Hi Nina, 5 new growths at the same time! Truly an Orchid Master. I've got a Catt putting out three new growths right now and I felt like throwing a party. I used to fuss with the leaves alot wanting them to be perfect. Then it finally dawned on me, it's the roots you numskull. Lots of healthy roots makes for a happy Orchid. This video is well timed and well done. Thank you Nina for all you do for us.❤😂🎉😮😊

She did not appreciate the root ball clean up that she had 2 years ago, and was slow to show signs of coming around. Pretty much stalled for a little bit, and it would appear as though now she is playing catch up! I love it 👍🏼 roots are FUNdamental, yes... striving for clean leave is of course something we all grow for as well, but without good roots we are really limited with what we can give the orchid in order to grow nice leaves. No room for complacency in orchid' growing Nina - either sunburn or crown rot occur inadvertently. In our climate if we ignore sunburnt leaves , after a rain or watering , sun burnt leaves will rot.Thank you Nina for the experience sharing video.

ooh, schweinfurthianum. It would seem I forgot to bring it in before the hurricane. I was rushing to bring everything in as it was raining and the storm was coming in 2 days. That one hung in a place where it blended in with the mango tree and I missed it. So, long story short, I'm not sure where it is now. Fortunately I had removed a couple of keikis in the spring. I had intended to send them to someone but, well, now they will be staying since momma is no mas.

I have not picked mine off of la madre, because they are so tiny, but I am hoping to one day be able to take them off and see if I can get them to grow in a terrestrial mix separately. Really hope that things are not too bad, the clean up and surroundings, I mean. 🦒💖🌷 It seems they did not get as damaged after all. Amazing how resilient they are to sun. The wind has a more drying effect than sun itself as shown on those Cattleya leaves. They must have been were facing the wind. But wow for the 5 new growths 👌😘😘😘😘😘

Having the new growths, the ones that were tiny at the time, on the nobile almost mature now, they cover a lot of damage and add to the visual of green instead of brown. Phew! 😬the wind?? I was shocked! That was really something and yes, when I took the footage for the video, I pretty much had a similar strength wind, which showed exactly what happened on 'that' day while it was getting hotter and hotter and drier and drier. Live and learn... the mantra of growing orchids 🙄 those 5 new growths were little at that time, thankfully, but the whole orchid did not look so bad, until...! Well, I've baked a few plants myself under HD lighting too!! 😏 Took me a while to experiment with light heights over the casement till I found the prime level. 😅 But some of the plants at the far ends act like they want more light, so depending on the season I will move them over a few inches and watch closely for signs of sunstroke 😂 It's always something it seems!! But I also change fed routines as well during seasonal changes. 🫣 Watch and wait....No crime against waiting since people do it all the time! 🤗 Have an awesome weekend Ninja Nina....Oh, came across a dwarf variety of Grammatophyllum stricta that I'm checking into from my friends at Tarzane Orchids. Maybe I can swing an orchid purchase if it's not to pricey since I haven't bought any for quite some time now...just 1...🤔

I was so worried 😆 I have noticed salt build up on some of my pots, now that they don't take in as much... have to pipe down. It happens quick as well. I would like to be able to continue working on videos, but if I had a choice to make, then hot water and keeping the food fresh, would be top priority! Vamos a ver.
