There is not an 80s show like this out there with a bad theme, they are all mint, Airwolf, Ateam, knight rider, street hawk, Fall guy, Chips, magnum, hillstreet blues, ST elsewhere, cagney and lacey, Dallas, the list goes on and on, utterly mint the lot of them
Excellent as always . On that mix of the theme it's lower velocity on the second and fourth notes in the bar. And it's the DX-7 Bass 1 doubled with the OB-X which nearly everyone did back in that era, to give the bass a bit more analog sub.
One 1980’s show that was less well known than Air Wolf and Night Rider was Street Hawk. The opening theme was composed by Tangerine Dream. Later on Christopher Franke composed the soundtrack for Babylon 5.
Awesome job so far, Dr. Mix! The only thing I suggest is that when you complete the whole theme song in part 3, is that you add Airwolfs jet scream through the canyons. There has to be a sound you can emulate in your collections of sounds. It would be the cherry on top of the final treat!!! 👍
When I first listened to your sequencer, I thought to myself: "this guy is wayyyyy off, he doesn't hear it properly". But then the click in my head was there! The combination of sequencer and bass always confused me, it seems! When you put them together, it felt good! I'm a big fan of Airwolf (music and series). So when you announced to do Airwolf I was ecstatic! Good job, so far!
Maybe Super VHS from Baby Audio will help. I think you have to bounce the whole thing trough something that adds this fluttery compression of VHS because is sounds way to clean.
I had never used UVI software, but recently got a Touche SE as part of my lockdown treats. And the Touche Lie software uses a player version of UVI Workstation for its base sounds. I must say, very impressed with the quality and sounds in that software. UVI Workstation will be my next software purchase.
Very nice to hear. So much nostalgic feelings! :). As a suggestion for your next project, the Airwolf soundtrack gave me some associations with the intro of the cartoon Thundercats. If you don't know it, at least listen to it once. :)
I'm not sure how to say this when it applies to a 12/8 time signature, but shouldn't the bass be more quarter notes than the longer sustained note? dotted quarter? dotted third? you get what I mean?
You are absolutely incredible. I have a question for you. I'm working on bringing Airwolf to Microsoft flight simulator and would love your expertise to add music to a release trailer. Would you be willing to share your work with me to use? (You would be fully credited of course)
The new generation have no emotions and meaning in the sound they make ,I darent call it music . they don't know what quality is bless their cotton socks😊
With sequencers these days it's relatively easy compared to back in those days. Best thing back then was an Amiga with MOD Tracker in terms of computer aided music creation.
While it is definitely much easier these days, Jan Hammer (the producer of the Airwolf theme and producer of a large portion of the music from Miami Vice) was known for using the Fairlight CMI, which had sequencing capabilities, and there were also software sequencers like "Master Tracks Pro" available for Commodore 64, Apple IIgs and Atari computers.
16:58 hahaha that is me exactly with the annoying headphone cable that the Sennheiser's have ... great headphones but the cable ... dunno what it is about this specific cable lol
The sound of Airwolf's turbines is a sample of an F-104 engine howl and scream The F-104 Starfighter, mankind's most efficient method of transforming jet fuel into noise
I am going crazy to sync the audio track to the cubase tempo... how did you do it ? i have tried everything and watched dozens of youtube videos... the workflow that you are using is very convenient for deconstruction and i like it a lot but cannot fully implement... note i do not have cubase pro yet... i am still using AI version... thanks for your videos !!!
I know its a very long track, but "The Chase" from Giorgio Moroder seems like it's right in your wheelhouse. My favorite nuance of that song is how the intro synth slowly adds a delay that increases until it has basically doubled the original beat.
Hello Doc. Mix.. what about recreat the main Theme from Captain Future, the original is from Phil Fuldner , a very famous DJ from Germany... I like that sound. Would be very happy, if you think about it..
80s.. era when TV themes were awesome!
İ am so happy this chanel 400k subscriber n more, i hope 1 million
One of the great Theme Tunes along with Doctor Who and Knight Rider.

You missed the best MacGyver!
I am French and all the movies you mentionned were actually showcased in France too ! Amazing period! I miss this so much !
And most are written by Mike Post.❤
If the theme from Hardcastle and McCormick doesn't get your blood pumping, you must be dead.
@@Davionious MacGyver has some sick synth tunes in the episodes too - not only the title theme.

I cannot wait for The A-Team recreated video!
These videos are fantastic!
05:15 I love it! "Haha! Take one!!! Huhuhuhu !!!" Thanks again, Claudio

Sounds like Sylvester... Rock The Box....Trouble in Paradise...etc... great job my friend... greetings from Chile

Synth fellow hawk is back !! Yay !
Such a timeless awesome track - thanks for sharing your recreation!
Crockett's Theme from Miami Vice should be an interesting challenge.
Kebu made an awesome cover of it ruclips.net/video/TRCQmNMOqUY/видео.html
The main theme would interest me more. But for that he would need a Fairlight. Do you have one Dr. Mix?
@5:14 "hahaha take one!" 🤣🤣🤣 ... amazing stuff!
👍Quel travail ! Quelle oreille ! Quelle précision ! Merci de nous faire partager cela 👍
Nice cap dotor mix and cool shirt👌👍
Loved that show - can’t wait to watch this little series! Stay well!
Thanks! You too!
Now you just need to bounce it onto 30 year old VHS tape...
hahaha correct!!
@@Doctormix Or at least to tape? You have tape?
@@joelonsdalemore like cassette tape

