I have a 4ft x8ft lean to one. We reinforced the structure with 2inch x2 inch interior framing. This also allows for hanging baskets from the 2x2s. I think the issue is the way these companies simply substitute 4 or 6mm polycarbolate twinwall in place of glass rather than designing a greenhouse specifically for polycarbonate. This is all very unfortunate as it gives polycarbonate a bad reputation it doesn't deserve. We are in an extremely exposed area and have a greenhouse and cold-frames made using 10mm twinwall polycarbonate and these are about 9 years old and we have had no problems at all. However, these structures use 45x70mm treated timber as the minimum structural material and the twinwall is screwed at regular intervals to the wooden frame using 4mm woodscrews with "penny" washers under the heads for load spreading. This method of fixing copes with the flexibility of the polycarbonate where clipping the stuff into a frame just doesn't. The Polycrubs are a good example of how a greenhouse that is designed to make maximum use of the strength of polycarbonate can produce a hurricane-resistant greenhouse even when only using 4mm twinwall.

Your right. These things are built 'bottom up' and the sheets are captivated in slots as the build progresses. When a sheet blows out, to get it back into the slots requires the greenhouse to be taken apart 'top down' and now more sheets are falling out. Nightmare!!!! Jim.
Plants looking good.
Thanks for the smile Jim, Let the ( buyer beware ) Looks like here in Canada I will have to use Bricks. Merry Christmas from across the Pond.
Oh my goodness !
Think you were looking for a brick house. Seems to me anybody would know these thing about greenhouses.
I tried to comment, to write a review on the manufacturers you tube channel. Comments were switched off. Tells you all you need to know about the product.
the reference " U get what your pay for ..is in regards to cheap materials and quality ... ..not nightmares...
I'm sure we all understood "U get what you pay for".
Here's another one to go with it , " fit for purpose" .
Merry Christmas!😁🍵☃️🎄🎉

There may be some good aluminum / polycarbonate greenhouses out there and you may have one. Good or bad, please share your aluminum / polycarbonate greenhouses experience with us. Thanks HGV PS. This will definitely put a smile on your face: ruclips.net/video/84AMaUbaY7w/видео.html

LMAO this is hilarious, grandads guide to you tube 😂😂😂
After a few sleepless nights looking out of the bedroom window at a greenhouse in trouble then 'beefing up' my greenhouse I can smile at my antics now, but at the time I was nearly a nerves wreck. Jim.
Made me laugh 😂😂 well done 😂
Every GH kit I have seen here in the US the sliding door slides to the RIGHT.
YOUR GH, slides to the LEFT. Just like UK cars, on the wrong side. Thats
HILARIOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!
Have you also noticed that when you slide the door to the right to go into your greenhouse you slide it to the left when you come out!!!!!!!! How do they do that?????????
The sun's now eating my greenhouse! ruclips.net/video/DShaIEdV38g/видео.html
as the saying goes .. you get what you pay for ..? period
Well that's not strictly true. I paid for a greenhouse and got a nightmare.
Thats a lot of " responsibilities " to burden yourself with 😂
