The fact that you're embracing this challenge and making steady progress, no matter the pace, is something to be proud of. And with time and continued practice, you'll find yourself playing more effortlessly. 🎻❤️
Teacher Maxim, I am so happy you are back on the job! Great work as usual! I always missed the TENOR Clef and I thought it is "impossible"! But now everything is clear. Thanks again. I missed you lessons.
@@Cellopedia yes everything is ok, you are being very inspiring in my journey as a celelist, I hope one day to have the opportunity to be your student ^^.
What was the fist piece you had to play in TENOR clef?
popper etude no.22
Chanson Triste, Tchaikovsky. Lovely but tricky (Suzuki no.4)
반디니 첼로소나타
The Swan Saint Saëns

Thank you! One of the best ways to support Cellopedia is to share a word about it with your cello friends!
"Why tenor clef even exist? Why cellists have to suffer through that?"
My thoughts exactly.
Good question - I might make a short video to address it :)
