I dry brine my shrimp. I basically peel my shrimp and place them on a sheet pan lined with paper towels and a layer of NON-IODIZED salt. Once there is a layer of shrimp I completely cover them with more of the salt. Usually a couple of days will dry them enough. They stay on the hook longer. Dollar store has the salt. I am definitely gonna try this though. Thanks fellas!
Here in the North we soak our minnows in vodka which preserves the bait and the yellow perch love them. Maybe something to try with fleas and shrimp in the surf.
thank you for this! I've heard about it but I'm a visual learner, so this made it make a lot more sense! I'll definitely try this after I watch the next episode. I threw away about 3 dozen shrimp yesterday because I forgot to freeze them, so I definitely need to use this to save some money!
So after you added the bait to the brine and put it in the freezer do you just remove the bait you are hour take for the day out and ziplock it or dose it need to stay in the brine all day while out fishing?
@@keithgehrke9911 take the container with you! If you keep it in the brine cold you can re-freeze it many times. Just keep it in your cooler. Pull out what you need to bait your hooks! It is ok to take it out and out in zip lock but it won't be good after that days trip. I hope this helps.
Great video man!!
