Its nuts how the best things in life simply do not come back. OSRS being brought to the table was a bona fide miracle and yet even so 2011 Runescape is but a breath in the wind we cannot and will not see again.
It literally was a miracle because Andrew Gower just randomly thought to have an 07 Scape backup made for whatever reason. If he didn't do that, it would've been impossible to go back.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 I'm surprised they didn't made any backups pre-EoC+RS3. Like seriously... to the biggest game changer and they didn't made back up, despite many players sharing their concerns and dislikes before it was months away from release
There's a lot of songs on RS, but this one in particular brings back certain emotions that no other track does so strongly.... Those were the days.... "F35 +2!!!"
I'm an old school player, been playing this game since 2004. I can honestly say that RS was at its prime in the 2010-2011 period. The return of 2007scape was great but I would've chosen 2011 scape over it any day!
I'd give so much to relive 2008-2011, the literal peak of the game, largely defined by Summoning, Dungeoneering, Curses, Overloads, CoinShare, LootShare, Corp, Nex, Chaotics, this was the game I loved. OSRS and RS3 are pale imitations of the true peak of RuneScape 2.
Agreed brother... 07 too dated RS3 seemed like its just moved on and forgotten about the prime times 2011-2012 was the era I loved most and I've been playing since 04
When I first heard this song, I began to see the changes that Jagex have made to their music department in recent years - RS Music has never been "bad," in my opinion, but some of their more recent works, like this, "Temple Desecrated", "The Sound of Guthix", "Battle of Souls", and "But We Can Fight", have really pushed the envelope on what I've come to expect. Having played since 2001 and remembering when there was no music, only metallic "clings" on the members version.. this is amazing.
Daemonheim, my last great adventure.. It has almost been 10 years since my departure. But I have heard the call of osrs, maybe not to return to Daemonheim, but to something greater. Listening to this song and scrolling down and reading the comments that were made 3-5 years ago man.... what good feeling it was playing with some of you. I remember the exact day when I first started playing this game April 9th 2009 the tutorial of how to play the game, seeing the 3 headed dragon in lumbridge, making the grind by killing goblins outside lumbridge and killing cows, meeting people in varrock square and hanging out sitting in front of the castle walls and talking with other players, going around and looking for new things to go, exploring the wilderness. Duel arena, soul wars, castle wars, and clan wars when it was released into the wilderness west of the green dragons. Man those were the days
You know, RuneScape has changed a lot. Everyone insists it's dead. Everybody talks about the 'good ol days.' But you know what, it's funny. I've played RuneScape for eight years, and when I think of the good days, it's FAR before this song existed. Scape Main was the theme! People from "my time" were frankly pissed when they first heard this. And as time goes on, the "good days" for everyone get later and later. It's amazing to read these comments and see people referring to this song as a symbol of the good times - the times they want to return. This just shows that everybody has their time on RuneScape. People come and go. But is the game really dying? No. No, it's nowhere near the number of players it was in the peak times (and actually, it might be considering the massive number of bots eliminated!) But it's a game - it can't be the most popular thing in the world forever. But if you really look at comments, and read what people are saying, everybody talks about when they first started. When they started their time. More people join every day. Eventually, today will be what's looked back upon. It's a cycle. Sometimes you'll grow out of the game, insisting it's dead and ruined completely out of nostalgia. God knows I've done it, Old School is HEAVEN for me! But as RuneScape grows and changes, so will the player base. It's going to change and there's no stopping it. Just think about that. :P

I started playing back in 2005 (I just turned 10 years young), THOSE were the days, oh my god! Indeed everyone has had THEIR days on Runescape just like you said. But I just wanted to let the nostalgia come back to me. I think when I started playing was when there was the Santa Hat event where they were just laying on the ground, I didn't know I needed to pick those up. Was the very first day I played. I remembered I got lost my first day after finishing tutorial island. I got lost and ended up in the wildy xd. Then I died and I was sad. I know I had the Chocatrice Cape from the easter event and the skeleton costume from halloween and the bunny ears and reindeer horn thingies. I remember the day they wanted to change the whole concept of the wildy (wilderness) and everyone was angry about it. That's when people stopped playing the first time. I also remember when drop parties were a thing... I enjoyed those days.... Just wanted to know if anyone here also played back then? And can you remember nostalgic stuff from then?

