Paint a snowy mountain with Kevin Hill in oil. This can also be done in acrylic and watercolor! My website paintwithkevin.... Facebook / paintwithkevin
This is one of your best. The treatment on the trees is incredible. When I saw the trees being painted, I felt that your technique has refined further. This painting has great balance between form and colour. well done.
Halfway in I was like were is he going to take this, I couldn't grasp the final look. Then it cuts to the foreground trees all darked in and it just took off!!! This painting really has a good feel. Very realist and planed finish. You have to include this next instruction DVD. Very well done!!!!!!!
hi kevin ..really enjoy your videos, because of asthma im now using water mixable oils..and before that acrylic. following your videos, the paintings l did in acrylic and one in water oils both turned out really good ..so folks dont have to use real oil which l love and do miss but health comes first... blessings
So the exact same technique can be used for painting this with acrylic? Should I expect any differences with how it looks? I'm new to painting, anybody's input would be great!! :)
+Armando Juárez We have one DVD that is translated to Spanish. Here is the link (scroll down to the bottom of the page) paintwithkevin.com/dvd-digital-downloads.html Thanks!
I've trid painting this using Acrylic, but it didnt turn out very well, i bought oil colours and re tried painting, but the colours wouldn't move and they were so hard and sticky, and they got stuck to my brushes and hands and wouldn't be washed off. would any one know the reason? it was very disappointing.
+Sarah Wali Hello Sarah, thanks for the question. The problem may be that the consistency of the oil paint was not great for this style of painting. I like a paint that is not too thick and sticky, yet not too thin either. I recommend Gamblin oil paints. Now, going from acrylics to oils can be confusing. Be sure you are not washing your oil paint brushes out with water. Use thinner or baby oil to clean the brush. As for getting it off your hands, soap and water and a lot of scrubbing usually does the trick. Hope this has helped.
I think you said this in one of your videos, but do you mix with an mediums like linseed oil or anything? Also, great work by way. Anything chance you may have a seminar in the south? I would go.
+Timothy McDougald I recommend mixing the paints with a bit of linseed oil for use with the liner brush. Other than that the only time I mix medium with the paint is to coat the sky area. I mix about 60% Titanium white with 40% clear gel. At this time my 2016 schedule is done. However, maybe in 2017 I will get a chance to travel to your area. Thank you!
