Bought my '50 Coronet in 1975. It still had the original tires on it. I had to redo the entire brake system, tires, and a fuel pump. It had roughly 30,000 miles on it with the original exhaust system. It ran so quite, you could stand next to it while it was idling and would not be able to hear it running. It was my daily driver. I sold it to a kid in 1988 and he drove it from SE Kansas up into Minnesota. It was a great car!
@@kerr70 ok cool,I’ve been trying to put the wiring back together in mine and the previous owner was going a little crazy in his old age and ripped out every wire in the car
Hey man , can I get at u on Facebook or something I have a 1950s dodge coronet, trying to get her started, I put engine starting fluid down in the carburetor and tried to crank her over and it sounded like a gun shot goin off in town
Starting fluid is a no no in old engines man, sounds almost like your timing may be off though I'd check that, also use carb cleaner not starting fluid, less explosive, better on older engines
@@kerr70 yeah I'm gonna check out the timing tonight after work man. Thx I'm still teaching myself that , just learning about the car is pretty badass man, I dig your car , you should do some more videos on it
@@jeremyryan474 I'd like too, probably wont get to it until next spring though, its basically already put away for the winter, trying to get some other projects tied up before the snow comes
