Great video and well curated. I had the pleasure of dining at Noma when they took up residency in Sydney in 2016, I still remember the meal and especially the experience many years on.
You captured the meal and the ambience perfectly. Agreed that the food still had that uniquely Noma thumbprint but with intriguing Japanese local influences. Reminiscent of Noma Tulum to us. Still best front of house team anywhere - my 9th Noma meal! Thank you for sharing this
That looks mesmerising!!! Ive been a fan of your channel for a year, from your long vids to shorts, you guys put so much effort on it. Please continue posting these videos, I absolutely love it❤❤
It really is laughable. You could literally visit the likes of Frantzen and another world class restaurant for that price, but apparently the Noma cult is alive and well.
I couldn't smell what you were smelling or taste the fragrant array of food at your table but, visually I was there! I eat with my eyes when I watch food videos and definitely Noma nailed it!! I'm happy for you and thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous restitution of the meal. Thank's a lot, as usual. If you pass by france, make sure to visite one of Yannick Alleno restaurant ; the research, in terms of deep flavors, seem's similar to what you share with us, in these superb Noma's menus.
Cool! I was just in Kyoto two weeks ago. Wished I could have visited the Noma pop up but still found tons of delicious food. My favorite was a clam ramen from michelin rated Men-ya Inoichi.
Imagine being able to take Your whole restaurant to the other side of the globe... Noma...it's on my bucket list for sure... Thank You for another beautiful video...
The funny thing is before they announced the pop up My family already booked a flight to Kyoto in December Then they announced it… I’ve never been more devastated in my life.
Oh, no. Sorry to hear that! You should join our food community, The Hungries. We usually get the intel before it's public through someone in the network, so our members had their Kyoto trips all planned.
Absolutely love your videos, but I've noticed the sound quality of your voice overs not being the best. Maybe upgrade on that? But as I said: aaabsolutely adore your content both on youtube and on instagram! (I just think and upgrade in sound quality would be fitting to the beautiful pictures you shoot and benefit your total end-product). Great work anyway!!
Thanks for the feedback. What about the sound quality do you not like? If you could specify, it would be easier to consider changes. Is the music volume too high/low? Is the voice too high/low? Background noise? Also, what kind of device are you watching from and is it with a headset or not? We record the voiceovers with microphones and edit the sound in Adobe Audition, so it shouldn't be bad.
@@andersandkaitlin at that price point? Haha, no thank you, though I have been to Noma itself and I've seen/heard enough from friends and bloggers who did go to this pop-up. You could visit three triple-starred restaurants in Japan for $1000. Glad you enjoyed it, anyway.
We ate with whatever cutlery they gave us, and often it was nothing, which meant we were supposed to eat with our fingers. A lot of food in Japan is eaten with your fingers, including sushi.
Sorry this is just idiotic. In what world would these ingredients be worth 1000 dollars per person? The meal could be good, surely. But you’re lying to yourself if you really think it would be worth 2,000 for two people…
Hundreds of thousands of people disagreed with your valuation given the demand for the tickets, at least. Besides, you have no idea about the cost behind this operation - moving a full restaurant with 100+ employees to a new country for 3 months. Most likely it's not a big money maker for them.
Nope. Fried fish heads, and glazed pieces of fat are not my cup of tea. Noma are a bit too adventurous and avant garde to my taste. I'll stick to classic french fine dining, thanks. But, hey... Enjoy ! 😶☺️
Certainly not overpriced for the quality, and definitely not overpriced for the demand. They could charge x10 the price and still sell out. Doesn't mean there's also other good restaurants out there, but that doesn't take anything away from this meal. Did you go yourself?
Great video and well curated. I had the pleasure of dining at Noma when they took up residency in Sydney in 2016, I still remember the meal and especially the experience many years on.

Wonderful Video as usual
Thank you, for sharing the journey with us! Four weeks until I am in JP so i'm looking forward to trying some good coffee there *-*
Awesome! Check our other channels for a lot more Japan tips.
@@andersandkaitlin I will have a look at it, thank you! (:
looks beautiful, and i will spend on a great meal with great wines, but 939 is just over the top.
It's an expensive experience, for sure! But considering what they've created here in such a short time, we thought it was worth the price.

