I’m a Fuji medium format shooter w the 50r, 100s and a poop ton of lenses. I bought a Q2 about two months ago and it is the most gorgeous, easy to use camera EVER. My favorite focal length is 27-28mm which I use with my X system. I’m actually selling my 50r in a week or so.
You are going to love it! Just give yourself some time to learn the camera and it’s abilities and shortcomings… then it will be the best you’ve ever owned.
I've had my Q2 a little over 3 years now and taken thousands of photos on it and it's been a lot of places. Usually I'm always first to check out the latest gear but the Q2 still feels highly capable to me and I will be trying the Q3 when it releases but sticking to the Q2 for sure. To your point of it not feeling out dated in a few years I agree. It's already a phenomenal camera.

I am on the list for the Q3. Mainly because I want Leica video in a small camera. I have the SL2-S and love it, but a small Q would be fantastic! I currently have the Q2 Reporter and it is fantastic!!!

The updated AF will be significantly faster
Apples and Tuesdays here, but I see a similarity with the outgoing fuji models. The chipset for the generation of xt3/xe4/x100v/xpro3 presents a tremendous balance of speed and image size. So much so that the x100v and xe4 sell more USED than new. The newer generation of fujis bring 40mp vs 25mp, which introduces less speed, more storage speeds, more detail work, etc, The only new fuji, the xh2s, that has a 26mp is becoming very popular.
I find that the used market tells a lot about a camera. Look at eBay first for the body under “parts only” seeing how many are listed for parts will give you a very good idea how they hold up. Second look at how many are actually for sale. This varies of course by new model release dates and the occasional fad rush. But getting to the point of used camera, specifically Fuji - the X-T3 / absolutely the best value and still amazing output of them all.

The Q2 is fabulous if one's chief criteria is image quality and the industrial design of the camera itself. And the Q3 is a seriously meaningful update. With that being said, what drives me up the wall about Leica is when they chronically elect not to add easy and obvious features/functionalities that are important. For example, the Q3 will move to a hefty 60MP without any redundant internal mechanism for file backup, whilst still using one of the slowest and least reliable card types currently on the market, SD. Moreover, after three iterations now, give the camera a proper AF joystick so one doesn't have to contort their thumb down to the D-Pad when trying to quickly move one's focus point around. Industrial design is great, but function should never follow form.

@@kaskoPhoto time to buy it from Hong Kong XD. It’s so nice. I am waiting for Q3 to come to sink the price further. Second hand mint goes for 4.3K usd already.
@Three Amigos HK are those Leica store prices or maybe Tin Cheung? I’m tempted by a Q2 Mono (living in Mid Levels)
the Q3 are freezing up like the. M11 why spend 6k on a new camera that is broke
I have the sony a7rv similar sensor No freezing
Phase lines always visible? B.S. I could show you a 100 photos taken with different modern cameras and you wouldn’t guess which ones are which!
I’m sure you’re right. Thanks for calling out my crap. 😊
"The only thing they have in common is they take pictures." - Uhhhhhh, isn't that the point of a camera. LOL
Yea, you nailed the point I was making 😂😂
@@kaskoPhoto Glad to help because it seemed as though you were trying to rationalize paying 5K for something that does the same thing as something that’s a fraction of the price. 😂😂😂
If your tall like me (6’8”) the flip screen is a welcomed addition. I wish you could flip the screen away as an option as well.
Well that is a fair point. And damn! 6’8” Mom and dad fed you well 😂😂
@@kaskoPhoto I’m sure it was the power lines! 😂 I also have the m11 and the Visoflex is a life saver for me.
