Thank you for explaining that it will not work if you go too fast.. I had done it before but it came back on after the car sat for a couple days in colder weather. Might be time for a new battery. I watched several videos and was getting very frustrated. You're a life saver!
Thanks for the sub! There may come a time in your life when you'd like to disable it. Hopefully my video is helpful in that situation. Congrats the Outback!
Not bothered by the noise for the driver, it's when I have to buckle my groceries, my pizza box or my pocketbook registering as a person, which destroys my desire to ever own a subaru again
Outstanding Tyson! Thank you, now if you can show me how to “DISABLE DRIVER MONITORING” permanently as I have to do this every time I start my 2023 Outback XT - that would be absolutely awesome!💯🤩👍🏽👍🏽
If I figure out a way to do that, I'll do a short video on it! It currently stays off in the other vehicles that I've tested it in, but I don't have a 2023 Outback available to test on.
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist I have a 1000 foot long driveway at my farm. And paths to the barn and tractor shed. I’ve had my Crosstrek since July and that damn buzzer and on and off with the seatbelt was driving me insane. Before finding your video I was going to look on eBay for a Subaru seat belt buckle end, without the belt, so I could plug it into the receptacle and drive around my property in peace! SERENITY NOW!!!
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to disable or reduce the sensitivity. Your local dealership may be able to change it in the background settings that technicians have access to.
@tyson Is there any way to make the Subaru (forester 25) make a SOUND when I'm signaling, shifting lanes and there is a vehicle in my blind spot? I am much more auditory and during the day often miss the visual flashing blind spot thing on the side mirrors - really need a sound - reaching out to you as an expert to see if there are any settings I can turn on so the car will beep if im changing lanes when there is a car in the blind spot. (Right now it's been the car behind me honking and slamming on their brakes - no Bueno!!!!)
Unfortunately, there is no way to turn on an audible chime for BSD, you have to keep an eye on the side of the mirror for the orange indicator, in addition to shoulder checking. The visibility in the new Forester makes it to that there are very minimal blind spots when checking over your shoulder, and the BSD indicator is great "extra insurance" to confirm that no one is there.
@synchro33 I have yet to find a way to disable the second row chime, other than buckling the belts up. I'd love to find a way to do it, but have been unsuccessful thus far.
I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with it this time. I've never tried to do it more than 20 times, so I can't confirm. You are pressing the start button x2 when you first start the process, right?
On my 2024 Impreza, the initial lower volume seat belt chime is okay, however the second round is much louder. What is even more interesting, is that I set the car to P and set parking brake, the chime is still going, but why?!
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist I usually open mailbox in my apartment and just drive 150 feet to the destination. I don't know at what speed it starts to chime louder, but I don't seem to drive fast at all, maybe 7 mph.
I have a question. My whole system went wonky in my ‘24 Crosstrek. Turns out it might have been downloading an update. When I got the notification to install the update, I pressed it and the install failed. Will it try to update again?
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist ok thanks. My 2021 forester when you turn on the engine the seatbelt warning light driver side comes on for a few mins but when I drive and remove seatbelt no chime.

I've had my 2015 for eleven years and the seat belt alarm was tolerable, but I'll be doing this trick to my brand new 2024 now that some idiot engineer decided to also put this alarm through the amplified entertainment speakers. That's almost cruel
