We had tadpoles in the mortar tub the horses drink out off last november. We are in Minho, so north of Portugal. We also had tad poles in the normal water tank, but I think the goldfish ate them all.
Well Ken never mind what happens in the future here in the U.K. talking world events you’re still better living in Portugal , it’s probably a good idea to start a veggie garden it’s not a bad thing anyway to have good vegetables on hand
On the other side of the world, in Victoria Australia it is Summer. Usually our grass would have browned off and we'd only need to mow every 6 to 8 weeks. But we have experienced high rainfall this season and the grass is still green and needs mowing every 2 weeks. We rarely get rain in Summer in a normal year. It seems the seasons are all mixed up and confused.
Hi mate I have a suggestion for the grass spring racing you should hire someone with a tractor with a tre point linkage big slash or a Trencher before drying off thanks for the good video cheers 🍻
Too bad they don't make an e-riding tractor or riding lawn mower!! I imagine you and a lot of RUclipsrs like Project Portugal and Frankie off Grid and Cindy Vine would love to do product reviews!!!
There was a bit of misinformation. Lavandula is the scientific name of lavender, well known for its pleasant aroma. Camphor trees are the source of camphor oil and that smell is quite a bit stronger. Also, lavender flowers are okay to eat but camphor oil is poisonous if eaten.
Hi Jane, sorry I mistakenly called it lavendula instead of lavandin, which is a hybrid lavender containing camphor. Even pure therapeutic lavender contains traces of camphor (according to google) but the camphor tree is what is primarily used for camphor oil. I'm not sure exactly what species of lavender we have on the farm but it's very pungent with a strong camphor scent.
Hey Sarah, I dont feel right asking people for money to buy a luxury item like that. I think a better idea is to get talking with some manufacturers and see if they will sponsor something in return for featuring it in our videos.
@@janhodgson1740 Im in The Ntherlands. some older tractors can be cheapish. But I don't know anything about what you can or can't attach to them, sorry.
Nice relaxing video, I would suggest you invest in a small tractor, you will not regret it. You will kill your self constantly keeping up with grass cutting.
why do you burn olive brunches? do you your soil to become sterile, without organic matter, and incapable to retain water! why don't you use a wood chipper?
We have used chippers before but its a very slow process. The amount of branches that come off 100 olive trees would take over a week to go through a chipper but only take one day to burn. The potash is good for the soil too and our fields get lots of organic matter from the composting roots, grasses, and sheep manure. Our fields have improved a lot over the 5 years we have owned the farm and they are getting much more productive thanks to the help of our neighbour Joaquim
Your doggos are so lovely. Seems like the whole country has been pruning over the last 10 days.
A deck & some stone steps at the top of your large pond would be nice.
You should talk to Nick and Andrea about a small Kaboto or maybe a FORD 1600?
Your property looks beautiful !! - all green! ❤🫶👍😊👍🌟
Ooohhhh you are back so nice
to see you again was so missing you last week 😁
Nice geese good luck with them. Interesting world view. You got a new subscriber!

I’d been in Portugal for the past two weeks scouting and was really surprised how warm it was for Jan/Feb.

I knew this property was the one when we first saw it! Every year it seems to get better and better too ❤
Also u should get the electric pruner hand help. Theo got it for bee even Gina will love it😊
Oh dear 😮 I always wondered what Gina's lady garden would look like shaved. Turns out I much prefer the 70s bush! 😂
🤣🤣🤣

You need a tractor. I know you want one 😀. Thanks for the vid Ken. A bit late for Sunday lunch, but nice nevertheless.
This winter has me all out of sorts. We've been hibernating for most of it and im getting my times messed up 😅
Nice to know when you’re happy. Goslings are next new birds. Beautiful video reg to Gina💐

Hi, Not heard from you in a while. I didn't know you were from here in the UK. Great video. Lovely area xx
Hi Yvonne, I was born in South Africa, but lived in the UK for 17 years before moving here to Portugal
Screw a guarddog to guard my appartement, I will get 2 geese and put up a sign "We guard here" vicious animals 😂
The farm looks great y'all! It's rare you find animals breeding, especially on video! Lots of screaming!! LOL!!! ✝️🙏🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣🍍🤗
I always thought of mimosa/acacia as a winter bloom!
Ive only really seen them here in the early spring... im probably wrong!

A ride on mower will make your life sooo much easier.. but easy for me to say.. costly..😢
Yes id really love one! One day :)
Give the geese away 😂😂😂
Looks like we might have lots of baby geese soon!!!

Definitely need a ride on mower or a tractor with mower.
A zo called sit mower would make life even more relaxed .. small investment.. loods easier
Set up a gofundme for your ride on mower, you'll have the money for one in no time!
Alternatively, does Joaquim have one you can borrow?

nah, too small. A man needs a tractor, prefereably a classic one.
Are there auctions in your area where you can pick up a tractor to attach those grass cutting machines??
@@janhodgson1740 Im in The Ntherlands. some older tractors can be cheapish. But I don't know anything about what you can or can't attach to them, sorry.
If you wouldd set-up a go fund me for a nice old real-size tractor, I would join.
Ken did you get a ride on mower?? I thought you did, if not that should be your next number one purchase!
Thank you for sharing your video! So blessed!
Not yet, have a lot of things on the list and they all cost a lot! 😂
سلام جميل وبتوفيق❤❤❤
Have you thought of getting a ride-on mower?
Many times but my budget dosent allow it yet 😅
Adoraveis esses "portuguesses", fiquei com pena deles porquê a piscina é muito pequena, quase não conseguiram namorar😂.
Os gansos têm acesso à barragem da nossa quinta, mas nunca a utilizam. Eles preferem nadar naquela pequena banheira. 😅
gee man give them some privacy....
🤣
