    This looks amazing. This is the kind of video I've been looking for. My 8th grade teacher made me a beautiful clay ornament and it's on my tree every year. It's my favorite one. I always wanted to create my own.

    I live watching you make these and listening to your stories. I’m so glad I found you on RUclips lol. Can you please show us when you bake them and completely finish them? I’d really really would love to see you from start to finish. But you make it look so easy to make. When did you start making ornaments? Your amazing and would love to learn. Have a wonderful day!

      I started making ornaments in the early 1970's. Yes I am old (70) LOL.
      I bake them in the oven on a cookie sheet. I line the cookie sheet with printer paper and bake them on that. Not much to see. I don't really paint much on them. Just the eyes and maybe some dots. Not much to see there either so I spare you all from seeing boring content.

      Simply Ornaments Anything you do is not boring to me 😂. Maybe one day you can show us if you want. I told my sister about you and both her and I are going to try this. I studied how you roll your clay 😂 so hopefully I will be able to do the same. Thank you again for sharing with us. I just love it!

    Do you normally come to the Christmas Show in Louisville, Kentucky? I buy an ornament for each of my siblings each year, and don't know what I'm going to do this year since the show has been cancelled due to COVID.

      I am retired and no longer do shows and I have never done the Kentucky show. Look on Etsy. There are many polymer clay ornaments there.

    I know I am being a bit nuts, but is there anyway you can tell us about what size of a rectangle you start with? That seems to be my biggest problem on the tutorials I never know what size you actually have there, as it is sooo hard to tell when watching - thanks so much for all you do I love these videos :)

    • @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria
      @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria  4 года назад +1

      I try to make the ornaments larger so they can be seen better on the video. I would try to stay within a 2 x 3 or 3 x 3 area for single ornaments and up to 3 x 5 for family ornaments. Of course family ornaments with more than 6 people can get larger so you need to use your own judgement.

    • @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria

      I use Sculpey brand polymer clay. There are many different brands of polymer clay and they are available online and in craft stores such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

    That is so cute!! But when I add these tiny parts like leaves and nose on my clay items, they fall off after some time.. How do you avoid that? How to make absolutely sure that they are stuck strongly??

    • @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria
      @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria  4 года назад +1

      You have to be sure to press them on well. The clay has to be very well conditioned and pliable to make sure pieces stick to each other. You can also use liquid sculpey like a glue to attach pieces but that can be too time consuming for so many small bits of clay.

      @@SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria yes ma'am, I will be sure to use liquid sculpey.. Thank you for your response.. Your projects are cute!! 😊🤗

    Hello from the UK!
    I have recently stumbled across your channel and I've really enjoyed watching your 'Learn To' videos. I find your voice so relaxing haha
    Can I ask, what do you use to write the names and date? Do you paint on them after baking with acrylic ink or is it just marker? Any help would be so so appreciated! I've placed an order for clay as we speak, I can not wait to give this a go 😁

    • @SimplyOrnamentsbyMaria

      I use a marker after the piece is baked and cooled.