It's 2017. It's been about 7 years since this song came out... and some time after that Dungeoneering became a big thing... No words... I know it was long ago, but 7 years? Wow. This was definitely a vibrant era of Runescape. One of the last updates that I've enjoyed.
Seven years later and I still get chills from listening to the first few seconds of this song. Reminds me of the game I grew up in. The memories of both bad and good. From losing my full iron to wearing my first 50m dragon full helm. This game was and still is a blast, and I'll always keep it cherished in my heart and memories. Forever. Thank you Jagex.
I remember playing this on loop all the time, when I was in full mithril walking in the wilderness for whatever reason... this is the best runescape track
WOAH DUDE A wave of nostalgia just punched me in the jaw, pushed me on the ground, and danced over my unconscious body. I remember telling my friend about this awesome game I found a few years ago called RuneScape over the telephone, and then I took the phone and put it up to the speaker so he could hear how cool this song was. Like... damn. To think that I've been playing RuneScape for eight years. How I wish that I could go back... Sometimes I wonder if Jagex knows what they take away from a lot of people by making the 2007 servers and "exclusive" members only thing. It hits pretty hard when it was a huge portion of a few years of your life, something that I think only those who experience it like that can understand for sure. Oh well, things come and things go when they will, such is life. This is the only time I've ever challenged that cycle. RuneScape, come find me!
Actually, there's about to be a vote to allow bonds in Old School RuneScape, which in a livestream, one of the mods said is the only way free-to-play would work on the 07 servers. So, if that gets passed, they would be free to pay within a matter of weeks and players would be able to pay for membership through in-game currency as well!
I started around 2007 or 2008 but this was the time when i started really getting into the game and learning most about it after my huge break. This always brings back the memories of my first runescape friends, adventures i had and good times overall. Great song!
Same here.. Started in 08 and this song just brings back the year spent building a clan of mostly noobs and helping them level and throwing them either into the wildy or dung to see how they fared. Man oh man so many memories
One of my favorite songs on Runescape. I like listening to this when in the Fist of Guthix game. Wonder if I'm the only one here that likes Runescape 3 here.
10 years on Geilinor, although I don't love all the changes, ive loved RS all the way through RS3 and I still enjoy it? why? sure I have all my nostalgic memories and the good ol' days are still with me, but I enjoy RS because it is ever evolving and I enjoy it. Games that evolve are rare and what is great about them is that they grow with you. This will always be a part of my childhood and now my college adult life. I think this song embodies this feeling of nostalgia but also anticipation for what is to come.
2019 and this still brings me to tears the nostalgic of being a kid playing in my shitty laptop with 5 fps, those were the good days! I miss the early 2000's ;-;
Old School, RS3, whatever. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that we were born to play the game. To lead lives of adventure. To be part of Gelienor.
This hit me right in the Honey Nut Feelios. So much nostalgia. i even played through EoC. played right through deamonheim. then the newer runescape editions came out, and it just went downhill from there... they made it more from "lets give you all a good time," to "focus on the Premiums and give the rest the scraps"
The nostalgia. I miss you all my friends i lost during the RS3 transition. RS2 forever. I always come back for the good ol days. But man the nostalgia hurts me.
+Magikarp Full rune and 1.5m gold, come to the point of where I prefer to play dungeoneering instead of running around in the 'real world' of RS looking new, when in fact, I'm just the worst player in the world at making gp (don't tell anyone :P )
Never stop listening even in 2021. I always play this song when i'm about to face off against a boss I never fought before. This song boost my confidence.
It was 108°F outside and my friend said to me, "let's not play outside today and play Runescape together" and I said, "what is Runescape." And I heard this song on the loading screen. I didn't ask for it, but that was when when my childhood changed.
I remember when I first heard this song... Dungeoneering was a brand new skill... Seeing Thok standing with his arms crossed next to a brand new skill cape blowing in the wind... Good memories...
