She spoke to him several years ago at an Italian Institute event in which he was the main speaker. My friend worked as an au pair in Italy after high school so spoke fluent Italian. So when she met Mr. Firth they happily chattered away in Italian until his wife dragged him away. When she was leaving he saw her, stood up and wished her "Buona Serra!" What a gentleman! Thank you, sir.
