I get where Riley is coming from with the beat but that's because it's like a song condemning his ego hidden as a flex song, plus there's like 50 different interpolations on it that are woven in so well that they're not even noticeable unless u look them up, which also kinda feels like a response to the whole "I've done this shit by myself" that Kendrick is leaning into on the song when the reality is that he is very much not doing everything by himself

the thing i think is so powerful about duckworth. is that it doesn’t need any cleverness or wordplay. it, as a story, is so powerful in itself throughout it without any artistic emphasis. the story, and the way the universe had chosen to write it it, is the artwork. the number of rips you take should never exceed the number of hours you’ve slept.
Personally really like “Now or Never” featuring Mary J. Blige, and think it would’ve been a good inclusion especially since it was also a Grammy-nominated track

My favorite Kendrick song is u. The vocal performance is insane, the emotion in the song is palpable, and it’s vulnerable, relatable, and intense. Not to mention the production, storytelling, and perfect musical tone. A couple sleeper favorites are Untitled 08 (blue faces), BLOOD., and Untitled 02 (get top on the phone)
u is really good, but i feel like it overlaps a lot with Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst, especially that third verse of Sing About Me that's from Kendrick's perspective. u goes deeper, but Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst goes to more places, and i feel like Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst is the better song overall

@@1PARFAIT7 nah, wesley’s theory solos damn. the lyricism is immaculate, talking about spending in the perspective of both a citizen and uncle sam, and how having a lot of money doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve made it. the instrumentals are insane, with thundercat bringing such an amazing funk with those awesome bass riffs, and george clinton has really cool and unique vocals that are a really cool nod to the funk aspect of the album. all around, super hype song and really good. FEAR. is a great song and is one of the best on damn, but it’s just not comparable.

Best song is absolutely Wesley's Theory. Best feature for me is Really Doe, Danny Brown. There's so much energy and that hook along with all the other features are just so good.

This is my #3 for Kendrick I think, his verse on the THat Part remix and his verse on Wat's Wrong by Isaiah Rashad both are a bit better features IMO but they're all insanely close
