Your melodies might suck now but keep on practising.. have you learned music theory ? Also, my advice would he to create melodies that tell or picture a specific story. The melodies you create must create a consistent story, it has to make sense.
You can do 2 things… listen to instrumentals and replicate instrumentals by ear (which is how I do it).. so you internalise the sound of drill, OR you can watch Jay’s Masterclass where he takes you through the entire process. But the reality is, once you practise on your own and allow for mistakes, only then you’ll progress!