I absolutely love this theme. It quickly became one of my favourite all time epics. Reminds me of Transformers, Metal Gear Solid, and Star Wars, all mixed together with a bunch of amazing-awesome-epicness.
RuneScape was the best game i've ever played, everyday when i was going to school i would hum the RS Classic "Duh Duh daaaaa, Duh Duh daaaa". When RuneScape 2 came out the new theme song stuck in my head and soon Scape Summon. After RuneScape Dungeons of Daemonheim came out when i quit my membership i was heartbroken. This was truely one of the epic ages of RuneScape.
Oh my god. Everything started flowing back to me once I heard this. I have so many memories from this game. Honestly guys, we're obviously all entitled to our own opinion, but I think that Runescape was at it's very best during this time. It just plummeted by 2013-14 though. I unfortunately stopped playing it then, I couldn't stand the new change, still can't stand it now :/
Exactly. Started in 2009, were the best times of my life. But by around 2013 it all went downhill. I made my 'comeback' in 2014 but my account was locked by someones authenticator shortly after. To this day never know who did it..
I started playing in 2011, I come back to listen to this song because it is honestly the only thing that can make me feel an emotion I cant even describe
Wawa zx I also find the 2011-2012 songs depressing. I miss 2011's runescape, along with just about every other great moment from my childhood that's lacking nowadays. I feel like if companies never once meddled with and desecrated the products and franchises we've grown so fond of, we'd all be much, MUCH happier people.
All the Dungeon related tracks are great. My in-game playlist is just a sample of the various boss musics + the fight musics + this, and I set it to shuffle during Slayer tasks.
Ohh the feels and nostalgia this music brings with it. It isn't original old school RS music but it reminded me how awesome time I had with that game. The only reason why I don't play anymore is that it's been so long and everything has changed. I'm not saying all the updates are bad but still, I'd have to get to know the game all over again and to be honest I got a lot better games to waste my time on :D RS may stay somewhere in my memories, as a happy one
I hate how eoc made everyone quit and w3 wouldn't even reach 1000 players. When legacy came out, it was a little better and I just hope all the people from the past that I used to play with would come back and make the RS life better. Keep the nostalgia updates coming JAGEX
Logged in a few days ago, still had 200m Rs3 in the bank, gave it all away mill by mill while listening to this. This game will always be apart of my childhood
I first played RS about 10 years ago. It was about a few months before tutorial island was gone (temporarily, but still) I still look back and think of all of those wonderful memories I made.
Yep.... Walking up those giant stone stairs with your friends to challenge a dungeon and try to scrape together enough rewards from the vendors. Yep... Good times...
Been an RS member since 2005, joined in 2004...almost a decade. So much has changed, for both good or ill. Just bums me out that all my friends left the game...so I just play every now and then, alone. Feh.
People who have played from the start of this game till the present and future, know this is like a second earth, a place of belonging. Generations after generations playing the same game, its like a legacy we leave behind but always come back to, I wish i can enjoy this as much as i used for i had free time back then, now i just admire all the passion and dedication i put towards this game, my childhood cherished and spent well on this. Not to say i didnt go outside at all, of course but the amount of respect i have for this is just uncalculabe, its astonishing such a game like this can leave you in tears just by thinking about it. I still log in from time to time only to find out that i am a newbie again, i forgot how to cut wood, i dont know how to use the client because before, it was just an online game without having to install it on your computer. :( but what i didnt forget is the amount of friends and strangers i have come across in this game. People of the past, present and future playing/played this game, from the birth of this game to now, know that you will not regret it, instead you will remember this as your second home.
I have played RuneScape (and it's old school variant) on and off for 15 years. The first time I played RuneScape was in 2003, I went to my best friend's house one day and he said I just HAD to check out this game. I made a character, did Tutorial Island and I saw someone else in the game, I asked my friend if that is a real person and they said yes. It was the first game I ever played where you could see someone else's character and they were not in the same room or, indeed, country as you. That absolutely blew my mind. I also thought the bronze bar was a chocolate bar. I was in Year Grade 2. Edit: i still have my original character to this day - and remade again with the 99s I have - in Old School RS.
Runescape 2 was perhaps the best era of the game. Am I biased because that's when I played? Probably, but it still had that classic feel to it even though the graphics were improved.
