I have an accent + we use the British pronunciation just like the military example you did so most times at my university, I always avoid classes that would require presentation. Am always terrified. As an American, pretty much every state has its quirks, except Ohio, in Ohio we have an accent which is the child between the North and the South. Ohioans naturally flip flop from North to South. It's cool because we can communicate with both sides in their natural accent XD
Jusuf Kovacevic if the accent is non-rhotic it would substitute for an R. Since American English accents tend to be rhotic, it wouldn't equate to a R. This is something you will just have to train your brain in recognizing.
Thanks a lot, it's really helpful so I will continue to learn from you cause English language isn't my first language. I will practice with you and to be also better when I speak or write and that's grammar.🎉❤
No, only young girls and boys who have poor and limited vocabulary say "like" after every 3 to 4 words. They have no clue how to substitute it for more meaningful words. To fix this, simply start reading more or start listening to news reporters to learn how to speak clear standardize American English. This is possible believe me, I am full blooded Mexican. If I can do it, so can you.
You're hearing the "t" changing to your "r" because it's not technically a "d" sound. It's actually what is called a "tap" in phonetics. Some languages use a tap to make the "r" sound, so maybe in your language, the "r" is made as a tap. That's how it's made Spanish. While the rolled "r" in Spanish is at the beginning of words or else is spelled with a double "rr" [as in "perro"], the tap is spelled with a single "r" [as in "pero"]. That tap sound is the true sound in American English that is made by a "t" or "d" or "tt" or "dd" when it comes between two vowel sounds (as in "water" and "radio" and "bottle" and "ladder"). If you know how to make that tap sound, then use it. For those people who don't know the tap sound, then the "d" is better than the "t".
Well I'mma Indian so it's easy for me to pronounce the "R" sound but still my voice sounds really weird in calls and audios . U can actually feel that I'm faking my accent. Buh still I find American accent wayyy easier than the British accent. Idek how many ppl find the British accent easy 😂😭
