if after accepting Jesus you decide to go back into the world and turn your back on God, your name can and will be removed from The Book of Life. There are many persons who even though they never leave the church per say, they really do not have that personal intimate relationship with Christ. It is only by having this kind of relationship can we expect to overcome sin and thereby be save into God's eternal kingdom.
I'm enjoying this series 'Prepare to Meet Thy God' and firmly believe Dwayne Lemon is being lead by God's Spirit. However, (and this is just my thought process) I personally don't agree with calling the congregation 'Saints;' Jesus tells us not everyone who says Lord, Lord will be saved. I think it right at this stage in our spiritual journey we should call each other 'Brother' and 'Sister' for we are brethren in Christ but let God be the judge of our souls for He knows our hearts and who is worthy to be called 'Saints.'
Sigh, my heart aches for the SDA members and their organization's standard of parsing texts in order to create an extra-biblical interpretation. Mr. Lemon's father definitely knew the Bible. Luke 16: 19-31 is NOT a parable. There's no confusion, nor is there any figurative/allegorical message in the account. Hades (incorrectly translated as "hell" is the KJV) is relatively temporary; however, the lake of fire (the second death, in which Hades and death will be thrown into) will burn "forever and ever." [Revelation 14:10&11 and Revelation 20:10 - just a few of several examples] (Such terminology is the same with eternal life - eternal Bliss with God). Ignore what Ellen says about burning into ashes. If you must fight for her opinions, then do as the 18th fundamental beliefs says and use the Bible test her writings. If the Bible doesn't say that the lake of fire is temporary, then don't believe that idea. God is so loving that He saves those who live him, and gives "freedom" to those who don't want to be in His presence... It's either eternal peace or eternal torment. Please ACTUALLY test whatever the SDA organization says by what the Bible says - not by the "lord's messenger," Ellen G. White. She's not The Lord's Messenger. Call me an apostate, but the SDA Church is the blind leader leading blind followers into the second death. Know Jesus as God, not Michael the Archangel. Know that Revelation 14:12 says the Commandments of God, but that's the teachings and Commandments given to us by Jesus... If Revelation was written by John... Then define "God's Commandments" within his contexts (John 14:16-21 and also in 1 John). Please break free from the deception.. Uphold Christ not Ellen. Serve God and worship God Monday Through Sunday. God will not punish you going to church on Sunday.. God made all days beautiful.. Be grateful to wake up on a Sunday, and worship Him... You'll be happy to wake up after "Seventh-day Sabbath," so praise God for life on a Sunday.. Who cares what Roman Catholicism says.. If good judges by the heart, and you're not worshipping a false church but God (on a day that He Made and Sustains), then your worship is only towards good and not to some beast. Your "Christian" world-view is through Ellen's writings... Your keeping her testimonies.. The spirit of prophecy is ACTUALLY the testimonies of Jesus Christ (which are found in the Bible and were available to Christians before Ellen was born). The seal of God is ACTUALLY the Holy Spirit. Until that happens, I suppose we are only portraying our personal, twisted, opinions - and not the unbiased facts of the matter. I appreciate zealotry in standing up for what we feel is true; however, it is only when we can prove our truth to be The Definitive Truth that we can begin accepting ideas that challenge the very things that we have become comfortable/grew up with. We all need good friends, not friends that lackadaisically lead us into more bconfusion. Be well.