Been playing this game for 10 years now, its always been fun and its had its fair share of slumps with me but I still love this game. This song by far is one of the coolest since the fate of the gods songs.
Guys we all have those marvellous nostalgic runescape memories... It surely was a lovely time in 2011 or before, but trust me, in 3 years we will be listening to the RS3 soundtrack and moaning about how immaculate 2014 was... New eras in runescape are not inferoir to the ancient, but we haven't glorified them in our memories yet.

Cloverofmist Oh, that's fantastic! I'll have to look more into it, thanks a whole lot for the info dude!
Crogomu F2P is definitely coming!
orabian For sure? Man, that'd make me and like eight million other people so happy.
Crogomu Yeah man, 19th of Feb there's perm F2p
This song is absolutely epic and beautiful! I'm so glad RUclips showed this to my feed
"Go out there, and give them hell, you were born to do this.."
Some people may have not liked this era of Runescape but you gotta admit, this track is so powerful and is bound to make you feel nostalgia.
This. I've been playing Runescape for a long time, and although the old theme is nostalgic, this one is simply badass.
This soundtrack is the defenition of epic. It starts of gently and then slowly infuses epicness right into your body.
2019 and this still brings me to tears the nostalgic of being a kid playing in my shitty laptop with 5 fps, those were the good days! I miss the early 2000's ;-;
Old School, RS3, whatever. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that we were born to play the game. To lead lives of adventure. To be part of Gelienor.
+Lord of the Cutting Moon that was moving man
Was it my fate to read this truth right at the drop at 2:27
+Alles Alles
Oh my god...how? I read it at the exact same time...
You mean "Runescape"
@xX_Brian_Xx No, it's a fact that RS3 is garbage and only casuals who need their hands held the entire time while "playing", play it.
Nothing beats the classic main theme but this was definitely my favorite runescape theme. A call back to better carefree times.
im crying
::[[[[[
adamarifp2 feel you bro
It's a powerful track the way it is, let alone it brings up so many good memories from back in the day.
same
The nostalgia. I miss you all my friends i lost during the RS3 transition. RS2 forever. I always come back for the good ol days. But man the nostalgia hurts me.
IM NOT CRYING
I HAVE FULL ADDY
AND 500K GOLD
TOTALLY NOT CRYING
+Magikarp walks up to you
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB
+Magikarp addy haha
+Magikarp Full rune and 1.5m gold, come to the point of where I prefer to play dungeoneering instead of running around in the 'real world' of RS looking new, when in fact, I'm just the worst player in the world at making gp (don't tell anyone :P )
75m in osrs and 1.4b in rs3 today.
You seem pretty adamant about this.
its 2021 and i still can't move on :(
Same
Time flies. I have yet to find a game with the kind of gameplay dungeoneering had... I miss my friends...
Endless memories grinding f2p dungeoneering with friends and my brother, golden times I miss this shit
Never stop listening even in 2021. I always play this song when i'm about to face off against a boss I never fought before. This song boost my confidence.
I cant believe dungeonering was 11 yrs ago... time flies as I'm getting older
Life sucks so bad
Its crazy
It was 108°F outside and my friend said to me, "let's not play outside today and play Runescape together" and I said, "what is Runescape." And I heard this song on the loading screen. I didn't ask for it, but that was when when my childhood changed.
any one in 2021??
comon guys i dont think am the only one missing the old days :(
Hello from 2024
@@someonesilence3731 welcome soldier
I remember when I first heard this song... Dungeoneering was a brand new skill... Seeing Thok standing with his arms crossed next to a brand new skill cape blowing in the wind... Good memories...
Considering how good this tune is, I'm surprised people hated it replacing the usual theme.
I'm surprised people cared seeing as you can make your own music playlists...
People will complain about anything on RuneScape.
Scape Theme is legendary though
praise the sun
The creators must've been really proud of it.
I miss this so much! I wish that I could go back in time for one day!
Damn, 10 years since this skill came out
My feels.... ;( The nostalgia is moving my emotions like no other. This was my childhood!