That OBI patch was so Stevie Wonderful!
Fantastic beautiful beret collection!😉😉😉😉😉😉
This is sounding fantastic! I can hardly wait for episode 3!
The sequence at 7:30 reminds of the sound used is Human Leagues Don’t You Want Me.
Je pense que tu t'amusera avec Street Hawk (Tonnerre Mecanique) Merci et continu, les génériques TV sont connus dans le monde !
Great series, thanks Claudio.
Don’t Forget About Street Hawk!😃
How did I only now notice all those hats in your studio?! That’s crazy! :)
I count roughly 60! Haha!
@@toolman8269 They call them hi-hats.... because they hanging high up on the wall. :)
Hi Dr Mix, is there any chance you would be able to deconstruct the Streethawk theme by Tangerine Dream on your RUclips channel? Pleeease
T Dream were outstanding back in the day.

@11:20 sound and tweaked a little would have been the right sound for the arpeggiated sequencer part.
There is way more slap back reverb on the original snare
Yep, my ears told me that also.
yep its more of an echoey slap
Kinda sounds like a gated non linear verb to me, 80s as fuck
Still a nice rendition, I'm sure if he had more time on it he might have fine tuned everything a bit better.
But you have a good ear! 👍🏻
Really enjoying this series!
gotta love this guy !!! so enthusiastic !!!

Magnum pi would be fun to reconstruct ..... what you think doc

I've loved this theme forever
Loving these retro recreations..
I was wondering if you could do The Terminator theme please?
You are amazing and entertaining. I would love to see you recreating the Top Gun theme!
skyline is another hit from sylvester levay, used in cobra and werewolf
You are absolutely incredible. I have a question for you. I'm working on bringing Airwolf to Microsoft flight simulator and would love your expertise to add music to a release trailer. Would you be willing to share your work with me to use? (You would be fully credited of course)
Even a bts or making-of of any synth retro whatever is more interesting than 95% of current pop and radio or even rock music.
The new generation have no emotions and meaning in the sound they make ,I darent call it music . they don't know what quality is bless their cotton socks😊
That is a serious hat collection !!!!!
That seq bit reminds me of Oxygen by JMJ :)
Reminds me of stand and deliver. Inspiring, uplifting and motivational. Doctor with a cure.
Loving the 80s TV show theme reconstructions! Please do MacGuyver!

Wow, when you said DX7, you totally read my mind.
You are awesome. I am learning a lot
When are you going to do a New Order - Blue Monday song.
These 80s sounds are great
Grande Claudio. Credo che l'avevi trovato, il numero8. Ottimo lavoro comunque. ;)
C'è poco da fare.... gli anni 80 sono stati i migliori😎✌🏻
Vero!
Mix doctor, do you collect caps?
this sequencer riff I like to play on my bass using tapping
Great video. Next one: Le Parc, Tangerine Dream.
16:58 hahaha that is me exactly with the annoying headphone cable that the Sennheiser's have ... great headphones but the cable ... dunno what it is about this specific cable lol

darkalman - the widowmaker! Famous for killing its own pilots. Fantastic looking thing, missile with wings.
Only second to the Detroit Diesel 2 stroke engine!
darkalman yeah, those planes are loud as f+ck ;) but they are also beautiful.
You may be thinking of Howard Jones - New Song, which was a Sequential Circuits Pro-1.
Can you do Super contra?

7:15 mark it sounds like the song by Change “Searching”
I'm glad to see you are finally using a mouse. I might consider subscribing now.
Good job
Hi what kind of program you have in your TV screen
OMG I enjoyed every second :)
8:40 you need just high cut from EQ
there is clearly a palm muted electric guitar playing the synth sequence part.
I hear that, as well.
Fantastic
Great Claudio Next Song Street Hawk please!!
You should also recreate some Koto track, like Visitors or Jabdah. Good job man!
Pleas remake the Harmonic voltage from Animusic! I would love that!
Can u do barry de vorzon in the warriors movie ???
Thanks as always! Really nice to see maestro working! if i may ask, try something Chris Hülsbeck music, like Turrican OST ;)
I wonder how it would sound if you added tape saturation at the end.
When are u gonna do the awesome Street Hawk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long long over due!
Cool!!! Try Street Hawk for next video.
You've easily gained another subscriber.
(Easily for you!)
Fantastic!
16:06 my god, that's an arpeggiator from Mr Mister - Kyrie. Just slow it down a little bit 😉
Could you re-create a track from Vangelis, like for example the final track from Blade Runner OST ?
He already recreated i feel love.
This is my favourite tv theme, closely followed by Joe 90!
Is it still me or the Las bass line/rumble should be starting... From the start?
This sound reminds me to "Figth to survive" song rhythm
7:08 Nik Kershaw - Dancing Girls. Howard Jones's 1980s pop nemesis! ;)
I can't wait for the next part 😨😨😨😨😨
Molto bene, Claudio!

Totally rad! Next up: Street Hawk?
I brought the download and it was perfect - now I just need to work out the sequence ;)
15:30 that's the sound from the helicopter.
Perhaps Dangerzone by Kenny loggins?