Beautiful fun episode. Your honesty about not particularly enjoying one of the dishes was refreshing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for making this!!! If I can't visit in person, I am so grateful to experience through you!!
Come with us to the next one!
literally just got back from Kyoto and even stayed at the ACE HOTEL ... how did I not know about this?? Looks amazing, thank you for sharing!
You have the best job in the world.☺
We don't disagree.

We had that too, delicious! Kyoto was such a good food city. Sharing all our meals from the trip on Instagram right now - @andershusa and @carnivorr.
Awesome- wish I could've tried this one
It was amazing!
Looks absolutely amazing and delicious. I can highly recommend the Ace Hotel in Kyoto.
Awesome, we didn't stay there this time.
Wow! What a stunning meal! Top notch! 👏
I have heard of Weekenders Coffee too and how amazingly delicious it was.
Yeah, so great! :)
Wow, everything looks so beautiful & delicious. Great video Anders and Kaitlin. Looking forward to more good eats!
Thanks, Sue!
Something unique about noma by the time you see a video they are already doing something new . Rene was even cooking burgers during the pandemic.
Imagine being able to take Your whole restaurant to the other side of the globe...
Noma...it's on my bucket list for sure...
Thank You for another beautiful video...
Thanks. Hope you get to go one day!
..amazing..I had the PRIVILEGE to go to the noma Mexico popup..sublime ❤
I loved that one too!
I now remember Mette Soberg. I saw her in an old YT video of Noma Saturday Nigh Project where she made a Kale dessert.
very nice!
Kaitlin is so beautiful and peaceful! 😊
She really is! :D
Great video, I was wondering if you could find any of the sake / drinks like the kumakura starbursts 2023 online to buy? Cant find them anywhere :/
I don't think so. Sounded like most of the stuff was super limited.

I have never see this kind of fancy meals.
I hope you get to experience it once!

Damn i didn’t This! Really wanted to try that.
Have you guys been at Koks in Ilimanaq, Greenland yet?
Last chance This year, Its was great
We have not! Don't think we'll go unfortunately, but looking forward to them reopening in the Faroe islands.
Vers nice

@@andersandkaitlin I'd say it's a tad thin and squeaky so maybe boost the low end a bit to get more depth 😁 Great video!
@@pierresmedberg4268 Thanks.
Was it hard to get a res or did they give reviewers special access? I'm not saying that as someone who tried but didn't get in, I'm just curious.

Hi, John!
I’m sad that Noma Copenhagen is closing. I hope they find ways to still serve guests, and don’t fall into the traps El Bulli did.
We think this is the way they'll go forward.
How do you get full off this food 😭 but i guess that’s not the point
Generally, tasting menus leave you beyond full. It's hard to imagine how much 15-20 courses add up, but its A LOT.
미리내 양곱창? ㅎㅎ
This is foolishness on a grand scale
why
I been NOMA in Denmark, cost £500. Not so happy, sorry is all about PR.
@@acm1137 because it’s all slowly bs. Like modern art but wasted
The main Noma isn't worth it at this price, never mind this pop-up.
Noma has bought too much into their own mythos, they've been 'closing' for ages.
Did you go to Noma Kyoto?
@@andersandkaitlin at that price point? Haha, no thank you, though I have been to Noma itself and I've seen/heard enough from friends and bloggers who did go to this pop-up.

Seaweed tasting like the sea? Shocking
Seaweed has an amazing range of flavor depending on how you prepare it. From salty to sweet to umami.
Why are you eating so much with your fingers and not chopsticks?
We ate with whatever cutlery they gave us, and often it was nothing, which meant we were supposed to eat with our fingers. A lot of food in Japan is eaten with your fingers, including sushi.
Burger King
Amazing video, thank you, but the food is not visually attractive to me
$1000 for a black leaf and seaweed??? Yeaaaa ill pass

Overpriced for the quality, you can find better quality with 3 stars in europe for 800$.