Im an old school player but sometimes I do miss these songs, not the newer game though
I absolutely love this theme. It quickly became one of my favourite all time epics. Reminds me of Transformers, Metal Gear Solid, and Star Wars, all mixed together with a bunch of amazing-awesome-epicness.
The feels bro nothing like the release of dungeoneering.
Still the best song in RS IMO. Rs3's soundtrack is one of the best in gaming and never gets the recognition it deserves.
11 years ago damn. Good times.
13 years ago now, really dont know how time moves by this fast. feels like 2010-2012 was forever but now 13 years have gone past like its nothing
@@duvetvem9711 You're absolutely right. Especially the last 5 years feel like a blur. I feel like I'm reliving memories at 100x speed.
@@wkwk2o384ur Life sucks so bad
@@duvetvem9711 whether life is amazing or sucking, this too shall pass.
Wish I could go back to those magical days when there was nothing to really worry about :(
So this is what an overdose of epic feels like. I can only grin and be swept away by the sheer flood of emotion.
Oh my god.
Everything started flowing back to me once I heard this.
I have so many memories from this game.
Honestly guys, we're obviously all entitled to our own opinion, but I think that Runescape was at it's very best during this time.
It just plummeted by 2013-14 though.
I unfortunately stopped playing it then, I couldn't stand the new change, still can't stand it now :/
+boyaka619ify oldschool.runescape.com it's a verison of RuneScape from 2007 officially by Jagex, it's all we got left now my friend
Try legacy mode 👌
the best was 2007.
same 2009 to 2012 was the best for me! I just started playing again :P
This was the time when I enjoyed my life as a teenager, as an adult, it depresses me a lot.
Truth. We all played Runescape at some point in our lives, and will never forget it.
One of the best songs in the game, if not the best.
I hate how eoc made everyone quit and w3 wouldn't even reach 1000 players. When legacy came out, it was a little better and I just hope all the people from the past that I used to play with would come back and make the RS life better. Keep the nostalgia updates coming JAGEX
2024, these were the best years of runescape the memories make me so sad
Right in the childhood :(

I was so addicted to this song when I was a kid, I listened to it over and over.
PLEASE BRING DUNGEONEERING TO OLD SCHOOL!!! WHO AGREES??????
Listening this always puts me in a good mood
They need to find a way to get this into OSRS
While Guthix Sleeps just got announced, I could see them including it in that

@@pvkbro99 hi
I first played RS about 10 years ago. It was about a few months before tutorial island was gone (temporarily, but still) I still look back and think of all of those wonderful memories I made.
i mean tutorial island.
Didnt this song come along with dungeoneering?
Lee & the BOT yes
I dungeoneered the piss out of dungeoneering.... only hit 47 i believe though, it takes forever to lvl lol
Yep.... Walking up those giant stone stairs with your friends to challenge a dungeon and try to scrape together enough rewards from the vendors. Yep... Good times...
I got to 75 dung soley in F2P...I hated dung at first but grew to LOVE it
@@kalef1234 but still it was more of a minigame, now with elite dungeons its bit like slayer

These songs should be used in like, Lord of the Rings XD
11 years ago when I was a kid... I always wait up for this song to finish before I log in. Oh God.. I want to go back to that days.
Pre-eoc was my favorite time in scape. But im in love with 07 atm so i won't complain c:
07 is the closest thing we have.
easily my favorite rs melody ever. when i first heard it when i walked up here as a noob i jammed to this for an hour
this is when runescape what at its prime.
Absolutely dude :(
omg than you jagex for putting this song in the game this is one of my all favorite tracks =] epic song
2011 and 2012 is still the best :)
Been playing this game for 10 years now, its always been fun and its had its fair share of slumps with me but I still love this game. This song by far is one of the coolest since the fate of the gods songs.
Nostalgia, the greatest emotion imo
Guys we all have those marvellous nostalgic runescape memories... It surely was a lovely time in 2011 or before, but trust me, in 3 years we will be listening to the RS3 soundtrack and moaning about how immaculate 2014 was... New eras in runescape are not inferoir to the ancient, but we haven't glorified them in our memories yet.
Mecetronium its been 3year idont lsten To rs3
