I live about 25 mins south of Branson, and I live in that awe you spoke of. The Ozarks are nothing short of mystical! Tarantulas in the road means a hard winter, never a good sign to see. Happy Hunting!
I live in Missouri and we live on a what I call a CLIFF..so as you were thinking we couldn't tell how deep that valley was your were filming, I know! Copperhead, timberrattle snake cliffs. I had to laugh about the spider 🕷 🤣 we grow them big! God Bless, safe travels. ~Pam~
MO has absolutely beautiful areas! I hope y’all had a real estate agent look for y’all in each state you looked into. When we were looking for our property our real estate agent was able to find places that we did not find online. And believe me between my husband and myself, we could find a lot of places online 😂😂 Your videos are always beautiful and well done! I can’t wait to see what y’all have decided on - I really hope it’s not NC 😝
Welcome to my neck of the woods 🙃 The Ozarks is where I call home. Its great homesteading country, good homeschooling too. In most of the hill country you'd definitely need 4W drive. Mo isn't known for its great roads 😬😆 You'll find your perfect place even if its not in Missouri!!
We homestead in the missouri ozarks as well, right in the middle of national forest, it is wild and beautiful. I was led to our property from thousands of miles away, I am sure you will also soon find land that speaks to you. Not long after I came over here from germany, while working outside my husband dug up a small rock with a heart shape etched into it by nature. A welcome from our land. I am positive that you will find the right spot, whether it be in the ozarks or elsewhere. If you happen to come a little farther east , you are more than welcome to stop by, we are close to falling springs !

We moved too many times; east coast to the west coast, north then to southwest. 12 yrs ago we settled in central WI.(where you still can buy land for less then $ 1,000 an acres :) were on 200 acres farming grass beef, living among Amish . The big thing we found is there is no "perfect" place, but were sooo glad were here....

I grew up in Wisconsin, and I remember the first time I ever saw a mountain. I was 14 years old. The Ozarks are beautiful. We traveled through Missouri when we moved down from Alaska. A tarantula?!? 😶

I check every day for an update from your search. We have been communicating with realtors and researching properties in much of the same areas you have, for the last 2 months. One family arrived in TN today with all their belongings, and we will follow in a couple weeks. My emotions are all over the place but God's Word is a salve to my soul. Read Habukkuk and be amazed at how close those words mirror our current situation! (It's as if God KNEW the future!) In the meantime I will pray for your family and look forward to your future posts. Just think how Abraham felt, leaving the land of his fathers and all he'd ever known.

Life is full of disappointments from time to time. But God promises even bless his inner disappointments. I think it's in our disappointments where God blesses the most because HE blesses us by keeping us from making a big mistake. That's what we're smart enough to listen when God tells us no don't do it. But if we're stubborn and still want to do it our way. God who let us do it but don't blame God when it don't work out. And yes I've known people that just done did that. God and everybody told them not to do something and they did anyway. And what did they do, they blame God right away... Are you sure you weren't talking to me. I just sold my house last Monday and the property I put a offer on didn't work out. So still searching. It can be hard to let GOD choose the way instead of myself.

You could definitely see how steep it was. Wise words from someone younger than 80! (You should look into reading for audiobooks, you have that Barry White thing going for you!) We must always listen and follow God in His plans for us. You are also correct that it is so hard not to insert what we want into it. He knows exactly what is for you and by listening closely and following Him, you will find where He intends for you to be! We all have seasons of life and what we are supposed to be doing, I am praying for this season in your lives! May you always hear His Whispers! One way to look at the random mishaps along this journey is that He slowed you down for a reason, maybe ya'll missed a huge accident that could have delayed ya'll for much longer. I have started looking at things differently, when David gets behind a slooow car, he gets so impatient but maybe that slowed us down for a reason. Enjoy the bumps along the way they could lead to some of the best parts. 💞
Trying to get through the cold snap with frozen plumbing, it's been fun lol. We're taking a few days off to attend a funeral, but after that we'll be back to editing & hope to get an update out soon!
